  1. MB picked up one at a Pampered Chef Party a couple of years ago and I like it not only for french fries but it makes great chicken wings ! ... Only problem I have is digging it out of a corner on the kitchen counter so we don't use it all the time...great for reheating fish and chips !!!
  2. Yep...Nice mess of fishes !...Reminds me of fall fishing with Crappieperchunter !
  3. A good read in my books !
  4. Needs some ginger/garlic sauce to dip in !
  5. How well I remember being at the funeral home with Meely and how crowded it was...it was difficult to get near Lew to let him know we came...Sad day.
  6. My nieces husband once told my bro-in-law "You show me a fish in this lake I can't catch at noon hour and maybe I will get up early !"...LOL
  7. Great story Bye...I loves fish'n with my boys too (sons, grand sons, and great grand son...cripes I'm getting old eh?) With this damn COPD I don't do the walking now so the grand son bought a pontoon boat so that I can get out on the lake again...He's a good lad...I tells his mother !
  8. Last time I carp fished Little Lake at P'Borough was before the die-off...My son landed a dandy about 25 lbs. but unfortunately we had no camera...Had to leave early to go pickup my Father's Day gift of a mobility scooter !
  9. Green onion and a little sesame oil not necessary other than to give the dish a bit of a finishing touch
  10. Don't forget the fresh garlic and green onion and I like a few drops of sesame oil at the end of cooking !
  11. Lucky you !...The closest we get for dinner is chicken wieners and Clarkes beans...LOL
  12. We have been hearing lots of thunder the past hour or so here in Trent Lakes...
  13. I don't usually post/reply to this type of listing but seeing as how my grandson Robert traded in his runabout for a pontoon because it is the only boat I am capable of getting on and off I feel a bit obligated to ask about the above places...anyone fish these and any tips ? He is working up that way this week...Thanks Guys or Gals
  14. I don't think there can be any secret spots in the GTA anymore...When I was a young lad living in the east end (TO) we used the TTC to get to the Grenadier Pond in High Park or to the ferry boats to the Islands or Humber Bay, Etobicoke creek or the Credit River...There is also the Leslie Street Spit or Ashbridges Bay for carp...Eastwards there was Highland Creek, Rouge River and Frenchman's Bay (both open water and ice fishing at Frenchman's) I have to add that I haven't been a young lad for many years (70) and lots have changed since when I last fished there...Best of luck !
  15. Looks like sumpin' Poor Old Michael Finigin would use !!!
  16. 5 hours ago, dave524 said: The name Walleye didn't become common here till we started watching American fishing shows My grand pappy called them pickerel...Dad called them pickerel...I call them pickerel... my sons call them pickerel...my grandson calls them pickerel and his son will probably call them pickerel...Long live the name pickerel !!!l
  17. A 2 1/2 ounce smoke colored salted tube under a slip float has served me well for many years for both large and small mouth bass and of course The Worlds Greatest Sportfish (Rock Bass) likes them too...
  18. And I would bet they would say they were fishing for musky !!!
  19. For crappie and bass on your lake I usually do tail down as they are mostly looking up for bait...Pickerel, I do tail up as they are usually at the bottom and if the tail is down it would just drag on the bottom giving it no action...Under a bobber, either way...
  20. One of our grandsons had his 1st taste of my order of liver and onions sitting out there...Don't think he cared much for it...
  21. I guess $0.25 was the going rate...As a kid fishing off the causeway at Port Perry with some Jewish gentlemen that is the amount I received...They would supply me with some of their cornmeal/flour doughballs and I used some green line from the hardware store that was wrapped in paper for a hand line...whirl it around my head and out she goes...😄 Now I have European Carp gear similar to what our old friend Photoz used that cost him $1350...After watching him cast it like a Tiger Woods tee shot I was hooked on fishing Carp again Crappieperchunter and Photoz unhookin' a goodun' at P'Boro
  22. The Main Street Restaurant on Buckhorn must use those for their English fish and chips ... 1 French Fry goes from one side of a plate to the other side in the middle,,,LOL !
  23. In my house it is the cats (2) that watch TV especially if there are birds, they will try getting around the back to see where the chirping is coming from or will chase the puck during a hockey games...All cats are mental but nice company... No more dogs as we are not fit healthwise in our old age totake care of them as they should be...🙁
  24. Cripes !...All I need to do is sit on my front deck but I believe there is some kind of bi-law against discharging firearms in the village...Oh well ☹️! I get some of these creatures also but the same bi-law applies...
  25. This is Chiquita which we inherited from Maribeth's dying sister who could no longer care for her... The family figured we should be the ones to take her as we were home all day and have lots of room for her to run to lose weight... She was madly in love with the Burmese Mountain dogs across the road and every time she wandered off, sure enough that was where we would find her... Not too sure how long we had her but at about 12 years old we had to have her put down😪 I wanted to call her "Footstool" but didn't... (Maribeth wouldn't let me LOL) She loved to go for a ride in my old truck "To the dump, to the dump, to the dump dump dump "
