  1. Driving out to a spot wearing shoes, jogging pants and no toque, even at -20 is a fantastic thing. Only in the winter can I take 3 or 4 hours out of my day and easily get to some good fishing with VERY little effort. I love mid-season ice fishing... it can be as easy or challenging as I wish on any particular day. Callander Bay (nipissing) provided some great fishing today. Fished 12-14fow, near a shallow bay, using a tiny buckshot spoon and a minnow head. I tallied 11 walleye, 4 big perch and finally, my first whitefish in a LONG time. Catching a whitefish has been a recent goal of mine, and even though I was not really targeting that species today, it was great to finally catch one. Here are the photos from Callander Bay: Here is a video of JoeyTier catching a nice pike from Nipissing. My narration of "that's a 15 pounder" is NOT accurate haha. 2. Hunter and gatherers don't have proper toilet ettquette, Sinclair! You should just grunt at your neighor and take over his/her portable hut
  3. Same here, somehow my body understands priorities. Fishing first. Sometimes I get nervous though, especially after eating that 6am Tim's bereakfast BELT.
  4. Awesome! couldn't be more envious
  5. Time for worm pickers to seize their opportunity!!
  6. hahaha to "the meat hunter" with the stinger hook. Make that stinger a size 1 and it can be called "the snagger". Looks good T.J. I'll bookmark it and keep it on my online shopping list.
  7. My mazda would of strolled away with nothing but a few dusty spots... Christ, that's one heck of an impact. I wouldn't expect otherwise given the size of that jump and the angle of departure.
  8. you guys know how to bread a walleye! I need to learn that. Sounds like a well paced weekend...you did lots but didn't seem too hectic.
  9. Great average size! I'd take a day like that anytime!
  10. Fantastic hahaha
  11. Fairly bland and mushy on their own. Definitely safe to eat though. If you have some culinary creativity, I'm sure you could mix up a delicious way of eating them!
  12. Nipissing bound. Another 40 walleye today? looking for a 5lbs walleye or 10lbs ling!

Oh man. So stoaked for next week. Even with me holding down the number of walleye we catch we should still do well. :D

  13. Great morning read. Love your style.
  14. Not too many guys would venture out in conditions like that. Cheers to you.
  15. That's what I was thinking haha. Great fishing guys!
  16. Looks great. Now if only the IP website would work properly on my BB life would be better. I barely bother checking in anymore from my phone what a pain in the butt... edit: everytime I change to IP Mobile on my phone, the site (on my computer) goes to IP Mobile, yet my phone reverts back to the default page which is not formatted for the phone. I might have to open a second account just so I can use my phone again.
  17. Nice shiny fish! I like shiny
  18. Hahaha. Maybe that means you have crappy rods in your eyes... you know, rods and cones...
  19. yikes, hwy 17 between NBay and Sturgeon Falls is closed...I have to go pick up a friends young daughter at school because she's stuck in the closure.
  20. Roads are terrible in and around North Bay, including to the north. Looks like its even worse in the south. Lots of closures....the MTO website can't even keep up. I guess we are making up for the generally good driving conditions and mild winter from last year. http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/traveller/trip/map.shtml?ll=50.148746,-85.605468&z=5
  21. Excellent video. I even put the hockey game on mute for this
  22. Oh man! I'd go all "double rainbow" if I caught a fish like that.
  23. I'd suggest you thaw and eat... Most meat can't handle double freezing without losing flavor or posing a health risk (like chicken). Its only 5 small ones, so take 'em out the day before you eat them, filet and throw in pan right away. No issues there. I've kept full walleye in my fridge for a couple days and the meat was still ok and didn't taste any different
  24. I predict a terrbile birdnest coming on.
