What started as a low level tieing for minimum profit, has got me in a bit deeper then expected, but the rewards of seeing what I can do, is a bonus. Retirement is coming and well, I want to keep my hands and brain busy . Some of my latest works. 20240414_060435.jpg

I'll have to place an order Brian before the fall.   ;)

Man oh Man Misfish, They look incredible, not that I'm surprised. Your creations truly blow my mind. I will be hooking up with you in the near future as I am anxious to try them for the western trout and walleye. Thank you.

Thanks gang for the kind words. I have well over 2000+ ties stocked away and building. I have plans on being at the CANCAST 2025 . Talking to some guys that were there last year,I would be well to attend at their tackle swap section. I have have packaging now and labels are being made this week along with cards.

I have a good customer base for my ice grubs and my spring twitch and bead bugs now. Woolly buggers are always selling well.

Like to share a good story . This was from meeting up with an older fella that has tied for a long time.

I had this one fella that was picking through my bugs and wooliys. Asked if he was looking for something particular. He replied, no,I am impressed you use quality materials and hooks especially. Also advised my prices were very generous and should be charging more. I replied,I am comfortable with my selling price, it keeps my customers coming back.

I felt like I was taking a test from this older fly tyer. He asked what I meant by double wrapped woolly. I explained my way of tying them. Lock the hackle at the head, wrap the thread back to the tail, wrap the hackle back, trap the hackle 3 wraps with the thread, then wiggle the thread through the hackle locking it down, back to the head and whip finish. He said not many do that as it,s extra steps ,but mentioned that is how he has done it for years. No messing around with thin wire, as is the norm.

Turns out this guy has been tying for like 40 plus years. I was very humbled.

The guy obviously knows his way around fly tying, same as yourself. Woolly buggers are very popular out west here especially on the Bow River for rainbow and brown.

Interesting.

I have a few guys that buy Tom Thumbs off of me out that way.
