  1. What a lucky little dude! A great Dad, a beautiful pup for a friend, fishing mid week, and yes, Jack does get nicer lunches than most of us!!! Way to go!
  2. It all stems from an age old concept.........called GREED! They are getting us to pay those prices, so why not charge them?
  3. Entropy, Thanks, but I am North of Orangeville between there and Shelburne. Anyone know of any decent options for this area? Gerritt and Raf, Thanks for your take on this. If anyone understands this stuff, it would be you two! I get download speeds close to 3 mbps early in the morning, but prime time drags way down. It was just under 1 mbps a short while ago.
  4. Hey Folks, Are there any other users of this service out there? We have had it for 5 years now (Not many other options) and suddenly we were shut down without notice or warning on Friday. I tried calling Friday night, but of course got no where. The kid on the phone told me they shut it all down on Tuesday Feb.14th. I said mine was working fine on Friday morning, just not when I got home. He could care less! Anyways, tonight I started on them again and after almost 3 hours (most of it on hold) I finally got it reconnected! Apparently we were not supposed to be shut down in this area! I feel they had lost track of these systems out there and this was there way of locating the users. WiMax is a portable modem that has to "see' the tower it is communicating with. Whoever called in, they reconnect if you are in an area they want to support. Luckily that is me. The only other choice is a Turbo Hub or Turbo stick, but the cost is much higher for heavy users. This WiMax is not capped or limited other than the 3 mbps speed which we never see. It ain't great, but it works for us.
  5. Yes indeed Josh, well done. It sure is nice to see these types of columns back in the papers again.
  6. Alex, I never met you or your Dad, but from what I've read here, he was quite a man. I'm very sorry for your families loss. You have my deepest condolences.
  7. I'd be sitting a little higher in the seat if that thing came crashing through my windshield! LOL
  8. Great trip, pictures, and fish! Thanks for sharing that with us. Good to see Gman on here again too! Seems like it has been a while!
  9. Welcome to the board SalmonSammy! Enjoy!
  10. Happy Birthday Billy Bob ol' man! Hope you had a good one!
  11. Pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers for me please!
  12. Congratulations and thanks for sharing that with us. Sounds like the apple does not fall too far from the tree! You have definitely done something right raising that one!
  13. Glad to hear that Dave! Now as for the officer issuing the ticket, I really think this should be brought up to her Superiors. She is out there tying up the court system with this drivel and wasting everyones time and money! If it turns out that they support her actions, well at least you will know what state we are really in in this Country! I mean, come on, would I have stopped him, yes of course, but only to make him aware. That's it! In the mean time, there are absolute morons out on the streets pulling all kinds of crap that IS SERIOUS, but this cop is busy playing her little games! Makes you sick sometimes when you think of how ridiculas this whole thing is!
  14. Lew, Do you see many Bucks out your way? All we ever see is Doe's around here, but I did have a huge Buck jump out in front of me on Airport road last week! It was just at Dusk as expected.
  15. Eddie Shack Wayne, there still is a shop in Caledon on Hwy 10 that has his name on it!
  16. I did my survey Craig, and I know this has no relevance, but I really like to catch Kim Stricker's Hook N Look. I know, I know, it is American, but I learn the most from his underwater filming! I used to Love Bob Izumi's show in the early days, but it is just one big infomercial today (as are most of the others in your list).
  17. Thanks Blaque! Even your link seems low key! You would think this would be front page for sure! What is everyone afraid of...that research funding might be redirected away from their own work? Sad, but this industry of "searching for a cure" employs a lot of people. What would they do if a cure was found?
  18. You just know they are scamming us some how! The US Tim's Extra Large looks bigger, but when I checked and did a comparison in the Spring, theirs is a smaller diameter and slightly taller. Ours still held more coffee! The video by the OP is hilarious!
  19. Ron, We notice the same thing every day driving home! It sure is a nice sign when the days get longer.
  20. I had one installed in my Wife's 2004 Pontiac Vibe. It was bought and installed at Future Shop. It works great and She loves it! I wouldn't call the installers exactly skilled tradesmen, but it does work!
  21. Island lake in Orangeville has warm comfortable huts that are a very short walk from shore. On shore, they have real nice heated washrooms with all the comforts (Not Porta Potties!) You can rent by the morning, afternoon, or all day! They sell minnows and supply the pails. When the girls have had enough, you can see the Timmie's and several restaurants (Kelsey's, Montanas) from the huts! What more could you ask for? They open at 8 am. I suggest go for a half day and then take em' for lunch or dinner afterwards to warm up! Oh, and I've been married for 31 wonderful years to a great woman and raised 3 Daughters. This ain't my first rodeo! LOL The last time I went there and took their husband/boyfriends, the women brought Timmie's out to us on the ice!
  22. The place we liked best was a small restaurant named "Beso's". It is just down the road from Sundownwers right in Half Moon Bay. The snorkelling there was fantastic and there are some very reasonable places to stay there...including one owned by a couple from Quebec.
  23. Kelvin, I'm speechless. I don't know that we have ever met in person (perhaps briefly at an event?), but I certainly feel your pain, and after all these years on this board, I feel I do know you. Sounds like a wonderful marriage to a wonderful woman and friend. You have my deepest condolences and will be in my thoughts. Be well.
  24. I'll second that opinion! I was there as part of a cruise last March. We spent the day at a secluded local beach and loved it! We snorkelled all day out to a reef that was loaded with fish. I think I still might have our drivers card somewhere. I went outside the ships port to find this local guy and he showed us some amazing places for a real good price. He picked up his wife, kids, and a nephew along the ride back from the beach and he showed us where they lived and such. I had a great time and would love to go back there for a week as well.
  25. Yes, Dr. Bruce Condello is a Dental Surgeon from Nebraska that is very well known and respected for raising huge strains of Bluegills. He catches tons of em (and evidently, huge Crappie as well!) and this fish most likely came from a private lake or pond. He has the opportunity to fish some very exclusive waters.
