It was not meant to be unhelpful. Just a slice of reality.

My question is why? You could stern mount the transducer, but then you'd have 18 plus feet of distance between the bow and stern. No good for vertical jigging etc. There is a reason everyone mounts them to the trolling motor, or buys a trolling motor with universal sonar. Otherwise you'd be jury rigging something up that would be more trouble than it would be worth.

2 days to go before the "X" goes on your ballot. NF

Hudak was done anyway. If he didn't resign, the party would have resigned him, and he knows it! He hasn't really resigned from anything other than leadership. He is making sure he keeps his elected seat! The ontario PC party needs to burn to the ground, and rebuild entirely, much as the Federal Conservatives did. Maybe then they can hope to form a government. I was done with them during the last election, when they took a turncoat failed liberal candidate in my electoral riding, and trotted him out as a PC candidate. A leopard doesn't change it's spots! -

Hudak is paying for his own idiot actions. At least now they will cut his throat, hopefully rebuild and come out strong in the next election.... In 4 years ... Sigh. Signed a frustrated conservative! -
Marden Motors on 6 north of Guelph had a couple of looked to be 2011's with approx 75K on them in the lot when I drove by tonight. Blue with white top, sticker price on window was 20K. Never dealt with them, but here is the info if your interested! Marden Motors 5556 Highway 6 North Guelph, ONN1H 6J2 Sales: 1 (888) 436-3773

Before you discount buying new, go into a Ford dealer and haggle. I got my F150 in 2010 brand new for 5K more than I could buy a 3-4 year old vehicle, tax included! It was a no brainer. That may not be the case today, but I would at least look into it.

I have been told it will not. I have a spare transducer for my Humminbird, and thought about mounting it as a shoot through on my kayak. What info I have found says it won't work. I could be wrong, but I am sure a call to lowrance will sort that out.

I agree with you. A spoiled ballot is completely meaningless! -
Bought a new yammy over the winter myself! You'll love it!

My grandfather was on HMCS Ottawa from 42 to the end of the war. His brother served on a Corvette. I still have gramps paybook his navy knife and a bunch of his kit as well as his discharge papers. I also have some papers that washed up from one of the 3 confirmed Uboats that they sank in the channel during the summer of 1944 after running escort duty for landing forces. An rather depressing but vivid reminder of history. Hopefully something we never repeat.

I think that people are getting bent over a fish that is just about as prolific as can be. For gods sake they are big sunfish. I fish crappie and pike in shallow bays, fish pickerel and pike in waters that smallmouth frequent and catch a fair share of all species including some bass that don't happen to be in season. I don't flip docks, I don't throw tubes or senkos, but I still catch the damn things every trip out. To me bass are a species of last resort that I will only fish for if nothing else is doing. I just can't get stressed if some dude wants to target a fish that would bite a beer can with hooks. Particularly given all the northern states that have early or year round seasons and still have excellent bass fisherys. Weird!

The cheap grey cordura cover sold at bass pro (can't remember model name) travels and trailers very well and has a 3 year warranty. I got my monies worth out of it! Worth looking into.

Anglers fined fishing out of season !!!
porkpie replied to fishindevil's topic in General Discussion
These people where not charged for fishing bass during the closed season, they where charged for failing to produce licenses. Feel good story and that's about it. Good that they where caught though! As for the bass out of season, well, I consider them a coarse fish and a bit of a nuisance when fishing for other species, but that's a whole other story. They are tasty critters though! -
bow mount trolling shaft length for 16' tinny

I had a 54 inch on a 16 foot Lund SSV. It was tons of motor. -
I run a colour humminbird 597 off of a 12 volt gel cell battery. I just find it easier to keep the bird on its own battery in the boat, and the gel cells weigh next to nothing anyhow. My unit will last a couple of trips on one charge. It's probably the best way to go!

Just take some 3M 5200 and cut up a dollar shop cutting board. Glue the piece of cutting board to the rear of the boat. My old lund has had that exact setup for over 10 years now, no screws required! Then screw your transducer to the cutting board.

I had a good read about this boat. It seems pretty attractive and well priced. However its a cottage boat with a relatively flat bottomed hull, and is not designed for big water, or less than ideal conditons . Probably great on smaller lakes, and no doubt fine on quinte in ideal conditions. I have been on quinte and many other big waters in 14 footers, but as always you have to have a close eye on weather and beat it if things start to look dodgy! There is a huge difference between 16 foot boats, and what their hulls are designed for. One purpose built with a deep hull for bigger water, will get you through nicely in rough seas when one built for cruising, or shallow water applications with a flat bottom for stability will beat the hell out of you in rough conditions, or could possibly get you into trouble. One thing it is not, is a fishing boat! With boats you have to decide if your a fisherman or a recreational boater first and foremost, and let that guide your decision. If your a fisherman, you won't be happy with that boat, and there are better compromise designs available! Good luck.

Really? Your not making anything off of this?? Clearly I am mistaken then . My apologies, best of luck with finding a solution! -
Photobucket Bandwidth Limit? What is the Solution?
porkpie replied to Aaron Shirley's topic in General Discussion
Clearly your a commercial enterprise, so why not pay them the $30 and be done with it. I imagine that is why they set a cap in the first place! -
I've had tiller boats up to 16 feet all my life. For the most part I prefer them on all but the nastiest of days! A tiller is very east to troll and downrig out of as everything is all there beside you. I used to have dual walker electrics on my 16 footer and it couldn't be simpler! I would skip the console on that size of rig. It just gets in the way and really isn't required! You should be able to pick up a decent 14 with a reliable motor for that money!

I agree.
