Yes, Good Luck all!! Not preaching - but I heard an awful story this year during moose.. Small reminder. Be aware of your target and beyond - Be Safe.

Some good guidance above. Largies are a tough bite this time of year in these parts. Both the senko and jig/pig are slow moving baits. Great for this time of year. Find some green weeds if you can. If not find some deep wood or rock. But don't beat yourself up, Largie fishnig is tough in Nov but your using the right baits. Slow falling, slow action. As for a jig trailer, any craw or jig chunk will work. I use plastic chunks. Good luck Phil

Just got my new order of Okuma Raw II Float Reels in! In Stock for those who maybe interested in this amazing reel. http://www.etackle.ca/new-okuma-raw-ii-float-reel-1002/ -
Looks the exact same as the Eskimo that I will stock except the colour. Tough to lose that sucker on the ice!

Compass eh, I have an app for that!

with your discount just grab it GBW. However, if you are paying full price I'd do a bit more research and compare them to other brands in the price range.

Roy, I've been more inclined to do the opposite. Usually when I am on fish near ice out I can hit those same waypoints when the lakes opensup and still get them. An example of this is Whities on Simcoe. As Bill M said. I never hit the ice with out a GPS, even if just for safety reasons. I've been turned around once in a freak blizzard, that scared me enough for this lifetime.

You did sir. First one in Canada anyways. Guess which handsome devil kept the 2nd? I have more coming in soon, can reserve one if anyone wants. They sold out fast. Can pre-order the Raw II spinning reels as well. http://www.etackle.ca/new-okuma-raw-ii-float-reel-1002/ -

Agreed. Hooked, I live in Bowmanville. I have a 5 and 3 yr old. Love it here. Clean town, lots of festivals. Great Schools and sports assoc. For fishing - 1.5 hours from Picton. 2 mins to Port Darlington Lake O. Tribs fishing, well, smack dab in the middle. Bowmanville Creek in my backyard and Duffins/ganny 15mins either way. And those in between. 30ish mins to scugog, trilakes, rice. 1'ish hour commute to work in Toronto. Same commute time wise as co-workers who live in Richmond Hill. 2 to 3 times the house for your money in B-Town too. I considered a move to Ottawa and got some great advise form the board here. But after lining things up, I am in a good spot, live in a smaller town atmosphere while still making the big smoke moola. That being said I have friends who live in very nice neighbourhoods in Peterborough. Personally I am not a fan of the place to live but it is nice to visit.

I used to get mad and frustrated Mike but I learned it will do nothing but change my mood. So now I just continue on or move. Not worth my anger. I have kids I need to save that for.

Gerry Rafferty, "Right Down the Line" Great tune. -
Guys who have ice fished with me know I never bored, I just start making swiss cheese.

The creator is different, the mods are different, the members are different and the board format is different. Simply put OFC is outside the norm, some get it and some don't.

Would it have to do with the fact everytime we have gone ice fishnig it was -30? x2, can't wait.

I would like to fish from shore more. I have spent years bouncing around the ponds in boats. I would like to use some of that knowledge and put it to use fishing from shore where I can sneak away for an hour or two with no prep work at all or expense. I have multi-speices Lake O at my doorstep, we'll see what I can do this fall when some fish move shallow.

Thanks for the heads up!

My Dad was a firefighter. There were two things he was guaranteed to blow a gasket about, leaving something on the stairs and not wearing seat belts.
