I'd like to start a poll as to whether we should have

IMHO most of the steel headers don't deserve a separate section... unless it was chalk full of bargain bins selling new personalities! HH PS... now before you go nuts on me... I did say "most"! -
Fished for them many times in the Thames river, mainly near the Spring Bank Dam... we found them very difficult to hook, but here's what worked for us as we gained experience. They tend to cruise in the top 2 ft of water, so we would use a treble hook, wrap as many minnows around the treble as it would hold and hang it about 4-6 inches below a float. It's fun watchin your float get towed all around... after a period of time, set the hook. As mentioned above, they are difficult to hook, but they also were lousy fighters! Once you get the beak up and out of the water, they simply water ski in! We found it a fine way to kill a nice summer day! HH PS.. the alligator gar in the south was used by natives for their scales... they became arrow heads... also, if memory serves, the flesh is also poisonous!

It's all just "innuendo" or "outyerendo" but I just can't be sure! HH

Sorry to break it to you Bill, but someone cut off the butt section on that rod! I have no idea how you could possibly use a rod with no butt section! How the heck do you get it to stay in the rod holder?! Looks very pretty Bill, yah, bring some up to Bernie's and we'll catch spotted eyes with those suckers! (or maybe just some suckers!LOL) HH

There was a fairly large article in Saturday's Toronto Star regarding the Leslie Spit and efforts to revitalize the area. Just and FYI! HH -

Mike, I've recently gone through the "pain" your going through, with two young ones and the assorted sundry items that are required just to leave the house! This is a short term situation since as they get older, they will require less and less items. We found that we only brought with us, things that we could not buy, upon arriving at our destination, helped a great deal. Many items are also available in "travel" mode, but space was at a premium during that time. Although you may not want to hear it... I 2nd the minivan comment as it is a solution that has long term pluses, assuming your budget can handle it! Oh yah... and a boat on a trailer can carry a lot of stuff! HH

Another Fishing Outing turned Nature Watching NF

Those beavers and their habitat were created and funded and maintained by the local conservation authority. Lew, the tree's have been wrapped up like that for at least 2-3 years. I spoke with a rep of the authority and they are building new habitat for the beavers, including plans for a bass pond. I haven't been down there for close to a year, but I'm assuming things are moving along at a typical government pace. As your walking along the Spit, I believe, just past the bridge, on your left hand side, follow the path and you'll see the beginnings of the new habitat they are building. Pretty cool to find all that, within a couple of miles and definately within site of the country's largest city. If more folks here in T.O. actually knew about it, it might help to get some folks more in tune with nature as opposed to the Mall! HH -
I keep coming back to the old 80/20 rule... 80% of my business comes from 20% of my customers... if this customer fits this description, I'd be going out of my way to insure that I do everything I can to keep that relationship mutually beneficial. HH

"I especially like using it from about 5-10 feet above the water" Those fish had better be jumpin pretty high up to get at that "top water" bait! HH

You may want to consider George Brown courses. I believe that you can find evening courses as well. Lots to chose from, your location may be a determining factor. As this will be I'm assuming information for your personal use, versus a career situation, publicly funded course may suit you better than "private firms". HH

I joined this board I think about 3 or 4 years ago. I have had the pleasure of helping some folks here with their job interview questions, their resume, job searches and what not... but I still feel to this day that I get way more back from the good folks here, then I can possibly ever pay back. I just wanted to say thanks to all who made the effort to help me out on my plumbing problem, but also to everyone whether we've connect in person, through PM's or what ever, for making this such a great place to spend time. I hope I can give back more than I get, but I somehow doubt it! Guaranteed, I'll try! Thanks! HH Ps... I know I'm gonna hear about this thread, but go ahead and take yer shots... WAYNE!LOL

This is an oldy, but a goody! A Newfie makes his first ever trip to the mainland. While there, he decides to take a walk about through a grocery store to see what wonderful things, these mainlanders can buy! As he walks past the meat section, he notices these things called sausages. Seems many people are buying these things, so he decides to buy some too and bring them back to the rock. Upon arriving home, he gives the sausages to his wife and says. "honey, these are all the rage on the mainland, I'm going fishin and when I get back, I'll have those sausages for my supper." So off he goes fishin and when he gets home he calls to his wife, "honey, I'll have those sausages now". So he sits down at the dinner table and his wife brings in his plate and he looks at the prepared sausages and can only see a puddle of grease and some dried up crispy skin. "honey, what the heck happened to my sausages?" Wife, "well, once you cut the head and the tail off and gut 'em, there aint a whole lot left" HH
