  1. And yet another post bites the dust...so friggen sad.
  2. Clear Lake in the Kawarthas was wide open yesterday and today it's completely frozen over but I sure wouldn't go out on it. I was by Chemong an hour ago and it's the same, basically frozen right across. Sposed to be in the 40's later this week so that should get rid of it again..
  3. Different type of crowd around here these days it would seem Kelvin, the G2G's used to be a real popular thing at one time.
  4. You got yourself some nice fish this year Mike and good to see your gonna spend more time casting too, it's a great way to catch'em.
  5. Sorry to hear that Sam, it's a lousy disease and hopefully Princess Margaret has some good news for you. My wife beat it last year so don't ever give up hope bud.
  6. This site has always been about loads of topics other than fishing and is what keeps this place so interesting and has always been the norm.
  7. I store firewood on my old skids, yours looks much nicer. Really nice job !!
  8. So how'd you like driving in the snow with the new winter tires Steve ?
  9. Congrats on the retirement, it's the best gig going.
  10. Guess your gonna find out just how good those winter tires really are Steve, sounds like a bunch of white stuff heading our way tomorrow evening.
  11. When your driving in snow with your new dedicated winter tires Steve you'll wonder why you didn't buy them years ago, and you and yours will be much safer now too. You'll get far better traction both going forward and stopping and when you go into a turn you'll hold the road the way your sposed to.
  12. I'll agree with everyone else, no such thing as too much power with the troll motor and when the wind is howling you'll be happy you went "overkill"
  13. My wife doesn't have a drivers license so she went to Service Ontario and got a Photo I.D. card and that is all the I.D. she's ever needed and she's never been questioned on it. Just another idea for you.
  14. Just guessing here but the fact that it's expired may render it as unacceptible.
  15. We've all seen the strange warning labels on things we buy and shake our heads wondering who would be foolish enough to do what they're telling us not to. Don't injest the paint, don't use the hair dryer in the shower, even my wheel barrow tire has a warning not to use at hiway speed. Today for Christmas my wife bought me a clock in the shape of a saw blade for the shop and I honestly can't believe the warning on the back of the box. Is anyone really dumb enough to try and use these blades on their circ or table saw ??
  16. That stinks Dave, sure hope things work out for you and everybody else who's affected by this.
  17. I got out of the Navy in '67 and had awhile to wait before getting on the Fire Dept. and my buddy got me on with a private company at the airport. We had our own private hangar and looked after Eastern, American, Caladonia and BOAC Only terminal out there in those days was the old round terminal 1 and Dixon Rd was a country lane compared to today. That tarmac is a cold unforgiving place when the winter storms are blowing across those wide open fields.
  18. Heck of a lousy Christmas present from Mother Nature..
  19. I've had my furnace turned off all afternoon and the house is still 75F just with the sun coming through the windows.
  20. Any chance you trucks battery cables are corroded and not letting enough juice flow from the battery to engage the starter ?
  21. Thanks bud and Merry Christmas to you & Betty.
  22. Thats great that you've been friends with that group for so many years and still going strong Tomcats. Love reading those kind of stories !!
  23. I used to always work Christmas or New Years alot, infact so often it just became another day but that's all behind me now and I sure don't miss working those times. Howzbout you guys, anyone stuck working the Holidays ??
