  1. I want to comment on that...instead I'll keep my trap shut so as I don't offend the one who posted it. But I will say that if the gov. introduces an all you can kill limit on cormies I'll be the first in line for a gun permit and a hunting licence. Death to the black winged flying devils!!
  2. WOW! Posted this and didn't think I would get such great advise. Sounds like you guys have had some good times fishing Florida. I will take your helpful words along with me and get some pictures of the catch. Thank you
  3. Looking into pier fishing in Florida and have read much about the Skyway Pier for fishing. Just wondering if anyone here has given it a try. We might hit this part of Florida while on winter vacation. http://www.skywaypiers.com/ look at theses pictures Looks like a good spot to spend some time with a fishing pole.
  4. Me too. Got all the boat I need right now, however I would have posted it for sale in OFC classified first as I would want someone on the board to have 1st. crack at it.
  5. Was thinking the same thing as Blaque: Worth a try. You have to remember one thing about business, You can't make everyone happy you find a nitch unfulfilled and work on that. This may be yours. Good luck with the new business.
  6. Thanks guys. And yes it was probably in my own driveway (East end Hamilton south of the Queenston traffic circle) when the attempt was made. Pulled the car up too far into the driveway between the houses away from the street light where it is darker and that is probably why they targeted it. I am going to pick up a motion light and hang it on the garage front gable looking down the driveway this weekend. My first thought was it may have happened at work as that is when I discovered it and the Ancaster Meadowlands is a target for car thieves. One of my fellow associattes SUV was stolen a couple of months ago. Police found it, wrecked. Broke the womans heart as it was a right off and her husband had just bought it before he passed away. She went out at 10:30 A:M and it was gone. You have to be careful in shopping centre parking lots, in particular when they are close to the highway. Burlington Mapleview Mall, the Meadowlands etc.
  7. After 13 years and 340,000 KM's I finaly decided the old '97 Aerostar needed to be put down so I gave in and bought a new...at least new to me car, an /05 Ford Five Hundred (havn't a pic downloaded yet.) Couldn't go brand new as we had just picked up an /01 Merc. Cougar C2 for P.H Jr. and cash is geting tighter. Anyway the car is mint, not a mark on it. I even insisted that the front bumber be redone by the dealer because the clearcoat was peeling. So yesterday I go out to the car at lunchtime and notice a couple of deep chips out of the paint on the roof near but not along the door edge. Can't figure out what the hell happened. Figured some was putting something in his truck or on/into his car and it fell onto my car, but so high up and along the roof seam/joint? After work I looked at the other side. Sure enough more marks in the same area above the passenger door and the chrome moulding is scratched. Then I look at the rear door, same thing! So I figure it out, some tried to get into it. Don't know why, nothing in sight and the car has a factory theft system as well as decals on the windows and engravings all over. As I drive away the store manager is leaving, stopped and showed him as I'm figuring it happened at work in the store parking lot. He is not happy either, but says do you think it happened here? Hmmm, maybe not, it was dark when I left on Wed., Dark when I went in yesterday morning so maybe not. He also asked if the car was new, I told him no but we both went over it with a fine tooth comb and there wasn't a mark on the car. So I figure it may have happened in my driveway after I realized I had pulled the car up the previous night right in between our house and the neighbours. Excellent cover for an idiot to try something. So off I went and bought a Master Lock steering wheel lock in the hope that it won't happen again and PH jr is now again using his. Sorry for the above novel, it's early morming and I can't get back to sleep. Not only that but just want to remind everyone to be careful and practice good logic and don't take saefty for granted. BTW the 500 is a beautiful car to drive. It was Ford's replacement for the Taurus and then in /08 the Taurus name was brought back and badged onto the 500 along with a larger engine. A 2011 Taurus is quite pricey! And it burns me that I've only had it 2 weeks and this, could be much worse though. Thanks for letting me vent.
  8. Sorry to hear the news Wayne. Fingers are crossed, prayers are in. Hope for all the best and for everyone to keep their spirits high and a continuing good positive attitude.
  9. Sorry to hear of the news, all the best wishes for good health a short recovery and a brighter future.
  10. Had trouble with mine from the beginning (2005) took it back to the dealer for repair at his cost, didn't cure the problem. Then came across a set of LED's on sale dirt cheap at a Walmart clearance sale, hooked them up and have never had an issue yet. Go for it.
  11. Funny but all I can think of is how much of the beer was wasted! Almost makes me wanna cry....honey get me a beer to cry into. would ya.
  12. Let's just say then that pike cost you $1000. Sorry to hear you didn't scoop a prize, but congats on the nice pike!
  13. Live emerald shiners. Gulp live emerald shiners. Small white plastic grubs, tubes etc. and I have had luck with small hairy white jigs with a pink head. If all else fails then a box of worms!
  14. Have to agree, prob cheaper or about the same cost to just go ahead and buy it. Stuff (toys) are much all made cheaply in China these days...unfortunately, we all helped to create this problem so I can't beak off about it. However, if you happen to have the materials kicking around then make it. As said poplar would do you well and like you said, it is a lot more special if you were to make it for her and that does speak for itself. My son and I made the wife a foot stool years ago as a Christmas gift from him. Bought MDF, wheels, hinges, foam and upolstry material for a total of about 20 or so bucks. Now days you can find a similiar styled one for around 20 or 30 bucks at several stores but none of them have wheels or a flip up lid so she she can store her blanket and books inside or are they as strong as this home made one. Not only that but she wouldn't part with it for anything...with that said I change my mind about buying and you should make her a bed no matter the cost!
  15. Saw those at Crappy Tire in Stoney Creek. My thoughts were, "Pretty neat, and Holly $&!t look at the price!"
  16. I'm very saddened by the news. Like Spiel I had always intended to visit him on Simcoe or drop in so I could meet him in person. We had conversed many times a few years ago on the internet or email and sadly I have let the opportunity to meet with him pass. Someday Shane we may have the chance to meet spiritualy. All the best to the family and I'm sure your spirit will fish Simcoe's waters for ever more. R.I.P.
  17. I think I've said this before, if you're cheap like me forget the Chronzy's and drop into No Frills and pick up a box of their no name breading, crispy chicken is OK. Just wet the fillets with egg or whatever, roll them in the breading and fry. For a buck or so for a box of 2 pouches it can't be beat and tastes good too. However be warned, it hasn't been tested for the state of California so it may cause cancer.
  18. My parents used to go to 3 Worlds RV Resort near Davenport FL. Not that I'd recommend the place but they rented a park model trailer from the park manager the 1st year for about 4 or 5 months. In following years they rented one from their longtime friend for 2 to 3 months in the winter season, cash $$ in the same park. They enjoyed the atmosphere and made new friends from across the States and from home and that was long enough away for them. Renting took the burden of ownership in a foreign country away from them and they could come and go as they pleased, no attachments was best. When my fathers health began to fail there were no troubles such as expenses, upkeep and concerns, memories are a great keepsake. The relaxed and social gatherings in a well operated RV park can be rewarding with events like bingo, pot luck dinners, pool and group tours etc. Worth looking into as an option. Enjoy your upcoming Snowbird status.
  19. We all are guilty of something or other. Glad to hear that concerns have been aired and perhaps those that fish and those that ski the lake will now be somewhat harmonized. Happy fishing
  20. Don't have an ETech but a 2005 Johnson 25 hp 2 stroke. I estimated the first 10 hour break in and took it in for the inspection. The dealer was fine with it.
  21. Ya but you can smoke anything it will taste better. Just wondering....which end does he light
