I had to check Lew as it was not a hoax.

I feel a sense of sadness.  A chill really. She is I am sure to many, like a family member.

Bow to you me lady.

RIP OUR QUEEN

Posted (edited)

A milestone in the history of the earth.  The end of an era that goes beyond Britain.

So much has changed and she provided a lot of grace and fortitude.

It must be odd living with a sole purpose of being a figure head.

She did a great job.

Relax.  They are corgis, funny little dogs.  She was 96, she planned for the jokes too.

Which paper had "Charles in Charge" as a headline?

She lived a long and incredibly interesting life and I've always wondered how the Royal family carries themselves behind closed doors.. like most of us there's a lot of family crap that goes on but the Royal family hides it well.. King Charles has some big shoes to fill..

The last dignified public figure that fully understood her role and how to carry herself on the world stage.  She will leave a vacuum, because no-one will be able to follow her class act.

I owe an apology. It was reported earlier that Queen Elizabeth did not have dogs over the past few years. This is untrue. She had stopped prior to Philip's death but relented and added 4 dogs after he passed away. Apparently according to British Press two have been taken by members of the Royal family and two are being cared for by the Royal household. As I said this was reported through British press.

I am not big on the monarchy but I had lots of respect for the queen. Those who have a tendency to criticize her will have lots of time later. For now, give it a rest!

I really liked the bit she did with Paddington bear. By all accounts she was quite kind with a great sense of humor.

All through my public school years, we'd sing God Save the Queen every morning before class. I'm likely 100% wrong here but the Queen gave up the twit to suckle on until Canada could look after itself.
