  1. This forum is never boring!!! Thanks for giving me some laughs on a usual crappy Monday.
  2. Whew, I opened this thinking that you had been ripped off again. Glad to see it was another fishing story Cliff. I was out yesterday and never even had a bite. I think the lake died. LOL
  3. My condolences go out to you and your whole family! (Brian and Rob) Jim
  4. Thanks for sharing. Those look like some nice fish even though they aren't speckies!
  5. Unfortunately there is some thruth to that!
  6. If they open the herring on Lake Simcoe they better put strict limits on them or they will just be wiped out again. Those things are going to give us some nice size lakers if the population is sustained.
  7. Yes, I went and looked, thanks for the info. I just thought I did it earlier in the past. I have it written down on my To Do List so I don't forget.
  8. I was just about to switch to another channel when the real Leafs came out to play! Nice win and I went to bed a happy camper.
  9. X2
  10. I'm fairly sure that I always did it in October in the past.
  11. I can't see how you're guilty (when are you supposed to take the skin off? Right before it hits the oil), but I understand not driving back to fight it and they probably figure that you won't go back to fight it either.
  12. Got out on Sunday with a buddy who is a muskie fanatic. We fished from 9:30 until about 6:30 and covered a large area. My buddy got into a nice one on the Buckhorn side of Gannons Narrows. We caught it trolling with a spinnerbait and trailer tail. We got the action recorded on his Gopro, but I forgot to take a still with my camera. We were more interested in getting it back in the water as we left the net behind and used the boca grip instead. The fish was a mid-40's and no sign of any others. We both discussed it and will probably not leave the net behind next time; it does take up a lot of room in the boat though. My only luck was a hungry bass that liked a big lure.
  13. Thanks, I always wondered about the hunt and how many got to participate. I remember seeing a show on Elk hunting and it was discovered that the guides were drugging the elk so the hunters had an easy target. Can't remember where it was though, but they got caught.
  14. Just my opinions and thoughts. Don't want to get into a battle of words with anyone. We all know there are issues, I just see it differently.
  15. Did you fight the tickets?
  16. Not sure why we can't renew now? Having everyone renew in a one month period can be an admistrative nightmare.
  17. Check out an OK Tire center. I have always found good deals through them.
  18. That's a good way to look at it Art.
  19. Sorry, I can't agee 100% with you. Over harvesting is an issue in the kawarthas as well as habitat destruction and if the MNR's main focus is habitat, they are not doing very well with that. You just have to drive around the lakes and see how many huge homes are being built while sanitizing their waterfront with poured concrete or large limestone rock. How do they get away with that? Is it the almight buck that buys their way past building codes? Just my opinion and thoughts though.
  20. Wow, nice fish. It even has a unique spot pattern to it.
  21. Thanks for sharing Lew. They will have to keep protecting them if they show themselves so easy. Do you know how many tags they give out a year for the Bancroft area?
  22. Everytime I read one of these posts, I just get sickened with all the stories of people keeping more than their limit, fish outside of the slot, poachers wasting fish. The ones that get me the most are when someone keeps a walleye outside of the slot and couldn't give a crap when approached by a concerned angler to educate them. The future of some of our lakes doesn't look good. I would like to see the MNR waste some of their money in the Kawarthas. I have been checked over the years, once ice fishing on Pigeon last winter, but the ones doing the surveys are not CO's, they are students.
  23. Everything is going to be fine now, they have announced an increase in our hydro bills, which is probably to cover the cost of any mispent funds or crazy altenative power schemes!
  24. That's funny. Maybe Burke will take Phaneuf back now that he's with Calgary. I know he isn't the GM, but I'm sure he has some pull. They should definitely reduce his ice time if they can't trade him, I think he does better with a limited role. Hopefully Mark Frazier cames back soon.
  25. Ph-enough stinks.I think that guy just can't make up his mind when he has the puck in his end. Yet they still win???? Go Leafs Go!
