  1. I was by the Nogies ramp a few days ago and there were several larger boats putting in so yeah, it must still be in good shape.
  2. The place looks good bud, you've come a long ways from days you started jiggy with the tent.
  3. I've been enjoying reading your fishing tales for alot of years now Mike and they've always been entertaining to say the least and hopefully this new venture will be a huge success for you. Best of luck with everything.
  4. Thanks for putting all that together, it made for a fun read.
  5. The customer service at Bay Distributors is 2nd to none. Great folks to deal with.
  6. Not in the least Shane, I've caught a ton of muskies while the rod is tethered and never once did it get in the way. Soon as the fish hits you lift the rod out of the holder and with one hand simply unclip it and lay it down in an out of the way spot and your all set. It's all a personal choice though and if you like the tether their great, but if you'd rather not use one that's good too.
  7. I did well with a 13" jointed Believer in Walleye color Mike, but don't know how it would work out your way. Other than that bait I didn't use too many of the bigger trolling lures and seldom went bigger than 10"
  8. Seen that one before Brian but it's worth another look for sure. You can see the truck driver run away to the left just after the accident.
  9. Don't take me too seriously, I was just having some fun with you Good luck with the bass.
  10. I've never lost anything either Shane but do know a couple guys who have had expensive rigs go over the side. The tether doesn't interfere with anything and only takes a second to unclip when a fish hits.
  11. Nice on jimmer, big fat fish.
  12. Your more than welcome. Forgot to add I make mine 4' long and that works good for me and makes it easy to unclip when you get a fish, but everybody will have their own preference as to length.
  13. I use stainless cable & crimps from Home Depot to put it together with a bit of shrink wrap to make it neat. Loop it around the reel seat then attach the reel to the rod & your good to go. I use the same cable for the tether with brass clips, just loop the cable through the clip, put on the shrink wrap & crimp it together. Same idea for the end you clip to the boat. Been using this set-up for a long time and have never had any issues at all with it. Not saying it's the only way or even the best way but it works good for me.
  14. And I recall another time we went musky fishing and ended the day with poutine .....mmmmm
  15. My winter tires are always in the garage and ready to go, I just watch the weather forecasts and when they call for the 1st snow, then on they go and it's normally in December sometime.
  16. I'm just wondering why anyone would want to catch bass when the lake is full of BIG muskies. That's like turning down prime rib for a hot dog

Bottom left of the main page is an orange square Albert, move your cursor near it and it'll say change theme, that should be what your looking for...I think.
  18. And your more than welcome to it hahaha
  19. There ain't nuthin cute about that white stuff at all
  20. Fun trip with some nice fish to go with it and that tiger is a real beauty too.
  21. Good one Chris, real purdy fish. But I was just scrolling thru the pictures at 1st without reading the text and came across the critter in the snow and couldn't believe you got all that white stuff last night when I'm not too far south and we're sitting here sunny & warm
  22. Sounds like a fun day boys and good that you guys were able to hook up. And your right Roger, it's a definite zoo around the mouth of the river some days. LOL
  23. There's an RC club that rents part of a farm field just a couple miles from me. They cut the runways every week and really look after the place, even got an outhouse there. I often go over just to watch them fly the planes & helicopters.
  24. About 10 years ago a group of us from this board got together for a friendly little musky tournament. I'd never actually met my partner till the day of the tourney and 15 minutes after we started fishing he made a mighty 2 handed cast but forgot to hit the thumb bar, the bait swung around and he clubbed me in the back of the head with a 7" solid wood musky bait called a Wakemaker. If you can imagine getting hit with a baseball bat, that's what it felt like and I saw stars for an hour. Luckily the big 7/0 hooks missed my scalp and the pain wasn't nearly as bad as you'd think. He felt terrible...obviously...but it was an accident and within a few minutes we were laughing about it. Best part though, was I went on to win the tourney and pocketed $50 for my troubles and that made it all worthwhile
  25. Hope the owners got lotsa Polyfil too
