  1. I knew alot of guys from the firehalls that worked in the funeral homes Roger, some even owned their own limos. Lots of the guys worked for Brinks too.
  2. Some nights it was rather unpleasant Paul...to say the least
  3. Bright & sunny over here in the Kawarthas but sposed to get a few flurries later on.
  4. Cold always seems worse when you have to work in it compared to playing in it Paul
  5. Paying for something over time is never the best option but if your without heat now it may be something to look into. No idea what the monthly costs would be but I'm sure a furnace company could work something out for you. And with the proper type of furnace no chimney is neccesary. Hope it all works out for you.
  6. Best of luck in your new ventures Nick, I have a feeling you'll do just fine. As for the part time work, there's always plenty of jobs around. Out of my 32 years on the Fire Dept. I spent 25 of them working on my days off, as do most firemen. Most of the time I was driving trucks but other than that I did everything from driving cabs, to painting houses to cleaning offices. Lotsa work around for anyone who wants it. Go get 'em.
  7. That was a good day Wayne, no fish but lotsa laughs. And Chris, that was a day I actually wore long pants LOL
  8. It's a beautiful ship Kelvin and I used to visit it myself when it was in Toronto.
  9. I always carry booster cables just in case.
  10. Speaking of Lego's, any of you folks familar with HMCS Haida may find this intertesting.
  11. That's such great news Joey considering only a couple weeks back they said his sight was gone for good. Really happy for the little guy and looking forward to seeing him again in June.
  12. How's Ralphie doing now Joey, the eyesight still holding up ??
  13. Awesome picture Dave, nuthin wimpy about you !!
  14. No thank you Sir, I'm definitely a softwater kinda fisherman
  15. I have far more important things to do with my life than to waste it with morons on a telephone. I just hang up.
  16. I use a product called Storage Seal, just remove the 4 plugs, give a squirt into each cylinder and replace the plugs. Hit the key for 2 seconds and it's good to go for the winter. Been doing this with a couple 4 strokes for the last 15 years and never an issue.
  17. Neighbors think I'm crazy cause I wear shorts all winter unless I'm gonna be outside for a couple hours.
  18. In Canada, we wear shorts all year long Art
  19. Sad news Norm, Maureen sure does love her dogs.
  20. I'm agreeing with you 110% on the scenery Chris, it makes a huge difference on a fishing trip. I spend alot of time fishing muskies on the West Arm of Nipissing and the place is gorgeous, very similar to parts of GBay & the French with the granite & pines. I've often said I could fish for a week and get skunked but still come home saying it was a fabulous trip. Lake St. Clair puts up some huge fish but offers absolutely nothing in the way of scenery and to me that makes a huge difference in a trip. Some nice fish but nothing to go with them.
  21. I've posted this picture a few times before but it's one of my favorites. This is my dad fishing back in the 50's but I have no idea where it was taken. That old baitcaster rig he's using is the rod & reel I learned to fish with and that's the boat I 1st learned how to drive. Notice the steering wheel is on the left side of the boat and there's 2 levers for the controls, one to put the motor in gear and the other for throttle.
  22. Looked out the back door and hour ago and there were 19 of them LOL
  23. I don't have an ATV, infact I've never even been on one, but I've had a 150 Yamaha outboard for about 6 years now and it's been flawless and has never been in the shop other than to get a new impeller for regular maintenance and if I ever decided to get an ATV it'd be a Yamaha without even looking at any others.
  24. All your pictures are great but this is one of my favorites !!
  25. 10 or 12 years ago my daughter and I were out on the water before sunrise casting a small stand of pencil reeds for musky. We were the only boat on the lake until off in the distance I hear a boat coming. We watch as he goes along the far shore then makes a 90 and comes right towards us, 3 guys in a bassboat. They pull directly in front of me, not 30' away, and the driver says good morning. I didn't answer him but threw my next cast right at his fancy boat and bounced a very large spinnerbait of the side of it. He yelled at me to be carefull and I said I couldn't help hitting him as he parked right on the spot I was casting at. I fired my next cast and scored another bullseye. He mumbled something about me being a jerk as he fired up his motor and they left to go harrass someone else. Most guys you meet on the water are good but every now and then we have to put up with morons.
