  1. Sorry about how I worded the post about the Hamilton Family Fishing Derby. I just looked at the post and realized I said it was tomorrow! It is on AUG. 14th. Guess when you work stupid dumb shifts and ridiculous days off I get mixed up on what day is what. Hamilton Harbour Fishing Derby Hamilton, Ontario 2010/Aug/14 to 2010/Aug/14 Website: www.hamiltonwaterfront.com Sorry if I caused a problem for anyone.
  2. Got up, turned the tube on and saw that CH morning news had a segment on fishing. Did a little channel surfing and came back to Hamilton's channel 11 and there was Lorie and OFC's Fishfarmer representing the Stelco Fishing Club and promoting the family fishing derby tomorrow. Dave, keep it up and your going to have your own fishing show. Good job ol' buddy right here
  3. Just be reborn in Myrtle Beach, they have a pretty good BPS there and you can have both salt water and fresh water fishing at hand. Biggest problem for Buffalo is it is just like Hamilton, bunch of dumbasses running it and nothing ever gets done, and if it does happen they'll surely screw it up!
  4. Yep! Ya have to put up with that, she must be a Virgo...cause my wife is the same. Problem is if she's right about one of those things and you said leave it home you'll never, ever, live it down. Enjoy the boat and your new fishing buddy.
  5. Best in the spring. Try around April till May-June or soon after ice out. Still some around now but the catch is not so hot and it will be discouraging.
  6. Just another technology scam to screw drivers when they get the car on the hoist. I'm getting sick of paying repair bills and it doesn't matter if your car is 2 years old or 10+, their going to get you one way or another. If I was facing your decision I would find a shop that would bypass this and toss regular valve stems on the tires. Just my opinion 'cause I don't need a warning system to tell me I'm being lazy.
  7. Like CanadaDave said you want N. N/W, and don't turn your back to the lake. Keep your senses alert for wind changes and time of day after 11 AM things seem to change. Also don't trust the wind forecast on the weather channel or their website. I have read wind predictions for there more than once only to be foiled after getting to the port. Have a good day on the lake.
  8. I like that way of thinking Why waste the brew and cedar decking is cheap in comparison. Going to give it a try Dave. The chicken in BrianB;s pics looks great
  9. Ahhh yaaaa, that would be a tank vent. Who in the h== said anything about a metal tank? What did I miss? I didn't read that into Art's reply, but then again it is about 4:45 A:M and I could be missing something.
  10. Gee I kind of like Old Mill beer. Didn't think it was bad for that ponypiss the yanks try to call beer. wink wink nudge nudge
  11. If it has a 3 litre "Vulcan" engine it will keep going and going and ....
  12. Went to Port Dover today....the long way, via Brantford along the back roads to Simcoe and then eventually over to Port Dover. We had intended to visit the TSC Store to fetch me a new pair of work shoes as this is the only place I have found steel toe shoes that will fit my fat feet. Then hit the casino for a short spell and finally head to the port for a foot long at the Arbour. As fate turned out we did win a few bucks at the slots but they ever had my size of shoes in stock at the store so we did some country jumpin' along the back roads enjoying the day and ended up going through Simcoe. As we were leaving town we passed a BBQ Smokehouse! What luck! It was a real honest to goodness smokehouse, real life smoker and great beer to boot! Woooo hoooooo! Happy days! The place was just like something out of the South! Board and batten siding, motorcycle parking and wild game heads on the walls, even a Harley parked inside! My kind of place, I knew it as soon as I pulled into the parking lot...the smell of a smoker BBQ filling the air. Damn, there were even live chickens roaming around the front yard of the attached house! Anyway, back to the reason why the lil' lady and I dropped in. The food! We both could not resist a pulled pork on a bun which came with coleslaw, corn fritter and fries! What a delicacy We both thought we had died and went to heaven! Or at least somehow instantly transported back down to Florida to Sonny's BBQ or such. The name, (and I'm not trying to spam here, just passing along what I think is worthwhile to all as I am still high on the memory of lunch.) Is the Dogsnest Smokehouse. Some of you may even remember the corner just out side of Port Dover that was once called Dogsnest. When I was a teenager I always did intend to stop one night and grab that sign for my recroom but never did, was always to fall down drunk I guess to hold a screwdriver in the dark. Apologies for the novel, but I'm still enthralled with from being overstuffed from lunch. They do have a website which I glanced at but it just won't let you go, I had to shut the internet off to escape it so I won't link it but you can google it. If you love BBq smokehouse food ya gotta try it if you are passing through Simcoe and try it I hope you have as good a meal as we did. Oh yeah...we never did get a foot long dog today, the smokehouse did us in.
  13. Been using the one out of my wife's old Corsica since I scrapped it about 3 years ago as a starter battery in the boat. No issues.
  14. Take it easy livin, I'm glad to hear you made it through OK and I hope the buckle does it's job. Motorhead, hope Doc. Singer get's you all fixed up and stick with the eye drop routine even when it becomes a pain in the butt.
  15. I thought only women had to make an appointment with hair dressers? So what's with making an appointment for a haircut?
  16. Why not sell off the 2nd lot and rent the place out? Take the proceeds from the lot sale and pay down the mortgage. Or...build a new place on the empty lot and sell the original one.
  17. That is one adventurous smartass cat and one dog.
  18. It's going to strengthen the underground economy even more than the GST did. So many "handymen" running around now working cash jobs and it's going to get worse now. So much for the legit tax collecting and tax paying contractors.
  19. That guy deserves a 5 for sure! Love it, often wondered haw a lawn mower engine would work. Not only is he inventive he saved himself aout 900 bucks because he didn't run out to buy one of those B&G outboards.
  20. Just about dropped my beer over that one
  21. Why in the he77 don't they protest something worthwhile...like the HST. Or better all the women should protest topless, at least we would have something worthwhile to arise to. Other than that just water cannon the idiots that start to cause violent trouble. And too bad for those that have had to spend some time in lock up just grow up will ya and quit whining. My praise to the cops for keeping their cool through all of this bull.
  22. Dodge truck, Corvette or a boat?
  23. I too understood what was meant and didn't read any negativity in the original comment.
  24. I hear what you're saying Dave. Be careful out there, not worth losing your cool. I was thinking about you with concern working the summit. With luck the crazies will not cause much trouble. IMHO the car incident was blown way out of proportion by the media. I was listening to the live broadcast on the radio while on break. And yep, it did look like a Red Green invention
  25. BB gun. Just joking....I think. Next year make the nesting spot undesirable and with luck they will find a better location. Don't get me wrong I like birds but there is a place, and that isn't it.
