Infriggincredible! So glad you had remembered to bring the camera -
Nice reply to Cliff! What a nice respectful way to say thank you to someones professional opinion! You gave a real response. I and many others here will all agree that Cliff deserves an apology. You sure you aren't the same guy I had to put in his place at work this afternoon? As for the motor repair, get a 2nd opinion from another shop if it makes you feel better. Let a pro fix it and the peace of mind out on a deserted lake outrunning a thunderstorm will pay dividends.

Good report Dave, glad to here of your great day. Was on the riv yesterday morning, saw a couple of boats trying for perch at the mouth, don't know if they were catching or feeding the gobies though. Will be interesting to see if your bud gets on TV

Good one.

A happy day to you too Lew Off to work for me this A:M. Did get out fishing yesterday though, what a scorcher! Then came home and put the window AC units in so we would be able to sleep in comfort. Finally sat down at 'bout 7:00 and the pain in my knee reminded me that I forgot to go to a doctor appointment for a follow up on it and prob another cortisone shot. Enjoy the sunshine today everyone.

Lew gotcha Dave. Someone had to do it.

Like they say, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Great picture.

You're Dad's a smart guy, too bad there aren't more boat operators as smart as him. Many of us have been that person in a canoe or any other type of small boat and had to deal with those lunatics kicking up a high wake. Doesn't matter if you are in open water or not, "captains" of bigger craft still have to be on the lookout for the safety of others. Even if it means you have to be inconvenienced by slowing down. Two reasons I didn't fish this past Victoria day weekend, #1 is the idiots on the water, and #2 is the fact the one who wears the pants in the family and I put in a new kitchen floor. I have tomorrow off anyway and will hook up and launch then when hopefully the morons are at work. Wayne: Should have told her to wait right there while I shoot back to get my camera! Smart ass arrogant little carp eh!

Go to Google maps and type in Canadian Centre for inland waters for a detailed map of the Burlington Canal Lift bridge area. Zoom into the canal area. You can park for free on either side of Beach Blvd. If you take the roadway where the Fisherman's Pier sign is you can pull up and park about 20 ft. from the edge of the canal. You can also fish on the Lake Ont. side of the Beach Strip or the harbour/Burlington Bay side. Perch are also caught there. Looking forward to your report.

I never thought of that, I couldn't find the receipt but I went to crappie tire as I didn't want to drive up to LeBaron and told the guy what happened, not saying where I bought it hoping to get an exchange, (Why not try eh? All the crap I see pulled for refunds where I work) and he said no. You made good point, perhaps contacting them direct would result in a favourable solution.

Exactly what I was thinking...well sort of. And the quote below is why I agree...

Forget the older 4 stroke, get it out of your mind. Then do a comparison of the Etec to these 4 strokes Merc, Johnson, Yammie and Honda. Do some research regarding price and owner satisfaction on these and you will at least be comparing apples to apples and oranges to oranges, even though the technology is different. Let me ask it this way. If you were buying a car, a 6 year old Ford sitting at a dealer for all that time and aging and a new Ford off right the line and the money wasn't much of an issue would you really want the older car that has been sitting and deteriorating or the brand new one? Same thing, an outboard and a car, both sit unused for a long time, aging still happens whether it has been used or not.

I did have an Ugly Stick Lite. I did like using this pole for eyes and bass however I didn't like the surface paint chipping off it and then the reel seat broke, that was the end of it. Now it's nothing but a garden stake!

Hey thanks for posting this. Now I am bored enough to be able to get back to sleep. Knew there would be something or someone on OFC this morning that could erase all the thoughts and ideas that were racing through my mind as I laid in bed at 3 - 4 A:M trying to get back to rest..Good night and see you when the sun comes up. Must have scored yourself some cheap crack.

I always remembered this TV advertisement for VW from years ago. Did a You Tube search and found it right away!

Impossible to be bear scat Lew. I didn't see any of this in it or next to it.

Opps! Good post Lew, I meant to reply to your other thread...got this one. Nice pic of the salad BTW.

Got one like Jimmer pictured on my tiller seat and a clamp down on another. Both have swivels also. One hint, don't lubricate the runners with wd40 or a silicone spray. You'll be sliding right off the end when you hit rough water or turn. Also tie the seat down with a bungee cord when traveling to keep it from sliding out the end.

I would have packed up my gear after throwing up if I had brought that in Dave.

Dave, I was to be a player at the craps table. It's interesting to watch the movie and pick out the background people, dealers etc. and recognize them. I should have done it just for the experience alone. Not likely comp would have got wind of it anyway.

We all are going to have to pay for this eventually. In more ways than one. -
Owning Mahowny A bank manager (Hoffman) with: (a) a gambling problem and ( access to a multi-million dollar account gets into a messy situation. Based on the story of the largest one-man bank fraud in Canadian history. Starring: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Minnie Driver, John Hurt Wednesday May 12 7-9pm Many of my friends appeared in this Canadian made movie about a hard time gambler who actually lived in Burlington ON. I was asked to play a very, very small part in it but turned it down as I was on workers comp at the time. I missed my chance at fame LOL Oh well, maybe in another lifetime It is interesting to me personally anyway to see some of the people I knew that also worked(s) in the gaming business. If you have some time to kill it may be worth watching.

You must have a screw drive opener? Chain drives have a gear in them, a plastic one, and I hear about them from at least one customer every week giving out on them. Wish I had some advise for you about repairing them. Price the parts and compare the cost to a new opener and if it isn't too much do as tb4me said.

Wife and I went to the lower Grand this morning to give a first try for eyes this year. Cold, windy, cloudy and the waves around Powell's were trying to hit the 2' level with the wind howling straight up the river at that point. Pretty calm though when we were out of the wind. Since not a bight was had I have to assume that even the sheephead were not too nuts about leaving the water for a visit above the surface to see what the weather was like. I am surprised at how low the water is this spring Gravel and beach shoreline sections are exposed to look like it could be late season after a long drought. Next time look out fish!

An old one but still funny.
