Winter is still hanging on.

e1_zpsydfpanl1.jpgA highlight of the weekend was being able to do morning hikes through the bush, while staying on top of the crusty snow, without breaking through. We put on quite a few miles.e2_zps7yp5juop.jpgIMG_04451_zpsrw6bjesr.jpgIMG_04501_zpsl9segota.jpgEaster Sunday I broke through the ice and was suddenly swimming in 60 FOW. There was no warning at all that the ice was weak. When I got out of the water, my rod was bouncing, I iced a laker, then we cautiously got the hell off the ice.IMG_04571_zpshvccs4hq.jpgI was surprised how quickly and easily I got out of the water and back onto the ice. I just hope this doesn't give me a false sense of confidence and lead to more acts of stupidity.

You're right Bri. I included a picture of my shriveled skin rod but Art removed it.

So much for the citiots just falling through the ice. Lol.

In all seriousness, glad you got out!

Thanks VXP. but idiot or citiot would have been a fair reply to this report.

Gallie and Shayne, next weekend, bring your ice gear and a change of clothes, it's not over yet!
