  1. I'll be heading up to Nip for the weekend, enjoying the company of GOOD friends! I have already cleaned up my white bucket, loaded it to the brim with large and small marshmellows and am lookin forward to hookin/catchin anything willing to dine on my offerings! HH PS... i hope the bucket snares them in the mouth!
  2. Nice Eye brother! If I was heading that way this weekend, I'd be keeping a very close eye on water temperature and find areas where warmer water from shallow bays enters into any main bay areas. Also, consider any wind blown areas that may stack warmer water, with deep water access near by. HH
  3. Interesting question and one that I asked my self this year when I went for Whities on the ice, for the first time. I was comparing the Williams' we were using, to the size of the Whities mouth and honestly, there is no way those spoons would come close to fitting into their mouth! (WIlliams half and half hammered with side wash hooks) From the way they were hooked, it appeared to me anyway, that they had taken a swipe at the baits, missed and were hooked near /around the mouth. Now this obviously this doesn't make a "potential" wrong a right, but from what I noticed, virtually EVERYONE was using the same bait. Does this mean the most of the folks out there jiggin, including myself, were keeping illegal fish! Doh... good question Brian! HH
  4. johnny, we'll just keep an eye out for the only dude on the lake not wearing a shirt... that should help us narrow down the crowd! HH
  5. Gerritt... bring lots of yer batter bud! I hope/expect we are going to need it! HH
  6. Well, since Irishfield is gone to the lake, I guess I'll play the role of Wayne here... let me know how I do! "I always wanted a stuffed beaver but they have the right to live as well." Don't we all dude, don't we all! HH
  7. Good report Beats! Too bad about not catchin any Pickereyes, but ya got out... BTW .... I know that spot! LOL Nest time, try a little closer to the Delaware bridge, in some of the backwater eddys. I've heard from some buddys that the netting going on in the river has really killed the run... HH
  8. Make sure to velcro your camera to yer chest and have a great time bud! Oh, and congratulate Leah for me, for catching the biggest fish of the summer... off the dock! HH
  9. Great report guys! I'm glad you mentioned that hand cleaner Will, cause, without it, you would have a hard time gettin in my front door with that stank all over you! LOL Good job, nice healthy lookin fish... now get rid of the carp gear, get yerself a 5ft light rod, 6 pound test and then, show us how to handle those piggies! HH
  10. Many good points there John F... as usual! My Dad's tool of choice, was an old used fan belt he had hanging in the basement. It seemed to be able to solve a lot of his problems pretty quickly ! HH
  11. Clampit... I have to agree with Rick, they can fire you at any time for any reason, but the Ministry of Labour will almost certainly favour the employee should it go that far and it will ... definately should the employee know his rights. If ya really want to see an Incorporation squirm... threaten them with the Ministry of Labour... it would be cheaper in the long run just to pay the employee to stay home! Please don't ask how I know this! HH
  12. "I was going to suggest bear repellant, but now I see one of them had a gun. Where are the parents of these kids????" My guess Rick is that they are out buy Kevlar vests! HH
  13. Now, I moved away from London back in the late 80's... but if I recall correctly, that area of town, Kipps Lane, has a long standing reputation as being one of the rougher parts of town... just so ya know! Certainly in no way makes it right... I just can't imagine what went through that fathers head, in respect to his child and the crap there were going through... ignorant bastages! HH
  14. My partner here at work has a cottage in the Kawartha's and has been broken into 3 times in the last 5 years! OPP state quite openly that it's "just maw and paw Kettle out doing there grocery shopping" get a security system... which they did. Now, when they get broken into, they find out right away, versus finding out when they arrive at their cottage for the weekend. The thieves stole all of their food, including what was in the freezer as well as some electronics... actually, anthing they could carry. A thief is the lowest form in my opinion. Garry... I have been talking to my wife for years about the exact same thing... but she's a city girl and I have my hands full with that one! HH
  15. Freshwaterfanatic... my wife is a Principle in the Toronto board and quite frankly, I can't/won't post here what I've learned about what goes on in these schools... the thread would be locked up faster that Amy Winehouse! HH
  16. Beans... that very sound advice, which I suggest everyone take to heart, unless of course your hoping to enjoy "hot tongue and cold shoulder" for dinner on Sunday night! HH
  17. Here's a link to the London Free Press and the accompanying story... man, what the world coming to anyway!? http://lfpress.ca/newsstand/News/Local/200...503591-sun.html HH
  18. Had a similar problem with an x cat, kept peeing right inside the front door of our house! Anyone who came into our home, could smell it! It began seeping into the hard wood floor... we did everything short of chocking the stupid thig to get it to stop... no chance! We asked the vet what we could use to get rid of the smell as all of the house hold cleaners we tried did nothing but make it worse! He recommended some stuff, I can't come close to recalling the name of the product, but it was not a simple wipe it up with this stuff and it'll be gone sort of thing. It required multiple applications and we were to follow the directions precisely... it kinda worked, well, it work best out of all the things we tried! The vet told us that the bacteria in the urine was what caused the smell and that it was virtually impossible to completely eliminate it... you could see crystals forming where the cat went! The cat is now wondering what happened to it's other 8 lives , the house has been sold and I'm done with those felines! Good luck... you might want to consider a burlap bag and a quick tour of your local piers! HH
  19. Maurice did not play one minute of ice time for the Leafs! For the proper heads to roll, they must look way above ice level, to the undisciplined over baring, unknowledgeable front office! Until that happens, the names will change, but the results will not. 22% return on investment is not a result any smart business leader would mess with... I fear that we are simply looking at the beginning of yet another failed regime... I wish Maurice the best for his future... just watch how well his team does, when he lands somewhere else! HH
  20. Inquiring minds need to know... were any cameras hurt in the making of this fine scenery report? Bah ha! HH
  21. ... best news I've heard today! Thanks for keeping us in the know! HH
  22. And don't forget that vessels under power must give way to vessels that are not! Ie sailboats! HH
  23. Funny you mention that Wayne... he was actually looking for a government office! LoL! HH
  24. So, I was standing in front of my office building, downtown Toronto, when a guys walks up to me asking for directions. For those of you who work down here, you know that this sort of thing happens an awful lot! I always do my best to help the poor soul out, if I can, but this one takes the cake! Dude say to me, not a word of a lie... "excuse me, but can you tell me how to get here" as he's pointing to a document he's carrying, with an address printed at the top.... THUNDER BAY! I almost swallowed my smoke! I said, yah, I can get ya to Thunder Bay... do you have two days to drive there!? Obviously he was in the wrong place, ya think!, but I just had to share this... yet another first for me in the big smoke! HH
  25. I'm still in the middle of wrapping up my Dad's estate, so maybe I can help a bit. If you mom is listed specifically in the will, then she has the rights you need... if not, than his brother can have the power in that situation. However, as common law, your Mom has a strong legal standing for assets within the estate... as a matter of fact, should there be enough assets... your Mom has a valid claim for up to the first $250K of the estate and up to 50% of any money available beyond the initial $250K. Who has been listed as the executor of the will? If it's his brother, than you Mom should go see a lawyer and have him bill the estate for his time... it's legal. As others have mentioned, if you can reason with the brother, than in the short, medium and long run, that's the best solution. Don't forget to pursue any insurance, investments, bank accounts, pension etc... to get a true evaluation of the estate. HH
