Now that's taking advantage of the fall bite. Nice bunch of fish!

Why do people move to a rural area/bush area and then proceed to want to kill all the wildlife???

Those skunks are my lawn aerator (?) Hardly ever see them, but they like the grubs, that's for sure.

This is a Leafs thread right? Why is there so much talk of the enemy or from the enemy's side. Go Leafs Go! Love the new alignment.

Anyone that eats a fish that old should change their eating habits! So, the MNR has a mandate to make sure native species continue to survive (I support this), however, they are not there to ensure that there are healthy fish populations for anglers to harvest, but yet the anglers are the ones that pay for this? Hmmm don't know if that makes sense, but it sounds like what I'm reading.

It's great to see. My wife keeps commenting on how many frogs there are. Also, saw some snakes for the first time in years.

I loved Lew's story!!!!! I would be willing to donate some tackle to you Cliff. What's your pleasure. I know we can't replace the collectors items, but you can get back on the water sooner rather than later.

Sad. Some companies lose sight of what got them their good reputation amd a successful business. -

Nice fish! Thanks for sharing Mike. Funny, we are usually envious of you when we see your pictures; always wishing we could visit your fishing locations.

It's the only way to freeze fish for any length of time. I find trout don't last as long as warm water species, but still better than no water.

I didn't see anyone mention the brookies that were in there. There were some great size fish that could be caught ice fishing in the late 80's early 90's. I haven't been there in years, but think about that lake quite often. Now I know not to go back. Unfortunately this is a trend that is happening far too often. Like you said there are many naysayers to lakes dying pr being abused, but I believe that it is a reality that we are going to have to learn to live with. People take way too many fish to eat (the law allows it) and when a gem is discovered, it doesn't take long for it to be negatively impacted with the information highway on the internet. Many more people are well educated on fishing techniques, so the fish are surely pressured more than in years past. Any lake within a couple hours of a big centre can have this happen. We must adapt. Sad

Nothing more crazy that bringing in a small fish and the line suddenly stopping! Oh Oh I have never seen one cut in half out of all the times it has happened to me though.

Confirmed - Cabela's To Open Store in Barrie by Summer 2014
jimmer replied to craigdritchie's topic in General Discussion
I am in Barrie quite a bit, but I will still buy most of my stuff from the local guy. I get Yamamoto baits for $2 less a pack by shopping locally. Those stores are good when you can't find the product elsewhere or you want to give family members a list of gift ideas. LOL The local stores are in and out for what I need, not buying a bunch of stuff because it's in my face. American companies coming to Canada is only good if we get their prices. -
Fall fishing can be a challenge. The water clears up and the weeds start dying. Muskie are your best bet from what I hear from the guys fishing Sturgeon. I always struggle at that time of year since the zebra mussels moved in. I guess I just haven't caught onto the newer approaches. LOL Night time for walleye!

Has there ever been a survey done in tournament heavy areas with local businesses like the ones you mentioned. I would be interested in seeing the results on the local economy. Hard facts would put an end to many heated discussions around this.

I don't see how a catch and kill policy is better than a catch and release policy. That reeks of P3TA.

Okay, everyone was talking bassboats, obviously any watercraft that has a dangerous driver is a concern. Guess I have to be more careful with my wording. LOL I would love to be able to afford a bassboat!

Any weedlines should hold them at that time of year. Try spinnerbaits, johnson weedless spoons or crankbaits and you shoud hook up with one. If all else fails, use a flipping jig.

Nice comeback!
