  1. Thanx Mike awesome report once again! I loved your photography work! 100 walleye per day ! WOW! is all I can say!
  2. Nice specs, scenery is awesome! Thanx for posting.
  3. Go with aplumma's advice. Parts availability is important. I have a husquvarna - great saw. It's a model 353 - 5 years old - no issues. It's only a 16" bar but I don't plan to cut huge trees - getting too old to haul 100 lb pieces. I like it also because it's lightweight easy to handle. Cuts very fast due to high RPMs - can't remember the RPMs. I owned a Craftsman 20" bar for 25 years - too heavy. Do your self a favour at the time of purchase. Make sure you buy the safety equipment as well, such as the loggers chaps, hard hat with face screen & ear muffs, loggers gloves, & the jacket to protect yourself.
  4. ch312- u r too funny "tree jumped out of nowhere"!!! Similar to hitting a moose?
  5. Good point Cliff about service & parts availability. mudhole.ca is a good sight for info on the various machines. Much like OFC whereby members ask questions about a particular brand, also guys writing about problems & of course there are people with replies. Very informative.
  6. Leafs? That's like cheering for the Bills!
  7. I purchased a new Polaris in 2012 - 500 HO. I'm an older gentle rider, so no need for speed & mud bogging. I use it primarily to get on & off the ice & some trail riding. It has been good so far no problems. $7500.00 including a 3500 lb winch & sales tax. Mid City Motorsports in Sudbury.
  8. I find them very comfortable for walking, but then again I don't walk long distances, usually riding my ATV.
  9. Very nice painting. I'm impressed!
  10. Yup to all your questions. I bought a pair 2 years ago. Lightweight, warm & bonus is they grip ice & hard packed snow very well - similar to a winter auto tire. I am very pleased with them. I'm a little older than most board members & having the added security of good traction is important to me. -60 rating is stretching the truth. Having said that I've been on Nippissing at -15 & been comfortable. Go get a pair. $90.00 at Ramakko's in Sudbury.
  11. Yup x2 - always carry a small chainsaw on those trips. I even have a small buck saw with me at all times, in case the Husky doesn't want to start.
  12. Always nice to hear about good service! Thanx
  13. Awesome story! Thanx
  14. Nice fish, fat little piggies for sure!
  15. Bare foot wader Very well written. I have had similar experience with a Golden Retreiver. Paid for training courses with an experience handler. My dog was awesome. Better behaved than people!
  16. U got too much time on your hands!! Hilarious
  17. I've had great service at Kawartha prop repair in Buckhorn.
  18. Not sure if this helps. I have a Kinetico water softener, works great. Lottsa soap bubbles while showering. I live in Fonthill, town water has iron in it. Also - if high concentrations of iron in your water it will wear out your plumbing fittings, taps, & toilets prematurely.
  19. Wow! Awesome story. Your writing skills are great, photography excellent! Thanx for sharing your experience.
  20. I just returned from the Shining Tree area. Stayed at 3 Bears camp, accomodations were very nice, fished 5 - 6 hours every day, had a blast! Caught lottsa walleye, & pike. There was frost on the ground 3 days in a row!! The fish were on fire when the weather was the worst, cold & windy conditions seemed to turn them on. When I went out on a calm morning or evening it was slow. This area the wallys are small compared to our Lake Erie hogs. I released alot due to their size. Best evening was 6 walleye in 2 hours, all were released. Wednesday afternoon I trailered the boat 42 kms on a gravel road - all for good reason. I trolled go getters for only 10 minutes to hook a 14" walleye, then landed 2 more rather quickly. Result - 3 walleye in about 20 minutes, largest was 17". Then I get a hard hit, I'm thinking a 5 lb walleye. Nope, I landed a pike approximately 26" about 7lbs. Didn't measure it or weigh it, wanted to get it back into the water quickly as possible. I fought it for about 8 minutes it was tired. I usually don't target pike & caught it on light walleye gear. Wifey & I had 3 fish frys, all other fish were released. I have pix on my iphone but don't know how to post them. Would someone be kind enough to post them if I emailed them your way? Thanx
  21. Good read for me , by all participants. i usually run regular unleaded in my truck ( by the way just picked up a 2008 Ford King Ranch - awesome truck). When travelling I always put Shell in my outboard & ATV
  22. That sux! Sorry to hear of your bad luck.
  23. Great pix! Thanx
  24. WOW! The second set of pix are great! I'm a walleye guy, those are really healthy looking walleye. Hasn't been fished since 2004 - it's a fish factory! Thanx Mike for taking the time to post a wonderful report.
