  1. That's a real beauty!
  2. No kidding. I have more stuff that I don't use than stuff that I use.
  3. It reminds me of a time I was in a cruise boat with a bunch of people and the operator decided to pull a 90 degree turn at high speed without warning. I was sitting down, then on the floor before I knew it. A person riding in the boat has no control once the operator loses control, you're at the mercy of......
  4. Another member!
  5. I think that they are okay for shallow water applications, but tend to be slightly insufficient for deep water apps. Take chris.brock's advice.
  6. They didn't even take the full shoulder cape for a proper mount. Probably just going to use the antlers from the head.
  7. You should be able to access the lake right in Bewdley. I would look for 8' of water.
  8. Hey Captpierre I have lived on the lake for years and usually fish elsewhere in October and November. Ever since the zebra mussels moved in, it has been tougher for me in the fall.
  9. Are you serious about Little Lake?
  10. The trick is to check out the work before you agree to anything. Make sure you see some of the taxidermists finished product. Yes, Advanced is great, but there are others out there that are also good. Advanced probably has a huge stock of molds and can alter one to suit a fish if required. Others tend to order fish blanks from the states and just attach the fins and paint them. Painting a replica is far different than painting a skin mount, that's why you should always see a painted replica before agreeing to purchase. It takes a special talent to bring a white fish blank to life. Check out the Advanced website to start, then go from there.
  11. This is a black bullhead I caught down south a few years back. I think yours is a channel cat.
  12. I treat it well, but I think there was damage on the blade prior to me getting it. I treat it as well or better than my father did. Thanks for the input by everyone, I will contact the museum.
  13. Thanks, that's a great site.
  14. Can't figure out how to put multiple pics in one post. Can anyone help?
  15. Does anyone know what this might be worth? My father picked it up at the end of the war when he was policing civilians who were not to be carrying weapons. Interesting piece.
  16. You could do it with the proper tools. I have cleaned my own for the last 26 years; however, from the roof. The only thing that I can think of is that my chimney cap needs cleaning at least a couple of times a year and I also have to do that from the roof. Probably because I burn my stove low at this time of the year. I also don't have a brick chimney, it's a stainless steel one that is straight up.
  17. Doubt they will ever be able to pay the fine though.
  18. I could accept an early C & R, but this summer I saw more than usual being kept to replace the lack of success with walleye. People love to eat fish and if the walleye aren't there in numbers they will switch their target, which is well within their rights. It just really concerns me to extend the season earlier.
  19. This is the third time I have come into this thread to say something only to delete what I wrote. I will just ask, do we really need an extra week if there is any chance it will jeopardize another population of fish, especially in the Kawarthas? Why mess with it? Yes the bass are booming right now, but that can change quickly. Ten years ago the walleye were booming, I can't say that about them now. (See very few small fish now)
  20. Anyone else have the opportunity to see the Sheepdogs and Sloan at Showplace in Peterborough last night. My wife was diligent in phoning in to win tickets from The Wolf and we had the pleasure of sitting in the second row to watch these two Canadian rock bands. The Sheepdogs rocked the joint and sounded a lot like Lynyrd Skynyrd with their own twist. It was both The Wolf and Sloan's twentieth birthday party. Everything was great, but I found it wierd that The Wolf didn't throw out any t-shirts or hats to the audience.
  21. That's a nice chunk of land Irishfield! Sorry you missed out on it. I find the one thing that makes for a tough walleye/muskie bite in those lakes is the very clear water. An overcast day would help you and we have had plenty of them lately. Good luck, hope to see a positive report from you.
  22. Looks like a nice trip. It was nice to see a groundhog, don't see many of those around anymore.
  23. Probably a union issue! This would improve many services if permitted. Maybe the Liberals would donate their severences to hire a few more CO's?
  24. They're crazy! Don't let them in your house.
