chris.brock Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 Winter is still hanging on. A highlight of the weekend was being able to do morning hikes through the bush, while staying on top of the crusty snow, without breaking through. We put on quite a few miles.Easter Sunday I broke through the ice and was suddenly swimming in 60 FOW. There was no warning at all that the ice was weak. When I got out of the water, my rod was bouncing, I iced a laker, then we cautiously got the hell off the ice.I was surprised how quickly and easily I got out of the water and back onto the ice. I just hope this doesn't give me a false sense of confidence and lead to more acts of stupidity.
