  1. Betcha felt like this eh Trailer package, one would assume that yes, it does come with a hitch.
  2. LOL, I know, some days I feel exactly that way but you can still fish without a boat, not nearly as great an experience but lately it takes all I have to get up and get going. Once I'm on the move it's not bad but the stiffness and leg pain is getting worse and the walking and standing on concrete all day at work is taking it's toll. I want to keep the boat but the thought of just letting it go has crossed my mind more than a couple of times over the past winter. And the fact that the new(er) car has to have a hitch installed reinforces the idea. Maybe I need some support to convince me to run the car in and just git-r-done! The car can tow my boat. What I find is that it's hard to believe though there is a class 3 hitch to fit it. The boat, trailer, motor and gear I have does not weigh more than 1000 pounds.
  3. http://flyer.canadia...ion=entryflash& This weeks Crappy Tire ad (page 23) reads Trailer hitches at 20% off. It does not say anything about restrictions, class, special order or the sale is on in stock product only. The hitch for a Ford 500 is not an in store stock item naturally as there are not millions of these cars zipping along the roads. The class 2 hitch is regular price, not on sale and has to be ordered from their warehouse. The fella on the phone gave me an 800 number to call to voice my complaint, OK I'm fine with that but not happy that the store will not honour the advertisement. I might call them tomorrow or just say forget it as I did get a decent installed price including wiring from Hitch World and they have a 5% online coupon. It's either put a hitch on the Ford or sell the boat! Hey maybe I'll just say forget it and sell the boat! Probably won't get much use out of it anymore with bad knees and such as it is. Just my little rant for the day.
  4. Bump it up! If only I could do it I'd apply. Hope someone here knows somebody for the job. Looks like a good way to spend a spring and summer
  5. Talented and funny for sure, RIP Roger. My link
  6. Must be the stuff they use to glue together those breaded chicken cutlets that are made from chunks of meat and pressed into steak shape glob of meat and those weiner shnitchels that are chopped up pieces stuck together that some restaurants are trying to pass off as the real thing. Even had chicken balls in a chineses restaurant that were made from 1/4" size chunks rolled up, battered and fried. Not very appealing.
  7. No problem I probably didn't word my post exactly right anyway and I should have taken more care in my wording, glad that you were on the ball with clarifying me.
  8. Yes Woodsman you are correct however he asked if his disabled permit was OK to use as his fishing license. It does say an Ontario issued permit, I assume then that an out of province issed permit is not eligable...unless you have one of federal or provincial issued pieces of documentation listed. Also BillyBob inquired if his permit would be OK, that then would not be from what I read above.
  9. Guess you could say that if 40 grand sounds like a cheap car to you. A demo at the Ford dealer in Burlington was 38 g's a couple of months ago. To me that isn't cheap.
  10. THE REG SAYS: Who needs to purchase an Ontario resident Outdoors Card and Fishing Licence Tag to fish in Ontario? Most Ontario residents need an Ontario-issued Outdoors Card and fishing licence tag to fish in Ontario if they are at least 18 years old but have not reached their 65th birthday. Who does not need to purchase an Outdoors Card and Fishing Licence Tag? A person is deemed to be the holder of a Recreational Fishing Licence if they are: Residents of Ontario and Canada under 18 years old, or 65 years of age or older and in possession of any licence, permit, certificate, or identification card issued by the Government of Canada or a provincial or territorial government of Canada that indicates their name and date of birth. Disabled Ontario and Canadian residents eligible for and in possession of: • A Canadian National Institute for the Blind National Identity Card issued to them OR • An Ontario Ministry of Transportation Accessible Parking Permit issued to them OR • A black and white photocopy or printed version of an electronic copy of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation Accessible Parking Permit accompanied by any licence, permit, certificate, or identification card issued by the Government of Canada or a provincial or territorial government of Canada that indicates the person's name and date of birth. Any licence, permit, certificate or identification card issued by the Government of Canada or a provincial or territorial government of Canada that indicates the person's name and date of birth where the individual must be accompanied by and require the direct assistance of another person to fish and follow applicable fishing laws due to a condition of mental impairment or a developmental disability, a learning disability or dysfunction, or a mental disorder. The person accompanying the above person does not require a fishing licence if they are only assisting, but must have a licence if they wish to engage in fishing. So then yes you must be an Ontario resident because you have to have an Ontario issued handicap parking permit. Not only is fishing free for those who hold a permit but parking at meters or city owned parking lots is at no charge for you also, at least in Hamilton, Burlington and Niagara Falls ON. Other cities I'd ask the meter maid first.
