Old Ironmaker
Was a dock foreman for a few years and have seen some close calls and only 1 collision causing damage to the vessels. In every situation where the boat got out of control alcohol was a factor.
lew
Back in my Navy days we were sailing from Halifax to Charlottetown and took a shortcut thru the Canso Causeway between Nova Scotia & Cape Breton and banged the ship right into the end of the jetty. No real damage but pretty embarrassing with all the tourists watching us. Edited July 12, 2020 by lew

AKRISONER
Something seems weird here...almost as if it’s intentional
Spiel
I've read this morning that it may have been intentional as the red ship had lost helm control.
chrisb
I have been told one of the ships lost steering and they were in contact with each other.

chrisb
The red one? In the video it sure looks like the black ship made the turn in front of the red one.

Exactly, that ship had helm control so it could maneuver to slow the other one down.
