  1. Enjoy breakfast!
  2. you put smelt much higher than I would have haha. All freshwater for me...not a huge fan of most ocean fish. Rainbow Trout walleye speckled trout whitefish white bass perch smelt pike bass ling fallfish/herring/rockbass/goldeye never caught crappies...but I'm sure they'd be up there.
  3. Great ling. They are quite the interesting species!
  4. over the past year I averaged probably two to three servings per week... mostly perch, walleye, trout and relatively often pike, bass and ling. I will buy a slab of salmon/arctic char once in a while, but mostly I catch my fishy dinners. In my small household, walleye is definitely our favorite although the wife is really keen on trout! What's your fish-eating routine like? ( waiting for Bill to say "Once this year" )
  5. no technology needed...except a camera of course Cool video
  6. I dont' care if the guy kept it, just cashing in on an opportunity to jab a Trout Creekian (Uncle lives there...he keeps everything too!). Can't image that thing tasting good unless you stuffed it's massive cavity with 6 pounds of garlic, pepper and salt. The only REALLY nice eating lakers I've seen are from LSPP, like the one in Joey's thread.
  7. Ha, I may be small and wimpy, but I can talk big
  8. From Trout Creek...guaranteed that fish got pan fried with bacon.
  9. Love the owl shots! nice suprise. What's next? haha
  10. I was gonna say, my sherpa skills won't match Bills, especially at 155lbs soaking wet. My dad got a 27" walleye on Nipissing this weekend, that's the biggest I've seen from there.
  11. Im no expert, but I've caught ling in mid march in 30fow with eggs in their bellies, so I'd venture to guess they spawn a bit later in the seaons.
  12. Lots of options on Highway 17 west, especially in Algonquin Park!
  13. There are great odds Alex will grow up to be a sportsman...and a Maclays drinker haha. Great pics for sure Nick. The iphone camera seems a bit better overall than my BB camera, but regardless, like you said, it's very handy and saves carrying an extra piece of equipment. I delete my photos as I go, but here are a couple from an early morning laker trip and a couple from Nipissing this Saturday.
  14. Lake Superior Provincial Park...one of Ontario's finest I might add
  15. same here, can't wait to get them... my dad is in for a treat with these.
  16. Since I started this thread, am I automatically invited?
  17. I'd be freaked out if I caught a walleye that color in any of my area lakes haha. Great catches
  18. nice catches!
  19. I thought bassassins were closer to the Ottawa area...?? North Bay here....but you guys don't consider this the north haha. Dana, another member on here, lives near Cobalt and might have some interest...
  20. The meat on those fish looks incredibly delicious and most importantly...high in calories! Looks like the fishing trip turned into a mostly survival/staying dry trip. I can't imagine anyone would be completely prepared/well-equipped for a trip like that unless they've already had experience doing it in bad-weather conditions
  21. incredibly fat...it was a late ice female. I'll get a photo off him if i can
  22. Ok, so my mid 20's walleye don't seem so fantastic anymore haha. Muddler: you are one lucky guy! Keep that spot tightly sealed!
  23. wow, what is that, like 29?
  24. Just heard from a guy that a guy that another guy knows saw a pic of some guy with a 34" walleye from Nipissing. Ok, so it's barely plausible but I like to believe it's true. We all saw that pic of the 34" (i think it was 34") walleye from Temagami....I'm wondering what other first hand or sixth hand stories you've heard of big walleye coming from Canadian waters. I've also seen my buddy pull in a 15 pound walleye from Nosobonsing, It measured around 30 inches. My biggest walleye from an back lake was around 24"
