grimsbylander Posted November 5, 2017 Report Posted November 5, 2017 sheet...you guys and Vegas said this was a slam dunk....I guess the season is 82 games long.... In the UFC, this is what's known as fighting from the bottom.
muskymatt Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 Dushene a Senator, not sure how much I like this
lowerunit Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 Colorado seems like they got a lot for Dushene
leaf4 Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 Definitely, considering COL wasn't really dealing from a position of strength... Duchene end of the season is a free agent so he could have walked for nothing
lowerunit Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 I think his contract expires in 2019
leaf4 Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 I think his contract expires in 2019 Correct... 2018/19 season still a lot to give up for 2 or less seasons depending on how he likes it in OTT
AKRISONER Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 (edited) Lmao love watching ottawa make more terrible moves. hahaha Give up a first a third and turris for a guy that doesnt like playing and puts up less points? ahhaha amazing. Well done to Joe Sakic you found a GM and owner stupid enough to take your garbage and give you a pile of gold in return. two words, wade redden LMAO Edited November 6, 2017 by AKRISONER
chris.brock Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 Sometimes guys like Duchene benefit from a fresh start on a new team, but yeah Ottawa did pony up quite a bit to take that gamble. The Sens are officially going all in this season.
grimsbylander Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 The Sens are officially going all in this season. Looks like it but I don't think they're there yet. I think their run in the play-offs last year is giving them a false sense of security.
manitoubass2 Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 I agree Chris, look at marleau. Also Grimsby I agree. But it done now, I wish them luck!????
bow slayer Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 (edited) east is wide open this year and duchene is a huge upgrade over turris, good trade for ottawa basically it is turris for duchene, draft picks have a better chance to not work out then succeed, just check the draft picks from about 3-7 years ago and see how many are playing now,you will be surprised Edited November 6, 2017 by bowslayer
chris.brock Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 draft picks have a better chance to not work out then succeed, just check the draft picks from about 3-7 years ago and see how many are playing now,you will be surprised That reminds me the old Leaf's strategy. Cliff Fletcher once said "draft picks, smaft picks". Not sure I agree with that.

The Sens are officially going all in this season. Sens gave up nothing! Duschene is an upgrade by all standards. Turris wanted 8 years on his contract but yet settled for 6 in Nashville which is a bit of a head scratcher. We kept all our depth and defence and young upcoming talent. Duschene waited a year for a trade, to say he will be coming in invigorated is an understatement. A big win for the Sens IMO
BillM Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 (edited) Only team that made out good on that trade was the Preds. What was Ottawa thinking? 2 first rounders + Turris, Bowers and Hammond? Anyone remember what the Sens gave up to get Bobby Ryan? How's that working out? 7 mil a year for what? A high of 23 goals in a single season? Bahahahahahahaha! Edited November 7, 2017 by BillM

A high of 23 goals in a single season? Bahahahahahahaha! Actually it is for a conditional first round, a second round and a third round. Hammond was a one trick pony and will likely never suit up in the NHL again, a prospect in Shane Bowers...never heard of him. Did you actually see what Ryan did in the playoffs last year? He was a machine. UGH!!!! Laff fans! Edited November 7, 2017 by muskymatt
BillM Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 That's about the only bright spot on Ryan's career. I hope that 7 mil was worth it.
bow slayer Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 That reminds me the old Leaf's strategy. Cliff Fletcher once said "draft picks, smaft picks". Not sure I agree with that. Cliff with the same philosphy guided the \calgary flames to an 80s powerhouse that won a cup,i think draft picks for a proven nhler is a no brainer
chris.brock Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 Actually it is for a conditional first round, UGH!!!! Laff fans! No, the way I understand it is your 1st round pick is gone to the Aves, but not subject to the lottery.
bow slayer Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 being neither a leafs or a sens fan i can't help but sense the jealousy of leaf fans, like it or not the sens got faster and better with this trade
chris.brock Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 alright, I guess start planning the parade route, you win
Acountdeleted Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 Draft picks are like a lottery ticket but you still have to have one to win. Everyone forgets Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf were late first round picks. They don't always hit, but they can.
manitoubass2 Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 Good game for marner! Hopefully this gives him some confidence and he keeps producing. Las Vegas is off to quite the start!
leaf4 Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 Started the game right.... Kinda went off the rails in the second but stuck with it and held on... A wins a win
