  1. Fiberglass resin is probably better than many epoxies, but as I said, it is only a matter of time before it cracks off. That is one of the peculiarities of HDPE. It really only bonds with itself.
  2. Thanks TJ. PM sent
  3. If your sled is made with HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), then nothing will stick to it except itself. It will be embossed somewhere on the plastic, likely near the manufacturing info. Just cut up a 5 gallon bucket (preferably black) into strips and use a heat gun from Crappy Tire to melt it in. Practice on the remains of the bucket first. I have repaired plastic floatation like this many times. Good luck.
  4. Gerritt, That is awesome Man! Always knew you were a stand-up Gentleman! Hopefully, the Boss agrees!
  5. Dang!!! Congrats Gerritt!

  7. Just a note on storing fuel. I had a '95 Plymouth mini van with about an 1/8th of a tank of regular unleaded in it. I had it sitting in my yard for almost 3 years. Any time i wanted to start it, it started and ran fine. I took it for a spin and it ran great. A few weeks ago, I sold it. I went and added $10.00 of regular unleaded to it and this didn't even bring it to 1/4 tank on the gauge. I took it in for an emission test and it passed with flying colours! Just how bad did this gas get in all that time? One argument I heard a long time ago regarding running everything dry for storage, was that any seals could dry out over the storage period. I have always just used Stabil stabilizer in my motors and left the fuel in them. It has worked for many, many years.
  8. For a second or two.....it almost looked like opening day of Trout season on the Lake O tribs!
  9. Way to go Dan! Congrats on the win and I'm glad things are starting to fall into place for your trip. Enjoy!
  10. Awesome fishing! Thanks for sharing that video of the nice Laker with us. Can you tell me what the recipe is for the batter you fried the fish in? It looks real good and puffs up nice and crispy. Thanks
  11. They are excellent products, but as already pointed out, these things must have been abused! They are very rugged motors! If the shafts are not bent, call Aikmans in Mississauga or Rockies in Orilia and check on what the parts would cost to repair.
  12. Mercman, What is the current status with CAMCO (or Mabe) these days. I have been out of the appliance business for quite a while now, but used to service a lot. I always tried to stay with the CAMCO makes (GE, White, McClary, etc.) over all others. I was always able to get parts very reasonable. I guess even they have gone the way of the Dodo bird now? Home Depot always has very good pricing on appliances and we have bought our laundry units there. I recently bought a new LED TV from Sears. cctd2006, what is your honest opinion on the extended warranty they offer on appliances through Sears? It seems too good to be true! You pay for it now, but if you don't use the extended warranty, you get a full refund in store credit at the end of the warranty period? Seems it would be hard to make money with this type of deal.
  13. I have a couple of additions to this post! At Christmas, it has been a tradition for us to order Chinese food on Christmas eve and the whole family joins us. I always order enough for left overs on Christmas day as well. We have our Turkey Dinner on Boxing Day for various reasons. The last 4 years, we have had to pick our order up because delivery is unavailable for this area. This year, i ordered $143.00 worth of food and was told it would be 2 hours. Not a big problem, but I was a little taken aback by this. We headed into town right on time an found the whole place packed with people. There must have been 15 to 20 people in this tiny little take-out joint waiting for their orders! Some told us they ordered 4 hours earlier that day and some said they ordered the day before. It was Christmas eve and everyone was in a pretty good mood but it was frustrating. I waited for another full hour for our order. What was I to do? I couldn't go home empty handed with 11 people waiting on me! I thought the Management should have come out from the back kitchen and said something. Instead, they left the part time staff (kids) to deal with people who were starting to get angry. I think they could also have offered us a can of pop or something while we waited for the inconvenience? They just kept taking orders. Anyways, we got home and found they had shorted us one item off our order, but still charged us for it.. The food was excellent tasting as always and I never complained. I thought about it, but with the holidays and all, I just never bothered. I'm pretty sure they are the only Chinese Food place left in town! On another note, my Youngest Daughter worked for a short time at a new Wild Wing's franchise in Brampton. The staff was expected to have their own float of change on them when they showed up (minimum $20.00) and had to purchase all orders themselves before they served a customer the food. If you didn't pay, they got stuck paying for it. Very strange way of doing business in my opinion!! Thankfully, She found something better and quit. Anyone else hear of this sort of practice? I have had other bad experiences in restaurants. Some i did not tip in if it was the servers fault. If it was the restaurants fault, I usually complain to the manager and usually it is settled. The two Pizza Hut stories are a real laugh.....now, but not at the time I guess?
  14. Hey Steve, Glad to hear things are going well with the family down in PA. I don't think I have been to the Old Firehall since you left! I guess since you became an ex XXL, wings are off the menu? Take care!
  15. Happy Birthday Cliff!
  16. "Absolutely! a "Single Set up" can effectively IMPROVE your fishing skills" Did my Wife put you up to this???? LOL What kind of fun would that be?
  17. LOL....I'm thinking....whats the big deal? They had an accident and got her back upright......till they did........oooops!
  18. If you look at the packages, they have a chart on the back that shows brightness level versus life expectancy. I went wit a pair of normal OEM equal lamps from Sylvannia that I bought at WallyWorld for about $20.00 per pair. The standard bulbs have the very longest life expectancy to them. I really don't notice the difference in light level. The NightHawks were a little bluish coloured light from the blue stripe on them. What ticked me off more than anything was that the drivers side bulb on her car is right tight behind the battery. It was almost easier to remove the battery to get at it!!! Luckily I could pull the car inside at work to get at them in comfort.
  19. Congrats to the winners! TJ, that was downright awesome! It was done real legit like!
  20. Very sorry to read this Rick. You have my condolences and I hope things go as well as possible for your Grandmother. Take care.
  21. I had the same bulbs in my wifes car. They lasted about 6-7 months as well. I paid $60 and returned them to ctc for a full refund. They have a one year warranty. The reason they burn out fast is because they burn hotter to produce brighter light. Oem lights last many years.
  22. Welcome to the board! PM sent! Thanks
  23. Joey, Did you by chance come across an idiot at some point recently? LOL
  24. Beautiful fish!
