muskymatt Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 Hopefully a good game against the Sens (errrr I meant Pens) tonight! Penguins not Sens (PRAISE ALFIE) And el predicto says Pens 6-laffs 1 for their 4th loss in a row and continuation of the fall back to normal for the laffs. Man , isn't Crosby great ????
lickmyarmpit Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 Check this out I'm loving this, my wings back in east. Realignment for 2013-14 officially announced. Wings are headed East. http://redwings.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=660140
Leecher Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 Hey go easy on muskymatt, his team has only won 4 games of the last 10...... Good point jedi... but I must of struck a sensitive nerve GO HABS GO!!!
Headhunter Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 Who do I dislike more? The Sens, the Habs or the Dead Things? Welcome to the East Dead Things... things just got tougher for yah. HH
davey buoy Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 Hey go easy on muskymatt, his team has only won 4 games of the last 10, its a good thing the NHL awards points for losing or they would be tied for 9th. I was hoping the league would go to a 3-2-1 point system. 3 Points for a regulation win, 2 for an overtime/shootout and 1 for an ot/shootout loss. Its starting to become soccer out there in the third period, teams just sitting back hoping for a tie. Myself,I like the 2 points for the win, nothing for the loser. No matter how they decide it. JMO.
jedimaster Posted March 14, 2013 Author Report Posted March 14, 2013 Yah its a tough one. I am totally fine with a 2 for the win, nothing for the loss. or 3 for the win in OT/reg 2 for a shootout win and 1 for a ot/shootout loss. Lots of ways to slice it but as it stands I really don't like how the current system rewards losing as much as it does.

My point exactly, prolong the game in the last few minutes if you can to at least get a point in overtime/shootout.Just doesn't seem right
davey buoy Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 Anyway, things don't get any easier tonight.
BillM Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 I don't mind no points for a loss, but get rid of the shootout and play until someone scores.
davey buoy Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 I don't mind no points for a loss, but get rid of the shootout and play until someone scores. Like the good ole days!!!!!!I agree.

I wish it was Bill but the format you speak of, is only for the playoffs... I like the shoot out but put's incredible strain on the goaly I think that after 3 periods and it's a tie.... no overtime and each team get's 1/2 point... That would eliminate the extra point gain in OT and SO

Leecher Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 How about 2 OT periods, if no one scores each team gets a point.. I hate the shootout to be honest. Works for me Bill Just got to get Gary Bettman to change the format
DRIFTER_016 Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 Works for me Bill Just got to get Gary Bettman to change the format How about after 2 OT periods if it's still tied an enforcer from each team fight for the win? Last one standing wins!!!!
Leecher Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 How about after 2 OT periods if it's still tied an enforcer from each team fight for the win? Last one standing wins!!!! Great idea Dave
jedimaster Posted March 15, 2013 Author Report Posted March 15, 2013 I would almost rather them just walk off the ice and the game end in a tie rather than do a shoot out to reward an extra point.
davey buoy Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 Your right,it's a team sport, why should there best players have a perfect condition to win a game on a 1 on 1.
knightfisher Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 I don't like the SO. A hot goalie or shooter does not make a team effort. Both teams should be given a single point. The leafs really need this win tonight. Lots of pressure on them. I except them to be on fire tonight.
muskymatt Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 (edited) I would almost rather them just walk off the ice and the game end in a tie rather than do a shoot out to reward an extra point. If the laffs had more ties than regulation losses and benefited from it in the point standings you laffites would be praising the glory of the SO like it was the second coming Instead you just keep losing like the laffs of old!!!! jedimaster Posted March 16, 2013 Author Report Posted March 16, 2013 Big talk from the senioritas... 1 win in there last 7 as I recall..
Dan668 Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 what the hell were they thinking. Really Dion on the shootout.
Jigger Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 Yeah, was tginking the same. And Franzen before that. Grabovski wouldve ended that. Seems to me Carlyle doesnt like him too much.
BillM Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 I cannot believe they didn't put Grabo in... That's an almost a gimme when he's in there.. At least it's a point.. Loved when the fans went insane after Lupuls first goal. Glad to see him back.
nancur373 Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 Last 5 games. Leafs 0-5 Habs 5-0 OLE OLE OLE
