  1. We heard it on the news driving home tonight. That is pretty much what I said. "No one deserves this disease, but especially not him". I think he is a stand up guy and very humble in his position. I wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.
  2. Definitely a nice one! Sorry, I have to ask.....what's with the clothes? I'm sweating just looking at those pictures. A hoody and gloves???? By 8am, I am roasting!
  3. Another good source for props and repairs is United Propeller in Orillia.
  4. What a beautiful portrait of Marvin. something to keep for a lifetime! Maureen, that is some awesome talent you got going there! The life in his eyes is fantastic!
  5. Congrats Paul! WTG, nice fish! Sounds like a great day. That Musky is absolutely beautiful!
  6. I agree that is wrong to dump them in the lake, but as already mentioned, I doubt they will survive. We originally had three very large Goldfish in our pond. Eventually, they all died. These were just common Goldfish, not koi and they grew to approx. 5 pounds!!! These things were very fat and a joy to watch cruise around the pond. We could see them from our window in the kitchen. I have bought some expensive fish from Bradford Nursery that were over 6" long. They didn't last a week! We tried stocking with half a dozen fish several times. Some of these fish were $16.00 each! The Bass just annihilate them within days!! There is no where to hide when you are bright orange! LOL I bought some 10 - 11" trout and they didn't last either. I watched the Bass coral them into shallow water and just devour them. I now have a pair of Goldfish we are trying to raise in a large cage. I still don't think they are big enough to compete with the Bass. They did survive all winter though! If anyone has any real good size ones they don't want any longer, let me know.
  7. Not sure, but I believe you can "challenge" the exam. You will most likely still have to pass the test and wait out the search on your background Mine took almost 4 months, but then again, I closely resemble a once well known terrorist leader who now swims with the fishes!
  8. I hear ya Lew! It is sad. I long for the days when "Semi-Automatic" theft deterrent devices are acceptable!
  9. I dunno Phil, a guy does not usually comment "Love the woody Joe" to another guy! LOL Just sayin.......
  10. Happy Birthday Ol' Wise One! Hope its a great day for you!
  11. Gawd, that thing looks like it is possessed!
  12. Can't beat that! Nice fish!
  13. Yep, those pictures and the smiles are priceless! Glad you can make light of it all now, but I can imagine the frustration and anguish you went through at the time. I sometimes feel that I am "too" anal about my trailers. I am constantly checking tire pressure, tire condition, bearing condition, and other components. I can just imagine all the poorly maintained trailers out there on the roads just waiting for a week-end like yours to happen. I'm not putting you in that category because it seems like you are well aware of the issues that can happen with trailers and despite our best efforts, s&%t still happens! Oh, and Rice Lake will always have a permanent place in my heart. That is where my Dad took me fishing for the first time and many others to follow. I doubt Harolds Cottages at Gore's Landing is still there.
  14. Yes indeed Wayne, great to hear that things are going well! Give Jen our best wishes as well.
  15. When I turned 40, my wife hired a pilot and plane out of Lake St. John near Orillia to take me for a flight over Lake Dalrymple. It was a float plane and he insisted that She come with us! We actually went a lot further and flew over several lakes. He asked if I wanted to to land on any because he was an Instructor and was certified on a large number of lakes to land. I told him I could go for a "boat ride" any day and said I wanted to stay up for as long as possible! It was a good time!
  16. I had a 1986 20 H.P. Merc and if the impeller was weak, the garden hose could "assist" in forcing water out the tell-tale outlet. It would not come out with force though until the engine was running. Those blockages are very common and possibly the only problem you had. Is the water streaming out with force, or just softly running out when the engine is running? The second that motor starts, it needs to come out with force! One of the things I did not like, was that it shot straight down and was difficult to see when operating the boat. I put a 45 degree fitting on mine.
  17. Beautiful Bass! Way to go!
  18. Also, Don't forget that the rule about transporting live fish was written long before "Live release" tournaments were in effect. As already stated, putting them back into the same lake...even if it is 100 miles away from where they were caught is no where near the same thing as transporting them away from the lake with the possibility that they are introduced into a different body of water.
  19. Yes, great news! I just heard on the news at 11 that he should be fine...well at least physically.
  20. I'm not disagreeing with you, but I did get a chuckle after reading this post when I saw your handle "liverelease" LOL
  21. I'm just thrilled to see that after a 16 month investigation, they didn't slap them with the customary $200.00 fine!!! At least this way, there was considerable cost and expense to the two idiots and the MNR possibly can recover some of their costs.
  22. Waaaaayyyyy back on this board, it was BrianS I believe. Then through the changes, and because there was another "Brian", it became confusing (probably more to me than anyone else!). I used to love fishing a Rat-L-Trap crankbait....and because that was a licensed name, I just changed it to Rattletrap. I think I was forced to add the "2" because the name was in use somewhere. I used this name on other fishing boards at the time.....so that is it.
  23. GREED! They charge what they think they can get away with. Whether it be the wholesaler, distributor, or retailer. Some day they will get the picture, but for now, we buy from where we see fit.
  24. Art, More than anyone ever wanted(or needed)to know about why the can sweats, but I couldn't resist! LOL I'll think about that career change when I get older.
  25. Very Nice TJ! That fish looked awesome and I even saw some MGD beer on the table. Can't get much better than that!
