Almost 60 hours in the past 3 weeks, but we finally took the stink

I'm agreeing with you 110% on the scenery Chris, it makes a huge difference on a fishing trip. I spend alot of time fishing muskies on the West Arm of Nipissing and the place is gorgeous, very similar to parts of GBay & the French with the granite & pines. I've often said I could fish for a week and get skunked but still come home saying it was a fabulous trip. Lake St. Clair puts up some huge fish but offers absolutely nothing in the way of scenery and to me that makes a huge difference in a trip. Some nice fish but nothing to go with them. -
I've posted this picture a few times before but it's one of my favorites. This is my dad fishing back in the 50's but I have no idea where it was taken. That old baitcaster rig he's using is the rod & reel I learned to fish with and that's the boat I 1st learned how to drive. Notice the steering wheel is on the left side of the boat and there's 2 levers for the controls, one to put the motor in gear and the other for throttle.

Looked out the back door and hour ago and there were 19 of them LOL

I don't have an ATV, infact I've never even been on one, but I've had a 150 Yamaha outboard for about 6 years now and it's been flawless and has never been in the shop other than to get a new impeller for regular maintenance and if I ever decided to get an ATV it'd be a Yamaha without even looking at any others.

All your pictures are great but this is one of my favorites !!

10 or 12 years ago my daughter and I were out on the water before sunrise casting a small stand of pencil reeds for musky. We were the only boat on the lake until off in the distance I hear a boat coming. We watch as he goes along the far shore then makes a 90 and comes right towards us, 3 guys in a bassboat. They pull directly in front of me, not 30' away, and the driver says good morning. I didn't answer him but threw my next cast right at his fancy boat and bounced a very large spinnerbait of the side of it. He yelled at me to be carefull and I said I couldn't help hitting him as he parked right on the spot I was casting at. I fired my next cast and scored another bullseye. He mumbled something about me being a jerk as he fired up his motor and they left to go harrass someone else. Most guys you meet on the water are good but every now and then we have to put up with morons.

The snowmans got it figured out now Brian LOL

Came across this article in yesterdays Peterboro paper. Looks like it could be but it's not a great picture so who knows ? https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CBwQFjAAahUKEwj5tdady5DJAhVEGR4KHdKbC2c&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thepeterboroughexaminer.com%2F2015%2F11%2F13%2Fwoman-thinks-a-cougar-was-on-her-property-on-cedar-valley-road-near-fraserville&usg=AFQjCNG5XlPEHzaUuLGbc5iKJrEdP3BwWA

Let's not forget guys, there's lots of BIG muskies in GBay and plenty of guys do very well at catching them. You just need to know where they are. Graham Bristow is a perfect example. https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CBwQFjAAahUKEwj7yJ-ixY3JAhWJXB4KHa25ARs&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ontariomusky.com%2FYour_Guide.html&usg=AFQjCNFHE3ZjrWFsPgQr5suZM7gEd1PoIg -

If you get out that way again Pete have Mike take you for a Philly Cheese Steak, you won't need to eat again for a week LOL -
That'd be a great show to see Will I used to enjoy seeing that old plane flying around Toronto during the Ex and sadly haven't seen it since I moved to the boonies.

Took a lot of guts for those guys to face the U Boats basically unarmed. My dad was on convoy escort so who knows, maybe both our dad's even sailed in the same convoys so long ago.

I'm always amazed at some of the comments made on this board.

Good to see you boys finally got into one Wayne. -
My dad served 5 years in the Navy during the war & his brother Bill served 5 years in the Army. Their dad, my grandfather, was a sniper with the British Army fighting in the trenches of France in the 1st war and told me unimaginable stories of things he saw. He was wounded by shrapnel but made it through. Moms brother was a bomber pilot and was killed along with his entire crew when their plane went down. As mentioned earlier in this post another uncle serving with the British Army was captured in Burma and was tortured relentlessly by the Japanese. They were beaten every day with chains and rifle butts for no reason and received one cup of rice a day for the entire time he was a prisoner. Several other great uncles also served in WW1 I'm always extremely proud of what my family has done to help keep good people safe. Dad home on leave in the early 40's And the ship Dad served on, HMCS KITCHENER My grandfather lived a long & happy life after the horrors of trench warfare. Moms brother flying airmail across Ontario before becoming a bomber pilot and being killed fighting the Germans.

I don't know of another company with as good customer service anywhere Bill. I live not too far from them and have been in twice this year for service on reels and both times it was done while I waited and no charge and it doesn't get any better than that.

I was born in '46 Paul, right after the war, and most of my folks friends were veterans and growing up I was always around them so it was just a natural progression for me to join the Navy. Not many of those old vets left these days, on either side of our border.
-
Paul, my dad was Navy for 5 years during the war and most of the men in my family fought but probably the worst stories came from an uncle who was in a Japanese prison camp in Burma for a couple years. The horror stories he told us made it hard to believe what some humans could do to others to inflict as much pain as possible.
-
Paul, I've seen several of those episodes on TV and your right, it's really amazing...and terrifying...what those guys went through.

That's always good to watch every year.
