  1. Go see Canada Bearing or other bearing shop to get quality bearings.
  2. Contrary to popular belief, not all are "standard", there are 1inch and 1 1/16th axles, some also have a larger inner bearing set. Take the hub off, take out the seal and see the numbers etched onto the edge of the cones. Also do yourself a favour and get double lipped seals, far more efficient at keeping the water out and grease in.
  3. All depends how you take care of them. My 96 Honda 25 had some gaskets replaced 3 years ago, when the mechanic looked inside he was amazed at the complete lack of wear on moving components, valve train etc. Synthetic oil was the answer, In almost 20 years of running valves had never been adjusted or required it. Compression was still at 100%. My son has had it for 3 years and put a pile of miles on it and still fine.
  4. Not the motor, the boats not made for that weight.
  5. Ya they have a pretty good reputation http://www.polaris.com/en-ca/company/article/polaris-recalls-sportsman-850-and-1000-atv-due-to-burn-and-fire-hazards
  6. No smoke from an Etec, probably cuz it's not running
  7. I wonder how well Toons would shed 6/0 treble hooks on muskie lures..
  8. I'm definitely with Fish Farmer on this one, want to go faster, get a bigger motor. As for hole shot, the take off only lasts 2-3 seconds, so that's another mute point for me. It's like the big lifted trucks, humongous tires and lack of muffler, has to do something with small nu.. I mean fasteners.
  9. You didn't actually count them now did you..
  10. I hear Merc is adding longer recoil rope so you don't have to buy any to make an anchor.
  11. No different than the idiots that have extreme headlamps that look like a nuclear explosion, red signal markers to the front, you name it, some idiot will buy it just because. As for the drones, go join MAAC and at least get some training and fly where you won't get in anyone's face or propwash.
  12. 2 Stroke, 4 stroke and now diesel anchors. What will Merc think of next.
  13. X2, They have new and used and are far cheaper than the dealers in town. I got mine there last year. Very good service.
  14. Oh ya, gotta pay attention, cuz if you don't, you're getting hosed. A lot of people "just pay" because it must be right and that goes for your monthly statements of hydro, NG, phone/internet/TV. You wouldn't believe how many times I've picked up errors..in my favour.
  15. Big difference, no more carrying around spare bulbs that seem to quit at the most inopportune time. Everything is sealed.
  16. Or a photocopy of a disabled parking permit.
  17. Not to make fun of a possible serious issue, did he have white powder around his lips, maybe a sugar rush.
  18. I think there's a "bit" of difference when the waters 33F and your dressed with winter clothes.
  19. You can't fix stupid.
  20. Surprising, they are usually a pretty good machine.
  21. What brand of ATV out of curiosity.
  22. Yes go with the long shaft otherwise you'll be blowing bubbles and not going anywhere fast. Been there, done that, even with me making a stand off to lower the kicker, it didn't get enough bite under the hull.
  23. Cabelas has them in their boating section, BPro probably does too.
  24. That's reality. One of the worst I ever came across was 40 years ago, 02:30, saw the medics and cops on the side of the road by a cornfield, sweeping downhill curve. A drunk had really been "giving it", lost control, the passenger side of the car collided with one of the really large wooden hydro poles. The cops and medics were going through the cornfield looking for the passengers head which had been ripped off by the force of the impact. Found out later the drunk driver survived.