  11. Problem's not the car or the wiper motor...problem is you need to dump her and find a mechanically inclined girl so she can fix her own car, then when you have a problem with yours then she can fix it too! Oh yeah, make sure she likes fishing and if she has a boat even better!
  12. Mine has had bearing buddys right from the dealer, also has grease fittings on the backside of he hub from the trailer manufaturer. Yes I did once get water into a bearing. When I inspected it and replaced the bearings and seals I found out why. When the hubs were machined they left a small bur on the axle, right where the inner seal sits. Bur wore the seal and hence the milky grease. All is fine since. I believe in them and other than that no troubles. Funny thing about the dealer is he never responded to the email I sent to him in regards to this, not that I was after him for compensation just wanted him to know about it.
  13. Was thinking the same. Not much to do to improve on that either. Lot cheaper than a canoe or a store bought pontoon...Red Green has a fan from 'Bama
  14. Thanks for your help, going to go to Acme tomorrow and see what they have.
  15. $37 battery It's not a marine battery and I understand that there is a difference between batteries for different purposes but I have been using an old car battery for the past 3 years as a starter on my 25 hp boat motor without a glitch, however age has got to it and over the winter it has not been taking a charge. With replacement in sight I find it hard to ignore this option for only 37 bucks! Anyone ever used a starter battery other than marine and what happened? Thanks for your input.
  16. Nope! Will never pay that much to be pushed around, sneezed on and breathe a thousand farts. And what an insult, you have to pay almost as much to get your car in the gate as it costs for yourself...and your car didn't even ask to go! Loved it as a kid and a teen, it was an indicator to the end of winter too, but not at that price! I'm in my fifties and only remember it being at the CNE, never on Dixon Rd., sure you're not thinking of the fishing show?
  17. Like that reasoning Cliff, however you are a softee, should have waited until the end of March and got him to shovel after every snowfall.
  18. Far fetched, most have a valve that has to be pulled to release the contents, plus it is always on the underside of a motorhome and has a distictive cap on it. Otherwise a funny tale.
  19. Good sugestions from JohnF. Another to look into is Joe Girard, World's Greatest Salesman! "How To Close Every Sale" was probably his best, worth a look at anyway.
  20. Yep, wonder how many poodles will end up on Wiley's dinner plate before the nay sayers see the light and agree the population needs some control. Funny, if this were about a cormorant cull or about a spring bear hunt many of us would be in favour. . Strange eh? Just my couple of pennies worth.
  21. Dunno 'bout Yammy but Johnsons have a screw/spring tensioner at the top of the shaft, takes a regular size flat head screwdriver. Some smaller Merc's have a lever at the tiller base you slide from side to side.
  22. Fantastic! Never heard of a Wiper before.
  23. Do you have blinds or heavy drapes on the windows? If you do open them for air circulation. The biggest problem is the humidity level, you have to get it down. It sounds like you have done everything you could have but like said, check out a ventilation exchanger system. I read somewhere once that our bodys need a 45% or higher hmidity level for comfort and to keep our skin from drying out but our houses need it at about 9%. Impossible but it does give you something to think about. As for window perimeters not being insulated it could be, but your biggest problem is the humidity level. Couldn't tell you how often the office phone would ring in the fall of the year after heating season had started with window condensation issues. "Well we never had condensation before on our old windows, must be the new windows are no good." was a common saying. Problem was their old windows leaked so bad that they had an air exchange, new ones sealed the house up to a new level and water vapour formed on the glass surface. Sometimes We would walk into a house and it felt like you were walking into a sauna in New Orleans in the summer. Windows would be covered in thick curtains, no exhaust fans, humidifier turned on, laundry drying in the basement etc...
  24. When I bought the Ford in October the salesman told me a chipped key cost about $72. But I didn't actually inquire with the parts desk. Guess if he was right then that dealer is offering a deal at that price.
  25. Nice catch. How did they taste? Used to be a redneck, name of Glenn 'round OFC that fished them frequently. Miss his reports and comments.
