ha! I'm no skier, but its a change of scenery, plus 2 of those days are mostly driving.

  2. Helicopters are naturally very loving creatures that will help any critter, mechanical or not. I saw one nurse a baby wolf to health once. In North Bay we call them the Jesus bird.
  3. Its in chalk river from what I understand.
  4. Great map Dave! Some important-to-me features are missing, such as camping spots, Numbered Lakes and some fairly well-used portages. Crazy that it shows exposed rocks in lakes...although I can confirm it missed a few I did just find an abandoned railway that I'd like to check out this summer. It's very useful map and just made me miss 10minutes of hockey. Saved to favorites.
  5. It showed portage routes, fish species, unammed lake ID's, areas of interest, township lines, park borders, access points, trails, snowmobiles trails etc etc. It might have shown land topo and select lake topo's as well. It was great for general recreational in Northern Ont. I sent Geoma (the creating company) an email to see what they say and if it'll return... I'll hazard to guess that it relied on advertising and they were not making money on it.
  6. Love this idea! My only question is, do they need any product testers? Highly doubt I could afford or would spend this much on equipment this good. I guess I'll continue using bottom bouncers and brain memory for my uncharted lakes.
  7. This was a great resource for northern ontario. Anyone know why it's been taken down? It's been at least two weeks since it has worked.
  8. great Lynx shots and awesome fishing.
  9. Yes, winter tires are very common, especially north of Barrie. North of North Bay, we can legally have studs as well. My Corolla has winters. Noticed a big difference and my summers last a couple years longer now, also once I get winter rims, my nice rims will last longer. More money up front, but definitly worth it in the long run. My Mazda Truck has knobby mud tires and are not great on wet/ice, so I use 4x4 and drive quite slow on the highways when they are covered in snow.
  10. For those looking.... Apparently they are paying quite well. Apply by this Sunday as they need to fill the positions by Monday. http://www.adventis.ca/job-details.php?ref=2040 http://www.adventis.ca/job-details.php?ref=2037
  11. I feel you bud! 10 tens skunked-streak on a particular lake has finally been broken with a single 14 or 15 inch laker. I also did a happy dance, but two other guys watched me and said "it's about time". haha.
  12. Congrats on placing. Looks like a great time!
  13. Unless you can lose weight or gain a meaningful amount of muscle by doing an activity, I don't consider it a sport. Sure some guys try to stay in top shape for fishing, but that's just their choice. I expect someone to rebut with "baseball"...and, well, I agree.
  14. Good stuff guys, sounds like you've chosen a good set of habits to not break...mainly, having a good time together!
  15. Water resistant isn't water proof... not sure I would trust water resistant with my $500 device. I thought I saw something at wholesale sports or cabelas that was similar, but I could be mistaken.
  16. Thanks, great feedback. The hub on mine also broke because of an aggressive breakdown. I just registered last week, so I think I"ll wait for them to process the paper, then I'll call in a week or so and try to get the part covered. If not, I'll be calling yetman's for future replacement parts.
  17. "we don't test for beer, they would all fail"
  18. That's some great fishing...you've successfuly made my failed laker attempt look like a real amateur show. Best of luck with treatments MIke, seriously pulling for you!
  19. Someone PM'd me and said they might have some spare hubs from an older Eskimo, That is my best option if he can find them. Yetman's in Winnipeg may be able to procure the part and ship it out to me for less.... I'll call them next week. I'll also check my local CT and see if the outdoors section manager can order some in.... There is no way I'm paying over $30 for shipping, for a $7 part....I'll find a way around this.
  20. Maybe. I just sent in the warranty card, my next step was calling in asking "did you receive it ok :D"...still, I'd like to know if there is a more accessible distributor for the certain-to-happen future mishaps.
  21. Does anybody know a canadian distributer (preferably in N.Ontario) that sells/can sell parts for Eskimo shelters? We had a bit of a mishap the other day and broke a hub assembly. I found the part on geteskimo.com, and the part is only $8, but shipping was $30, minimum! Ha! ya right.
  22. Looks like it'll be a solo trip. 10 pounder for sure tonight.
  23. all you need are a couple lunches, 100 feet of line, some hooks and a pack of worms. What's the big deal?
  24. 4 hour drive, it's 1030, meet at 2:30.....perfect!! haha
  25. Anybody wanna go for an evening fish tonight? Thinking of leaving town around 230, maybe earlier. I'll be driving out in my truck....blair, joey, luc...anyone else? Winds are at 15kph, so they'll be nice walleye chop out there
