I "googled" boilies for carp fishing and was surprized that Amazon sells all kinds along with pre-tied hair rigs and plastic stoppers...My old friend Photoz used to use Dole "Summer Sweet" corn on his hair when he couldn't find maize...not as durable as maize but a can lasts a long time...

The second best thing about carp fishing...sitting around telling lies to each other while waiting for a bite
-
Our group of carpers fished Little Lake for years....the smallest I saw was about 15 lbs...mostly 18 to 22 lbs...my son caught a 25 lbr. five years ago (our last carp fishing adventure) A friend got a 30 lbr... I miss carp'n a lot but my health failed me the past few years so it is playing with the play fish now... No slot size for carp but you will need a licence to fish for any species...lots of luck Mate

The Microsoft callers hang up on me when I tell them that my son who works for Microsoft (true) is the only person who is allowed to touch my computer... The lastest scam (extortion) is someone wanting $1400 in gift cards or they will send out the porn I have been watching to all my contacts...

Very nice old friend...anywhere is yours now...

Only tried smelt fishing once many years ago at the mouth of the Rouge River under the railway bridge...got lots and spent half the rest of the night cutting the heads off with a pair of scissors and running my thumbnail up the belly to remove the guts...I bought them ever since...I think they were from Georgian Bay...Bigger and tastier !

You and me too Victor...last time was three years ago when my son caught one below the pump house over twenty pounds... Nobody fishing there now or chumming... I guess the carp moved on...

Sounds like my old tin can...Paid $150 for it and probably spent over $200 on various kinds of guck and muck and never did stop the leak... Finally gave up and tried to live with it...Fashioned a portable bilge pump with an old motorcycle battery... Not stable enough on my feet to go boating anymore (pontoon boats excepted) so I gave it to Motiv8tor...

I wear mine without socks around the house all the time...I find them much cooler than slippers...My foot doctor recommended that I wear socks with them while outdoors as I am diabetic ( same with my running shoes)

Think about you every spring when crappie fishing (you know where) and wonder how you are...

My bro-in-law has that raynauds disease and I didn't mind baiting his hook but when it came time for him to take a leak he was on his own...Sorry Uncle Dave ! I never had trouble seeing to tieing knots until I had my cataracts removed...they asked if I wanted to be short sighted or long sighted and seeing as how I drive I went for long...and use reading glasses to see up close...Palomar has been my knot of choice ever since I mastered it If'n I forget my glasses It is just the plain old cinch knot which was no problem so far with crappie and blue gills...LOL -
Some years we get a pair nesting in the ditch at the front of our property...
