  1. I think there is one in Pigeon Lake eating all the other fish. LOL Always wondered what happened to all the walleye,
  2. I did that the last three elections and look what happened. Kind of cynical these days.
  3. I opened this thread thinking that there might be someone defending the fiberals. I am worried that they will get back in though, as TO always votes for them. (as someone said earlier, just because they always vote for them) Sadly, I have chosen not to place a vote in the next election; I agee with Cliff, no other party really offers a better altenative, just crooks in a different colour. Someone should be going to jail over the $1.1 waste. My bet is they will get a bonus and still receive their gold plated pensiion. If no one is held accountable; there is no stopping future politicians from doing the same. Amazing how there are no laws for behaviour at a political level.
  4. I agree, way too many in the kawarthas. Don't know if there is a way to regulate the numbers though. I actually wouldn't mind them if they let the fish go in the lake they were caught in. The tri-lakes major tournaments always has all the bass released in Chemong Lake.
  5. Okay, I'm a Leaf fan, have been since I can remember. So I don't understand why all these other hockey team fans come on this thread? I don't even open the Sens thread, figure there isn't much to read about there anyways. Leafs are 3-0 to start the season and look very good at times, other times a little off, but that will improve as the season goes on.
  6. I personally would launch at Nogies Creek in the north end and fish up there rather than the river or south end. The water is very clear in the lower end which can make for some tough fishing. At least you have some depth up the north end.
  7. My wife always gets on my case because it's generally the same thing every morning. Meds, Decaf, two slice of somekind of grain bread with peanut butter and fruit spread. Might stray from that if we are away at a cottage or camping.
  8. No worries! Just bantering with you.
  9. Try a Weedless Johnson Silver Minnow spoon with a trailer tail of some kind over the weeds. I had great luck with them years back. They are great for weedy lakes.
  10. Is that a hab fan we hear? This is a Leaf thread.
  11. I don't think you can prevent Great Lake tributaries from being overcrowded. I know the pictures don't help, but look at the populations around those streams.
  12. That fish didn't grow much in three years. Live release works obviously!
  13. I have lived on the Tri-Lakes for 26 years and fished it for many more. I enjoy taking the boat out of the water at this time of year and head for smaller lakes north of the kawarthas. The fish in those lakes read the fishing magazines. LOL
  14. It's all timing shimano19. You have to be where the fish are when they turn on. You can miss out if you're not on the water at the right time. They also tend to be hanging in groups like someone else said. I spent an entire day on upper buckhorn last week and only caught one bass. I dropped my buddy off at abut 5:30 and decided to fish a little longer. I caught 8 bass in the next two hours.
  15. I don't think it is the toxic form of algae. I was out yesterday and it's still covering the lake down to Grenedier Island; it seems to disappear in the south end. Fishing was terrible all day and we were blaming it on the algae, but I started catching some fish after 5pm. That stuff was dripping all over the baitcasters and making them very slippery. Had to be careful not to throw the rod out of my hands when casting. It will only take a few cold days and it should disappear.
  16. No it wasn't Mike. This one was from the McKeller area.
  17. It was hard to tell the difference at first. She did a great job.
  18. I love fishing for them because I usually don't fish lakes that have pike in them. It's always special when you can target them. Thanks for the comments guys!
  19. Many insurance co's around me would not touch a wood stove. Expecially if you said it was your main source of heat. I had to provide a picture of the stove and surrounding area as well as the wett inspection. I am in the same boat as you Beans. Electric baseboards (never turned on, way too expensive) and need to burn at least 3 bush cords a year to heat. Have been burning the same woodstove for 26 years now. Starting to get too old for this and still recovering from stacking a couple of bush cords the other day. Jeesh, it can take away from my fishing time.
  20. Caught this one earlier this year. The husky jerk was the ticket and also giving it one last ditch effort before the trip home. My buddy lost one that was quite a bit bigger about 15 minutes earlier.
  21. I might just take you up on that! Thanks. We'll see how the fall goes. The ice sounds great too.
  22. Just speechless! What next? They would be more impressive if they were stand alone without the jetski.
  23. I never seem to meet up with those big girls! Kind of gave up after a few years of trying. That is a nice stringer for this time of year, great job!
  24. I usually don't have a problem paying for parking or launching as long as there is access to the lake. I do think that the access points to lake simcoe are drying up though.
  25. Everyone sees it differently. I would die to have some algae (not the big green balls) or stain to the water in the south end. It might be the changing water temps, but it could also be the size of some of the homes being built and the septic systems. Some of the older cottages have been replaced with larger ones on small lots, so the septics are too close to the water. Just a thought,
