This is an unrealistic expectation. Should the lodge owner obtain representation for anyone that receives a ticket for speeding on the way there? If you have committed an offence, it's on you to defend it in court if you think the charge was issued in error! A lodge owner can't guard against what happens to you on the water or on the road, and they sure as heck aren't responsible for disputing the charge on your behalf.

Lower buck is a great lake, I have made an annual trip there for years now! Great pics, congrats on a successful outing!

I use 10lb nano on all my pickerel rods, with an 8lb fluoro leader. I can't see it as being overkill for steelhead! I use 10lb trilene xl on all of my float reels as mainline, and have for many years. I use 30lb powerpro on a diawa 1300 with a 10-15lb mono lead the occasional time I fish salmon in the river systems. The key is your leader. With the advent of fluoro, I haven't used less than 6lb test leader in years, even in clear water. Long gone are the days of 2lb leads and 20 minute battles, now unless it's a really good fish or really fast water (and my home rivers are GB/Huron) I just hoist fish up on the bank LOL.

Great pics!

And I don't think he is getting any freebies for making any loot off it. LOL. Nice to see an actual fishing report now and again, even if it is a teaser. A nice break from the advertisements and fishing for dollars posts! Looking forward to the pic of a hog!

Unfortunately the costco that is nearest to me doesn't have marine batteries that I've seen. It is a 1.5 hour drive to the nearest one that carries them. I may have to find some other reason to be that way, I guess I will visit my mother LOL. They will probably be cleared out quickly at that price, thanks for the info!

$60???? Where???? Is this an end of season clear out? I have been thinking of adding a second battery to my boat for added run time. That deal is too hard to pass up. I'm already running Kirkland in my boat, and I've had nothing but good results!

I've been using mono for 25 years, and see no reason to change. If you must go with the latest and greatest, by all means do so, but don't bother using fluoro. A buddy of mine had that brilliant idea a few years ago (god only knows why) and it was terrible. Fluoro is wonderful leader material, but crap for a mainline on a float reel. I have tried superlines, and love nano for spinning rigs etc, but my float rigs have remained mono, and will continue to be. The nessecity of shot lines and the like are more invconvenient than the limited benefits of superline. I don't use hi vis either. If you can see your float, you should know where your line is. And if you can't see your float, your drifting to far! I have also never had much trouble with hooksets with mono, and I don't require the "feel" of superline as I'm using an indicator! I like trilene XL as a mainline myself. Good luck!

We have a full size pickup. With the price of gas, I try to use my 4 cylinder SUV as much as possible. Thankfully my boat isn't huge. I only hunt with silhouettes for geese, and I can even fit 6-8 dozen silhouettes and 2 layout blinds in my SUV. Having the truck is nice, but it sucks paying the gas bill!

If that was my kid, I would beat him!

My commutes have varied from 15KM to 100KM one way over the years. I am a shift worker, and due to hours I was never commuting at peak rush hour times. I now commute 20 minutes or less, never any traffic. I had to give up a wee bit of vacation time to do it, but I get lots of time off anyway! My life has never been better! I can't imagine having to grind it out in traffic in the GTA during peak hours.

I guess if you had a big supply of leaches and nothing else to do with them, then why not. But for convenience and cheap availability, nothing beats worms! The added bonus is that they work like a hot damn!
-
I use hotmaps, but if Navionics+ was available when I was buying, thats probably the route I would've gone! I have the app on my iphone the odd time I venture somwhere that hotmaps doesn't cover.

I don't buy shimano rods, mainly st. Croix and fenwick, both who offer a 5 year warranty on most rods. I think lifetime warrantys are a bit unrealistic to be honest. The only rods I've broken have been purely operator error, and the few that have been defective have broken on the first or second trip out. I really like Shimano reels, and if I liked their rods I probably wouldn't let a 1 year warranty stop me. I would expect a reasonable warranty period of a minimum of 5 years if I laid out the cash for a new Loomis IMX or the like though! The price of those rods pretty much includes a free replacement imho.

Can I replace my kicker with a 24V 80 lb. electric?
porkpie replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
Looks like you've made up your mind, but NO WAY would I trade a gas kicker for an electric trolling motor, especially on Erie! -
This guy is right! Lots of water!!

It's not to often the passing of a celebrity phases me, but I truly enjoyed his acting and his comedy. A truly multi talented individual. Rest in peace RW!

Yeah!!! Diawa accudepth now in lefty!!!!

That's pretty cool! Thanks for the info! -
That's the best answer so far. Unless your doing an instructional video on how to plant begonias or some such thing, your probably best to leave the videos off YouTube. Particularly ones of you following a moose in a vehicle and it falls to it's death. Some folks don't think things all the way through!

Fill with tire slime . I used to run it in my last bike. Lots of guys run slime in all their tires for trail riding. I haven't heard of any issues.

Can't bring myself to buy a new knife (NF)
porkpie replied to colin519's topic in General Discussion
You should be able to get a quality Grohmann for about $75 at Lebarons. The $200 knives are stag handled etc. Basically the deluxe models. -

Yes, Grohmann Canadian jump knife. Conveniently Canadian made. This and a spyderco delica are all you'll ever need. No disrespect, but I've found most Gerbers to be generally poor quality. Glad to hear that particular model of Gerber works well for you though. There are always exceptions! -
Trudes cottages and bait shop right in Buckhorn , beside three castles resort has always sold tackle and live bait!

Minnkota Powerdrive V2 with i-pilot not engaging
porkpie replied to AKRISONER's topic in General Discussion
I believe Minnkota has a 2 year warranty on motors. You may wish to take advantage of this rather than spending any money as it sounds like your in the warranty period still! I think Aikmans in Mississauga is a MK repair centre.
