  1. Wow, everyone wants to hang this guy, but the liberals walk away from blowing billions with a golden hand shake and a pension that sets them up for the rest of life. What a crazy political world we live in. Can we fire them all and start over, new pay scale and benefits. And if you blow tax payers money on silly endevours, you ge tthe boot. Shoot, I'm dreaming.
  2. Panfish open all year, walleye open until November 15 and muskie and bass until December 15th. However, I don't know if there are any in the lake judging by the last few times I have been out. Like the captain said, it's been very tough.
  3. So, changing them once a year is a good guide if we use a boat regularly??
  4. As a Leaf fan, they're winning, who cares about everything else. I know that's not the way to look at hockey, but what the heck, we have waited awhile for a start like this. Dion is not worth 7 mil and especially for 7 years, I sure hope they learned from their past mistakes. He's already slow, what will he be like in 5-7 years. He does log a lot of minutes though.
  5. There are lakers in Shadow Lake???????
  6. This forum is never boring!!! Thanks for giving me some laughs on a usual crappy Monday.
  7. Whew, I opened this thinking that you had been ripped off again. Glad to see it was another fishing story Cliff. I was out yesterday and never even had a bite. I think the lake died. LOL
  8. My condolences go out to you and your whole family! (Brian and Rob) Jim
  9. Thanks for sharing. Those look like some nice fish even though they aren't speckies!
  10. Unfortunately there is some thruth to that!
  11. If they open the herring on Lake Simcoe they better put strict limits on them or they will just be wiped out again. Those things are going to give us some nice size lakers if the population is sustained.
  12. Yes, I went and looked, thanks for the info. I just thought I did it earlier in the past. I have it written down on my To Do List so I don't forget.
  13. I was just about to switch to another channel when the real Leafs came out to play! Nice win and I went to bed a happy camper.
  14. X2
  15. I'm fairly sure that I always did it in October in the past.
  16. I can't see how you're guilty (when are you supposed to take the skin off? Right before it hits the oil), but I understand not driving back to fight it and they probably figure that you won't go back to fight it either.
  17. Got out on Sunday with a buddy who is a muskie fanatic. We fished from 9:30 until about 6:30 and covered a large area. My buddy got into a nice one on the Buckhorn side of Gannons Narrows. We caught it trolling with a spinnerbait and trailer tail. We got the action recorded on his Gopro, but I forgot to take a still with my camera. We were more interested in getting it back in the water as we left the net behind and used the boca grip instead. The fish was a mid-40's and no sign of any others. We both discussed it and will probably not leave the net behind next time; it does take up a lot of room in the boat though. My only luck was a hungry bass that liked a big lure.
  18. Thanks, I always wondered about the hunt and how many got to participate. I remember seeing a show on Elk hunting and it was discovered that the guides were drugging the elk so the hunters had an easy target. Can't remember where it was though, but they got caught.
  19. Just my opinions and thoughts. Don't want to get into a battle of words with anyone. We all know there are issues, I just see it differently.
  20. Did you fight the tickets?
  21. Not sure why we can't renew now? Having everyone renew in a one month period can be an admistrative nightmare.
  22. Check out an OK Tire center. I have always found good deals through them.
  23. That's a good way to look at it Art.
  24. Sorry, I can't agee 100% with you. Over harvesting is an issue in the kawarthas as well as habitat destruction and if the MNR's main focus is habitat, they are not doing very well with that. You just have to drive around the lakes and see how many huge homes are being built while sanitizing their waterfront with poured concrete or large limestone rock. How do they get away with that? Is it the almight buck that buys their way past building codes? Just my opinion and thoughts though.
  25. Wow, nice fish. It even has a unique spot pattern to it.
