  1. Some real beauties there! Thanx for sharing your photos.
  2. Sorry to hear of your loss. You obviously have many fond memories of Uncle Leo.
  3. The best is all the smiles on the youngsters! Nice job!
  4. My project for the winter is to wire brush, sand & paint my boat trailer. I was advised to use "plasti dip" paint from Home Hardware. It is a rubberized paint, flexible, won't crack, chip or become brittle. For me it's worth the effort. I have tried tremclad, armour coat & krylon in the past. The rust magically re appeared. Plasti dip is not cheap at $19.99 per 11 oz spray can. I'm going to remove the rust first by wire brushing the steel with a heavy duty wire brush mounted to my grinder, then spray several coats of "plasti dip". It also provides a non slip surface. How many time have you slipped off your trailer tongue while retreiving your boat?
  5. All of the above comments are really appreciated. I never forget the vets. I was not feeling well today so did not venture out of the house. I did however tune into the Hamilton news channel for over 2 hours to watch the ceremonies at the Hamilton warplane heritage museum. Wonderful to see 2200 people in attendance.
  6. Pairofgreenhorns - I like that handle! You'll get along well with most of us. Welcome to the board.
  7. I have tears in my eyes as I read your post. To lose an 18 year old is umimaginable. I hope you have the strength to get through this. My condolences to you & your family.
  8. So sad at such a young age. My prayers to you & your family.
  9. Disgusting! I'm happy to read that some of the poachers received 16 year prison sentences & stiff fines.
  10. Awesome pix! Thanx for showing off! LOL I agree - mighty fine of you to move the boat so wifey can cut the grass. She must be busy cutting grass 7 days a week??
  11. I wish to carry on the rant. When my 2 daughters came home from school & stated that spelling doesn't count - I almost lost it!! Where did the education system go? That was 25 years ago. Our education system is a flop! Thank fully our daughters have turned out to be well adjusted, educated ladies with children of their own & well paying occupations. I have to give thanx to mostly their mother & a little bit of my guidance. By the way they both enjoy the outdoors, fishing, camping, sitting by the campfire & gazing at the stars. I think that was my donation to their upbringing. Imagine this - at age 12 I had them walking out on Lake Eris for an afternoon of perchin! Woo Hoo!
  12. Drifter should go to jail - u stole it!! LOL! I have a 14' Lund with a MinnKota 54" shaft, 55 lb thrust bow mount with wireless remote co pilot. Nicest trolling motor I ever owned. I previously had a couple electric transom mounts. They do not compare to the bow mounts for boat control. You would definitely need a longer shaft for your boat. Good luck
  13. That Tiger Musky is awesome! Thanx for posting.
  14. Buy a 4x4! I was driving an Uplander at the time, was stuck on a gravel ramp at a remote lake for 4 hours. I walked 2 kms to the highway, hitch hiked to the local truck stop, found a friend who would help out with his Chevy 4x4. I offered him money - he refused. This year I dropped off a case of beer at his camp. I swore up & down I'd never go back to that particular lake unless I had a 4x4 under me. I recently purchased a 2008 King Ranch. Awesome truck to drive. Been to my favourite lake with the gravel/sandy launch no issues & more importantly - peace of mind. Did I mention I love my King Ranch!!
  15. Thanx for your replies, phone calls & PMs. The fishing equipment is gone. Hockey equipment is available.
