great price on that pan. I use de Buyer pans fromt Nikolaou in Toronto (Queen and Bathurst area). Great line of cookware from France. Also saw that Lodge makes a pan very similar to de Buyers that were at Basspro.

Know Anyone Who's Drinking & Driving This Weekend???
woodenboater replied to Pikeslayer's topic in General Discussion
No one does dui/ psa commercials like the Aussies. It's a huge problem there and I wish we had the guts to confront it for what it is and does here. -
there should be a special room on this planet, where people who do this to the elderly, get their due. and I'm not talking within the system.

that plate screams for some good creamy coleslaw !

Underwater VR controlled drone/fishfinder...COOOOL!
woodenboater replied to limeyangler's topic in General Discussion
It's one thing to refer to a finder now and then but if I'm on the West Arm or French or wherever, the last thing I wanna be doing is staring at a mobile device looking for fish. As well, the idea of using that to drop the bait in front of the target seems kind of, I dunno, stupid tbh. Zero challenge. -
no offense intended but I find that hard to swallow. $48 million from fishing and related stuff ? I'd love to see a link to the article on that cuz if it were indeed that much revenue, then Mississauga and other towns would be bending over backwards to accommodate fishermen
-
holee jzayzus and mary craptastic ! I used to float flies on the Credit near Belfountain and hardly ever say another soul but this would keep me off local rivers permanently. sigh... I think the town would be better off putting in a camera and posting pics of the poachers. shame is a great motivator

devil's advocate (who has never fished the Ganny) are they basically trying to recoup costs (and/or discourage slobs) associated with maintenance and cleanup of the river ? Is it covered in garbage during prime fishing season ? but still, $40 is serious coin for one area.

hmm. don't remember seeing that. was it always there or did drone dude edit the video title ?
-
unless you choose to watch it on YouTube, you don't see the disclaimer. I watched it in OFC window and saw nothing about the hoax.
-
man that's brutal news to receive, hope everything goes well and it becomes a story to tell around the fishing lodge or campfire. Good luck with your treatments and may you have many more fishing adventures left to experience.

I can hear the pan sizzling from here lol

this is something that didn't need to happen imo. the key is education and changing attitudes towards safety gear. a floater suit should be something worn on water crossings imo. and safety equipment, throw ropes etc..even an inflatable vest might have helped (presuming they'll inflate in sub zero temperatures) one key is preventing or slowing down the cold water shock the body experiences and that can be the deciding factor. gasps of air = water intake = drowning ( hypothermia if they don't drown) and floater suits *should help in this regard. not dissimilar to paddling whitewater. a drysuit is an entirely different experience going into january rivers vs a wetsuit. that and paddling with a group that you trust your life with (and vice versa).

Atlanta let that slip away ala Toronto Maple Leaf of old

If the CPC want to sit in the big chair, they need Quebec and that means they need Bernier. Leitch is scaring people with her values talk and O'Leary is not as smart as he makes out. See previous Globe and Mail link or this updated one. Bombast works on tv but maybe less so in the real world. I'd take Raitt over O'Leary 24/7/365 http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/streetwise/hot-air-the-truth-about-kevin-olearys-business-history/article33655534/

looks like someone gave him up, if in fact he wasn't properly licensed. or someone at MNR reads OFC

Automatic car starter advice please. Not Fishing related
woodenboater replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
as well as remote starters (had one on my Jeep. loved it). does her car have a block heater ? that will make a big difference as well since everything is warmed up already. won't be a toasty car to get into but I think better for the engine overall. plug it into a timer so it starts warming up a few hours before you need it. -
let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! NF

yup, that would be me too lol -
^^ This. When someone here posted about a sale on a Masterbuilt smoker at TSC, I called them up and paid over the phone to be picked up down the road. Too late for you Cliff but maybe call another store to see if they have it on sale and hopefully can ship to your local store.

was it in the latest flyer ? that would be a bone worth fighting over if it was. unless they have super fine print
