Gerritt Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Having seen all these rods... and looking at and critiquing each one (Hey Gerritt, Look at this one... what do you think? during each step of the process..) I have to say they are all going to make some fishermen pretty happy... I think I will take the GLX.... :Gonefishing: :asshat:   :clapping: :whistling: :thumbsup_anim: G.
FUSION Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 One of those wouldn't be mine bye chance would it?
solopaddler Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Hey Chris, the quality of the cork on what I'm assuming is the GLX handle (those are Ferg's spec's ) is exponentially better. That's the quality of cork I want on my handle. Now please perform a miracle and find me some LOL!
esoxansteel Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 Fantastic work once again Chris, you build rods with the passion, and attention to detail, like you were building them for yourself, for anyone looking for a great builder Speils your man, the CTS I have, that you originally built for Solo, is a real pleasure to fish, and comforting knowing that your hands put it together.
BillM Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 (edited) That GLX prototype is slick, Ferg is going to LOVE that rod!!! I'll make sure to steal it from him for a few drifts I'm looking forward to Mike's review of the new 2pc 13' CTS. Edited January 21, 2012 by BillM
Spiel Posted January 21, 2012 Author Report Posted January 21, 2012 Thanks everyone. I really enjoy doing the handle work, it's the guide winding and finishing that I abhor but you can't fish 'em without guides. Nice work as usual but none of them are the one I ordered.....Springs coming....just sayin. Art Ya ya! One of those wouldn't be mine bye chance would it? Sorry Fusion, still waiting for my big cork order. Hey Chris, the quality of the cork on what I'm assuming is the GLX handle (those are Ferg's spec's ) is exponentially better. That's the quality of cork I want on my handle. Now please perform a miracle and find me some LOL! As noted above Mike, still waiting, hopefully it's a good or better. If I recall Ferg supplied that cork and it was exceptional! That GLX prototype is slick, Ferg is going to LOVE that rod!!! I'll make sure to steal it from him for a few drifts I'm looking forward to Mike's review of the new 2pc 13' CTS. It is nice Bill and Ferg keeps reminding me it's one of only 10 out there.
Rich Clemens Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 Ya know. If I would ever switch over to the baitcasting reels .. I'd need to have a couple of those. Great work Chris.
Roy Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 Ya know. If I would ever switch over to the baitcasting reels .. I'd need to have a couple of those. Great work Chris. Spiel has made me some really nice spinning rods too, Rich. Just sayin'.
Fish Farmer Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 (edited) Nice work, can't wait to see the minnows scales on those handles Bet you can't catch Sheep-head on those rods. Did you say you wanted me to autograph them Chris Good work as usual Chris Just the Farmer pulling your chain. Edited January 21, 2012 by Fish Farmer
Rich Clemens Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 Spiel has made me some really nice spinning rods too, Rich. Just sayin'. The ones I've seen, they all show great craftmanship.
Spiel Posted January 21, 2012 Author Report Posted January 21, 2012 The ones I've seen, they all show great craftmanship. Thanks Rich The ones pictured are all Steelhead/Floatrods. The top one is a 15' CTS Second one a 13" Loomis GLX strip and rebuild Followed by 2 more CTS' at 13.5' Seems to be a big demand for steelhead rods.
mercman Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 For what its worth Chris, those are some of the finest looking rods i have seen. It must require a steady, confident hand to achieve the workmanship displayed in those rods.
