  1. Have you checked with the local Amish/Mennonites in that area? I've heard they do a fine job at really reasonable rates.
  2. Days like today make me glad I'm still driving a diesel, still at .97 a litre, 675km, $51.00 and that's towing my boat for half the distance.
  3. Housing, housing of what? Could be a split in the fuel line, needle valve has crud around it, isn't sealing properly. Bro's lawnmower recently had gas slowly dripping out of the air intake, dropped the float bowl, took out the needle, the tiny tiny piece of crud on tip of the needle kept it from closing. Reassembled and all is fine again.
  4. Feel sorry for the locals but as I understand it, isn't it pretty much built on/in a swamp?
  5. Which glue did you recommend to them..
  6. You must be referring to Dave Bulger?
  7. That sounds pretty gnarly.
  8. Everyone should be with their noses to the grindstone at work inside, not monkeying around outside at that time of day, save for those on shift work or days off.
  9. Somehow those two comments are an oxymoron. Cardinal rule, keep both hands on the bar. The microsecond a bee or junebug smashes you in the face your body reaction will most likely send you into the rhubarb.
  10. Love the metric system for its simplicity, everything works by multiplying or dividing by 10's. Wouldn't it be nice to have a metric clock..
  11. Yech, haven't drank that brand in years.
  12. Well you might get a bit uncomfortable pulling a (RvW) Rip van Winkle waiting that long. They were contemplating the Cummins 5.0 but they too fell asleep and Nissan grabbed them. Not all that great for mileage either. Read a bit about some of the Yota diesels, some good, and some were total junk, at least by owners comments.
  13. Yes and a number of others that have them are right about there too. Maybe do a check on duramax problems before you jump. As far as I know, RAM is now selling the EcoDiesels again.
  14. Believe what you want or not, I've used just over 2400 litres of fuel for over 25000km and the tank is full so you may as well add another 12-1300km and figure it out. I've got it logged in a book and no cheating. I don't go by the truck calculator (lie-o-meter)
  15. I've kept a log book from day one. For a total of just over 25,000km the total average is 9.7l/km (30mpg) Worst in winter was 11.8l/100km(24 mpg) towing cargo trailer with atv and fishing gear. Best is 7.3l/100km (38.6 mpg). If I go on a longer highway trip, I can get that down to 7.1 holding at around 110km/h.
  16. One of the problems with Toyota is their lousy fuel consumption, I'm using less than half of that and even towing boat, cargo trailer or 22 foot travel trailer I'm doing better than their lowest usage.
  17. Thanks but not all the way current on some, Yamaha only goes to 2003.
  18. Maybe look at the 3 wheelers, more stable on road and when you have a passenger less chance of tilting when you're not expecting it and how to react.
  19. Look out for sore ribs after the first day of paddling. It's sort of akin to curling, first time and you didn't know you had muscles in some places.
  20. I tried Flickr and seems to work fine for me.
  21. The claws on that would make a lot of women with fake fingernails blush, lol.
  22. Looks like it's got a fix on something that's about to become food.
  23. Thanks. things ya make in the dead of winter.
  24. Somewhere in banjo country...
  25. I've got mine down to 7.1l/100km a couple times now.
