  1. The main reason I have hesitated switching my phone to Cable Cable is if the power goes out then you end up with no computer, no TV nor no phone...besides I would need another remote phone for the garage...but the $99.99 plus taxes price tag looks appealing vs the $149.67 I'm putting out monthly...Not sure if there is an installation charge for a phone...
  2. "Best of luck with your peep Norm. Look forward to hearing how it improved your sight Norm. My date is March or April for both peeps. I no longer feel the need to laugh at old people." Hey Brian Have only had the cataracts removed from my right eye so far but I no longer need to wear glasses (have since I was twelve years old)so I am looking forward to having the left eye done...Hopefully I will be able to see my float move from a distance while crappie fishing this coming spring...
  3. Got a call from my eye guy's office with the date for my left eye cataract removal (Feb 25) so took a quick look at the weather for February 2015...looks like we are in for a lot more snow all month...damn the luck !!!

  7. In the fall at Rice lake we would get down to the wharf early to get a good spot before the hordes arrived...Most of our crappie were caught between 09:00PM and midnight... I sometimes got up early (04:00 AM) and caught some then before daylight...catch one perch and the crappie are gone !!! I still remember the night we got into some big slabs and threw them back... An oriental gentleman came running over..."Hey mister, you no throw back...you give me !... "No way Jose...not after we found out you were selling them back in Toronto "
  8. I still got my Pocket Fisherman complete with the original tackle and float...The kids would fight over who was going to use it ice fishing...LOL

  14. Cripes Brian...Who knows ? Maribeth and I had four kids each from our first marriages...They gave us 16 grandkids... then they gave us 6 great-grandkids as far as we know as they are scattered all over and some are not in touch...and that is just our contribution to the total...Lol Maribeth is one of nine children so the number multiplies quickly... No great-greats yet...our latest great was a week ago yesterday...

  17. Our original plans got changed in a hurry...We were going to have catfish fillets for Maribeth (vegetarian) and ham for me, but, who should show up but Maureen with a turkey she got up early to cook for me and a tofu turkey roast for her mother along with some mini potatoes and a frozen bag of organic corn niblettes ...For dessert she brought a tray of various homemade goodies: cookies, date squares and cheesecakes... Today is the big dinner for the family (70-80 some odd peeps) held in a church hall in Toronto...
  18. Christmas of 1948 (at 12 years of age) I received my very first spring steel rod and a Shakespear Wonder reel... Before that I fished with a hand line for carp, suckers and catfish or cut down a good length of a branch or a bamboo pole with a hook, line, sinker and a float...
  19. Ohhh...Groan...Cliff, Cliff, Cliff !!!

  21. Looks like AVG 2015 Free has solved the problem I was having with the pop-up messages I was receiving...None have appeared since I ran the AVG program...It has disabled my Windows Defender program but I'll try living without it for now...Superspyware still runs as scheduled
  22. At a hotel I worked at one of the chefs told me that liver should be treated the same as a steak with a bit of pink in the center not burnt to the bejeezes like my mother used to cook it until it was like shoe leather... After trying they way the chef cooked it I became a fan of liver...
  23. The past few days I have been receiving messages that my computer may be infected and that I should call their 888 long distance number ...yep, infected with their message...once it pops up you can't delete it unless you re-boot...Superspyware and Windows Defender can't seem to delete it nor will Pop-up Stopper...I just downloaded and ran AVG 2015 Free and so far nothing has shown up yet...AVG deleted 7 threats...hopefully one of them was the one I'm trying to get rid of...
  24. Jerry of Pefferlaw Fish Huts down at the bottom of Holmes Point Road (where the motel is)...nice dining room for breakfast, Jerry would bring us out great hamburgers and pop for lunch and check up on us to see if we were on fish...depending on how busy he was, he would move us to another hut if we weren't catching...
  25.
