  1. The Insurance Company's goal is to make a profit. They do that by screwing the customer and the customer has no option , take what they offer you or pay a Lawyer. Try to change Insurance Companys , hah, you will lose again with the cost of premiums charges to you now because you had a claim. The customer lose's either way.
  2. I returned my defective peeling plates to a Service Ontario Office, they exchanged them for new ones, no charge..
  3. I worked in a Machine Shop for many years and I will tell you this. Lubrication is a key point to make any equipment last a long time, Filters are important also. With marine engines, wires are a key component to longevity and use fresh hi octane fuel. Now its trivia time, How many folks here remember Murray Westgate, He was a spokesman for ESSO oil commercials during hockey games. He always said "Happy Motoring" and "Let's get back to the game". If you remember him, you have been around for a while, lol
  4. Hey, sounds like that trip was a "gas"
  5. Paul, our deepest condolences regarding the loss of Joey, although I never met her personally, I did know her because of her posts here of her lovely pictures and quips regarding fishing. Very sorry for your loss. Rick and Dianne.
  6. What bugs me about these stupid ads and commercials, they show you 30 images in less than 15 seconds and expect you to buy that product, What product is it?? The pictures flick so fast, its almost impossible to see what the are advertising.. Just my beef for today, in MHO.
  7. Information given out from the folks who are on this board is great. OFC is a wealth of help and knowledge available 24/7.
  8. I have always stayed at an 0utfiiter who had a package with day huts for fishing and cottages for eating and sleeping. Electric heat in the cottage is not a safety issue, no fumes, etc. Propane heat in the hut has never been a problem because we all know how much they leak air and have drafts. Spending a weekend in a bungalow has never seemed to be a good idea to me , at least. Just MHO.
  9. 20 years ago I quit, I knew my new born grand daughter should have a grampa around to teach her things.. I quit that day!!!
  10. We would like to wish all members and their families a very Happy New Year. May 2017 be a safe and healthy time for us all. Rick and Dianne.
  11. I just read this thread and I think I just woke up from a long time ago. Titles with swear words and cursing, I hope children from this day and age are not reading and ingesting this garbage.. Just MHO.
  12. Good going for you both, kicking the habit is the best thing in the world. I smoked for 35 years, stopped it when my first grand child was born, I figured she should have a chance to have a Grampa in her life, best thing I ever did. Being smoke free is wonderful, You just wait and see. Congrats.
  13. Being a grampa is fantastic. I speak from experience, its great. CONGRATS
  14. Lew, She might be looking for you to tell you that the back yard feeder needs re-filling.
  15. Merry Christmas to all. Have a happy and safe Holiday.
  16. Gordie was well known as a TV personality in the hamilton area, also did some commercials. Then he was a regular guest on the TV show HEE HAW. He was 94. Thanks for the memories Gordie. SAAAALLLOOOOOOOOT!!!
  17. My buds and I used to have great eats during the day when out ice fishing, Turkey stew, chili, cabbage rolls and of course some "wobbly" pops. Nice to bring food from home and then just re heat it in hut, never had a fish fry on the ice, always saved that for back at the cottage. Enjoyed a little nap after lunch when the bite slowed down a bit. Your memories of a hut lunch are????
  18. Was ice fishing at Callander Bay in the 1990'S, outside thermometer hit the pin at -40 below, radio said it was -52 in the outlying areas of North Bay. The nails that hold the 1/4 round wood trim inside the cottage were white with frost, that's inside the cottage, brrrrr. Truck would crank over but it would not start for 3 days, when temps climbed to -20, my Chevy fired up. Had a block heater installed the next week and that solved any future no starts for me. Never experienced a cold temp like that before, we all got properly dressed for a walk after dinner but we didn't stay out for long, even our "travellers" in our pockets were getting slushy. Still had a good time though, I'm like OIM now, cant stand the cold anymore, guess that's what happens to you as you age. Just MHO.
  19. You can always tell when a Politician s lying, ----Their lips move.!!! Wink wink--we all know the feeling of being 'lied to ''" AND screwed again, and again and again****** Well you know the rest***
  20. As Dave524 said, we poured furnace oil right into the rear tank of the heater that was inside the house. My Dad showed me how to get the fuel from the 3 X 45 gallon drums that we had outside in the backyard, decant into 2.5 gallon containers and then bring them INTO the house to be ready for use. Stored them in the pantry off of dining room, and yes they were full of fuel. Those were "the good old days".. lol.
  21. lol. Also remember, that men who dont mention weight gain about their wives live longer, than men who do mention it.
  22. Lew and his lovely bride, Congratulations on your long and happy married life together, That is a mile stone for sure in this day and age. Well done and may the future hold much happiness for you both.
  23. I went to the Brewers Retail store with my Dad at Christmas time in 1963, He said to me on the way back to the car with 2 cases of Red Cap Ale, " Jes## Chri##, what the he## is going on in this world, $7.00 for 2 cases of beer. LOL. If only he could see what is cost today, he would really have a fit.
  24. I was glad when Jays let him go, I wonder how the big wigs in Boston feel now , after all- he is signed to a multi- million $ deal for 7 years. I hope management put a performance clause into the deal in case he ends up doing exactly what he is doing now. Not quite what they thought he could do for the team, he is over rated and over paid. Just my 2 cents worth. npt1
