  1. hahaha. You should of added 3" chartreuse twister and a 1/4oz jig head right from the start.
  2. Same here. I ended up not missing it, but it will certainly replace some of the crappy evening tv shows I watch now. Lets see if I can take this year seriously.
  3. -1/4oz jig head with grub or minnow -any darter minnows -flutter spoons, dartees -wirek spoons (silver)
  4. Awsome! Who needs stinking walleye when you can catch beasts like that
  5. Fixed it for you. I'll vouch for T.J's tipups! Great for all species.
  6. That's great Blair! Too bad about Mr. Headshakes. Sounds like it was a haawwwg. No point in moving your shack, unless the fishing slows down.
  7. Nice pike Jer! Bet it was a great fight with ultralight... And I don't know how to catch crappie either haha. X2 to what joey said!
  8. They also like minnows... On any lake, I immediately look for transitions in the bottom structure. Fish the mornings and evenings in 10 to 20 feet of water wherever you can find : dropoffs, weeds, shoals, sunken islands, large shallow-flats near deep water. In my mind, I picture the fish moving in shallow during feeding hours; if you can intercept them, you'll likely catch a few.
  9. Ah, you skimped out on slush for your tip-up base and a pike/musky swung in and robbed you haha. Happens to the best of us
  10. awesome. I think I'd have to trade in my hand auger if I ever moved up there.
  11. When I was in Alert Nunavut for 4 months in winter, the arctic wolves would hide under the stilted buildings and sneak a nip or two at my (everyones) boots. They would sometimes group up and circle us, but it never felt like they were trying to get us. Mostly they would follow people in hopes that a lemming or hare would be flushed out and provide them an easy meal. Boy those wolves were big. One guy in the community used to take long walks with a single wolf in toe... They were buddies it seemed
  12. Great job guys! Freeze any leftover minnows you have this year. It's not worth throwing the leftovers on the ice anymore. or... do you have an aerator system for you garage Blair I know you have plenty of minnow traps.
  13. A fantastic report from top to bottom. You and Bren had a very accomplished year!
  14. Looks pretty busy for a back lake. Sounds like winter is finally starting for you Barrie guys. Great report, Brian and Terry.
  15. yup, good prices in that shop. I can always find one or two items to take home.
  16. And it begins!!! Dinner looked fantastic. I'd trade a lot to get into some whities this year.
  17. Very touching letter your daughter wrote. My condolences Jacques and may your family be strong in these tough times
  18. wow. You figure with Amazon already online, that more people would have joined the internet back then.
  19. 6-8 inches on a splake lake near north bay today. Cold as heck out there too
  20. Not on that thread, but I did get that warning for the first time on one of my recent PM's.
  21. I tried for 4 hours to get out with whatever nature had nearby and my dinky jack. When all that failed and I had no energy left, I called for Off-Road recovery and they got me out in 5 minutes haha This poor truck has seen so much terrain and abuse, but it gets me to some nice quiet lakes!
  22. Not the one while we were laker fishing, was it? I thought this was from our top secret walleye lake... I might be wrong however. The lakes must be locked up pretty good in your neck of the woods by now? Lets make plans
