That's a long drive from southern Ont. but those trout make it worth it. I like the west side off Butt. The intimacy of the smaller lakes and rivers is more my style. How were the flies ?

I hope they keep casual campers in mind and not just seasonal (if that's re: tents and trailers). I know Leslie and Kevin were looking at ditching seasonal trailers and there was only the one left by the showers. I hope they reopen soon, I'd like to drive by and see what changes have been undertaken. I liked the mix of cabins, trailers and tenters.

wow ! excellent production values there. do I see slider and boom work or you steadicamming some shots ?

man if the connectors are easy to find, should be too hard to make a bunch of cables up. Would be smart for a third party to make a Cat5 to BNC adapter
-
not familiar with the hardware you have but is the network cable a regular Cat5e cable or a proprietary cable ?

great news and better hours with the family are golden !

your kid won't help you out Cliff ? If I was offered $600 and I was out of work, I'd be all over that like flies on u know what. -
Sadly I don't believe a pfd would have made much difference unless they were wearing appropriate cold weather gear. Wet suit or much better, a drysuit, but not everyone will have or can afford either. With the water temps in the spring, they would have succumbed to hypothermia imo unless they didn't panic. Which is what happens when people hit very cold water very suddenly. I hope they find them so there's closure for the families.

well I'm glad I held off swapping over lol It's not an insane amount of snow in the GTA but enough to make it interesting. Looks like middle of the month before I get around to it.

story now is that he was a few feet away from the car when dude jumped in an drove off. unless there were lots of witnesses to corroborate, I'm not buying. regardless, he shlda taken the keys out of the ignition if he's stepping away from the car.

Sorry, NF, how do you get rid of Fluorescent Bulbs (mercury)
woodenboater replied to Joey's topic in General Discussion
Transfer stations will take household hazard waste such as batteries and fluorescent lights (tube and cfl). I'd think Richmond Hill would have similar arrangements, maybe see what the town website says ? Good luck and thankfully cfl's will be a thing of the past as led becomes more commonplace and affordable. -
If I had a relationship like this with the marina etc, I'd be inclined to cut them some slack. Goes both ways obviously but maybe it's because this was the first time you stored there, this collision of expectations happened. Go back and ask nicely if there's any way he can help a bother out.

Man, I had no idea he was not well. He was of a generation of weather casters (Dave Duvall is another) who made it entertaining.

After I win Lottomax and buy your place, I'll make sure there's a spot for your motor home so you can come and go as you please. You'd probably need a 30amp outlet too ? Enjoy life on the road and I trust we'll be seeing reports from all over Canada ! -
the secret was he used a Line Welder

if I had cup of tea to mouth, keyboard would be soaked loll !

ridiculously spendy but I could see using it in very cold, wet conditions where tying knots with your hands is difficult. don't see many of these selling, even at half the price it's still alotta dough

Shovelled twice before hitting the sack last night, trying to stay ahead. woke up to more snow, more than I thought would fall overnight. drove to work and will have to shovel out driveway properly when I get home. really hoping warm weather next week melts it all but probably not. this winter sucks cuz it's all over the map.

Twitter feed says car went through ice on Simcoe today. No injuries, everyone got out on their own. Anyone see flashing lights or rescue services on scene ?

hey Cliff, I knew you were thinking of full timing but didn't think selling your place was part of the equation. That'd be a tough decision for me but it definitely frees you up to be a wandering spirit ! Look forward to reading about your progress finding a pusher
