My neighbor had 3 sumps that ran 24/7 every day of the year. He got tired of it too and sold the house and moved into the city a couple months back. Most on this road are on a high water table but at least for me my sump only runs for about a month in the spring when the snow is melting.

When I was stationed in Halifax in the mid 60's the Stadacona Naval Base had a pub and Friday night was nickle night. You could go in with a dollar and party all evening -
Lovin this El Nino, I just got back in from a 3 mile hike wearing shorts & a light sweater and I've got flowers still growing in the garden beside the Christmas decorations. Santa better take the runners off his sleigh and put the wheels on

My brother commuted from Durham into downtown Toronto every day for about 25 years. He theory was you'll never beat the traffic jams and if you let it worry you or continually look for shortcuts you'll go bonkers. His way was just close the car windows and put your favorite music on the radio and go with the flow. Said he always reached his destination relaxed and in a good mood. Always made sense to me but then again I could walk to work in 20 minutes LOL

There ya go.

Maybe we'll have to share it

Great find for sure Joey My dad grew up in Saskatchewan through the '30's and spent all summer, every summer, working on his uncles farm. They had a couple cows and they wore identical bells as yours. Many many years later Dad went back to Saskatchewan to visit his now retired uncle and was given one of the bells as a gift. That bell hung in Dad's den for years and after his death I asked Mom if I could have it but it had disappeared and nobody knew where it was. I'd love to have it today to hang in my own den.

What a sweet little pup Joe and congrats on the new addition to your family.

Wonderful news and fingers crossed it continues to be good. Seems we both already got what we wished for.

Thanks Chris, I've been smiling all afternoon.

Your right Wayne, material things don't always count for much.

It's been 13 months since my wife had surgery to get rid of a cancer and then that was followed by 3 months of chemo. She now goes every 3 months for cat-scans & x-rays and then a meeting with her surgeon. We did that today and once again the doc says she's all clear and healthy as a horse. That's all the Christmas present I want.

My rods & reels live right in my boat year round.

I know what your saying Joe, I was just commenting on how insane salaries are becoming for athletes compared to the salaries of folks who actually make a difference in this world....like the surgeon that saved my wife's life. The imbalance is just ridiculous.

I don't watch many sports and actually find baseball about as exciting as watching grass grow, but when I read about a guy getting an absolutely stupid salary like 31 million a year for throwing a ball around I just have to shake my head and wonder where the priorities are in this world. A year ago a cancer surgeon used his skills & saved my wife's life and although I have no idea how much a surgeon like him earns, he probably makes less in a year than this pitcher makes in a week to throw a ball. I know it's apples and oranges but it sure doesn't make any sense to me, but of course that's only my opinion.

No, it was decomissioned many moons ago and the Artificial Reef Society in BC has been fighting in court for years to get permission to sink her. It's been 50 years since I served on Annapolis and I'm sure my name was forgotten a long time ago. I don't know if any former crew members were offered anything but I sure wasn't.
-
I've seen the Columbia sinking before but would have like to see it again. My brother served aboard Columbia back in '65, the same time I was aboard Annapolis. They've sunk a few of them now as well as an old airliner. This is a shot of Annapolis just as she was going down beneath the waves earlier this year. And this is a shot of her back in her better days when I served aboard her.

I bought Merrell sandals similar to the ones pictured a few years back and the stitching started coming loose the same day. I returned them for another pair and those ones lasted 2 weeks and again the stitching was coming loose. I returned them and got my money back and swore I'd never buy anything made by Merrell again. They used to be a great name but not so much anymore.

Looks like I found this post too late. Was it the sinking of my old ship Annapolis ??

You guys are having a good week Mike.
