  1. Thanks Shane... It was a slow drive to P'Boro...Curve lake Road (for gas @ $0.93.9) and Selwin Road were plowed and driving on Chemong Road you could actually see the pavement in the car tracks...36 and 23 had been well salted and sanded...
  2. Looks like we're are right on the edge of the system here, about 2" on the ground and still snowing light... Same here up "Caygeon way...I hope it is the same south of here...I gotta go to P'Boro for a BCG treatment at the hospital tis afternoon...
  3. I'm not a big fan of Christmas...seem to suffer a depression this time of year...probably has sumpin' to do with my first marriage... I do like to hear "O Holy Night" by Johnny Mathis

  7. The maddening thing about getting the first one right quick is thinking they must be on fire...I'll let this one go and keep a couple later for a feed...Then, later never happens...LOL!
  8. Years ago my wife bought me a pair of gloves out of the Regal catalogue, they were white with many sparkely stuff (metallic) woven in them...not waterproof but warm... I wear them in my HT Polar Liner (fleece lined) rough textured rubber mitts...easy to fling off when you get a bite or hit when ice fishing or when snow shoveling...If memory serves me, I bought them from Le Baron's...
  9. Carp will spool you if you have your drag set too loose...I now use a lighter fluorocarbon (12 lb test) when I tie my hair rigs vs my 17 lb mono main line...now if it looks like I'm about to get spooled, I stop the spool with my hand and if sumpin' breaks, it's usually just the hair rig and I don't lose my spring or method feeder or my main line...
  10. I just bought 4 different cartridges for my Epsom Stylus NX130... Even with the $9.95 for shipping it would have been cheaper at Inkjet Superstore... I ended up paying more for the four cartridges than I paid for the printer itself... What a rip-off !!!
  11. Like Lew said...retirement is GREAT!...Best job I ever had... Every day is a holiday to do whatever you wish...well except when you got a doc's appointment...
  12. Maybe the testers or others would invest in your idea as partners or shareholders to help defray the costs of copywriting or patenting ...
  13. All the best of Thanksgiving eats to our friends south of the border...
  14. I really miss the chop suey noodle soup we used to get from the Noodle House on Dundas Street near Elizabeth Street...it had everything in it from shrimp and squid to chicken, beef, pork, chicken liver and some odd veggies...YUM ! Also miss the seafood noodle soup from the Green Curry (food court) under the parkette beside the CBC Broadcast Centre...TASTY !
  15. "OK, someone out there has to be able to convert Lew, at least for one memorable trip." Some of us tried...Lew even bought his own ice fishing tackle, but promptly sold it shortly afterwards...LOL
  16. Poor health has curtailed my ice fishing activities the past few years...My last trip was in my backyard the year they opened the Kawarthas for panfish and I came up empty... I'm now with Lew...Bring on the Spring !!!
  17. My son in London told me the 100 K winds tore off some roofs down that way including some of the ones the company he works for built... I noticed some branches down out the back...
  18. This is my all-time favorite instrumental... "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" from "West Side Story"
  19. I also will bring my own book or magazine...I have six sessions of BCG treatments coming up soon...reading gives me sumpin' to do while I'm waiting for the catheter to drain my bladder...
  20. Happy Birthday my friend...
  21. The thread about the flu shot brought to mind the practice of reading the magazines in doctor's offices...I don't because most of the people there are sick with sumpin' or another...Do you ???
  22. Our doc holds a flu shot clinic every year for his patients 65 years of age and older...I am always amazed at the number of seniors that show up...Maribeth and I have been getting the shot ever since we moved up here in 2003 and hardly ever get a cold never mind the flu...
  23. Usually they try to represent Microsoft... "Oh!...you must know my son Mike...he works for Microsoft (true)...I'll let him know you called...He takes care of our computer for us..." That ends the conversation right quick...
  24. I only remember them from the newspaper...I also have the book around here somewhere...
  25. Scugog Causeway 1920s... Any old timers here remember Jimmy Frise and Greg Clark ???
