  1. Thanks for that... I've been getting some mileage out of that one here at work. HH
  2. Oh my! One the down side, I think he is going to be late for his next appointment... on the bright side, just think about how much money he saved by not having to fill up! HH
  3. I have only one personal concern regarding this situation... a very dear friend of mine, a friend I've been fortunate enough to have for the better part of 43 years is employed by the group as their drum tech and essentially percussionist as well as on stage manager. He has worked very hard and traveled many miles to secure stable employment in his industry of choice (music) and this situation could put his livelihood in jeopardy. I am not a fan of the band or their music, but I feel for my friend and hope that this matter is cleared up quickly and his family can continue to enjoy a stable and profitable income. HH
  4. Lop it off, God gave you 9 more! Man, maybe you should try putting it in a Catfish's mouth, take yer mind off of it! HH
  5. Ok... two more and still holding at number 8! HH
  6. As Gerritt is on vacation this week, I'll play the part of G! "Listen to her!"... grown men whining about a little catfish prick! I'm stunned and somewhat disappointed... bunk of girly men! HH
  7. Hey guys, good luck and I hope you have great weather, I know, not a requirement, but would be nice! I'm booked in for the week of August 9th with my family, thanks in large part to both of your suggestions...thanks again for that! Lookin forward to your reports back! Can either of you provide me with some more info on "back lakes"?! Thanks, HH
  8. Funny you say that Timmies doesn't serve food between 11:00pm and 6:00am as this last weekend was my first experience, not being able to buy donuts that early at a Timmies. The first place I went, which is very near my home, there were two people in front of me at 4:45 am ordering (and quite obviously being served) sandwiches! The dude in front of me had obviously been "at 'er" all night as he had a slight wobble and slur to his speech. I listened for a moment as he took possesion of his sandwich, pay for it, only to then ask why he wasn't getting the sandwich at the combo price. The lady behind the counter turn a very pale colour, her eyes rolled back in her head and she started rocking back and forth mumbling "combo price, combo price"! I then decided to hit the Timmies down the street. In this location, there were three people in front of me, all ordering sandwiches! Based on their wobble and slurring, I would assume they were at the same after hours club, the dude in the 1st Timmies was at! They also, upon further review had NO DONUTS! A little more irritated by this point, I figured, I'll hit the shop near FishnSleds house and bingo, they have donuts. I relayed my earlier experience to the lady there and she said that she was not surprised and "they are always the first store to put the donuts out!" So, I now had vittles for the morning, but the funny thing was, I dropped my extra large thermos on the counter and asked it be filled "double double". The conversation went something like this- me- yah, could i have that filled, double double please? clerk - uhmmm, how do I do that? me - well it's a thermos and you take the top off, fill it with coffee, add sugar and cream and I'll be on my way! clerk - how do I do that? me - I'll show you - I take the top off, remove the inner cap and point to the side of the thermos - ,me - put this much coffee in it, add the sugar. clerk - how do I get the sugar in there? me - well, you could put the sugar in a cup and then pour it in the thermos! clerk - oh, that may work... with a slight smile! me - now just add the cream clerk - how do I do that? me - well you could put the cream in the same cup you just used for the sugar! clerk - good Idea! (now had there been anyone else in that TImmies while this was going on, especially if they were behind me, I would have lost me mind! Given that my various trips to TImmies had already put me behind - no I wasn't late, but I was not my usual 15 minutes early either!!!!) Now for the fun part... she asked me how much she should be charging me for the thermos! Without blinking, I said, oh, I thought you get a free thermos of coffee with every dozen donuts! (tongue firmly planted in cheek) Well, in the end, she had the baker, the cleaner and another employee, all standing around the registar, trying to figure out what to charge me! Lesson learned.... try Coffee Time next!LOL HH
  9. Added two more votes and Joey is now at number 9! Come on folks, it takes 10 seconds and really, who would deserve it more?! HH
  10. Ok, I know I'm not making any kind of positive contribution to this thread, but I gotta say that I found myself laughing out loud quite a few times last night, re-thinking Raf's post in this thread... man, I'm still killing myself here! Thanks again Raf! HH
  11. Don't eat the floating Carp! HH
  12. "i'm just waiting for a recall on 'green giant' and other corn products." Now that struck me as being extremely funny! Thanks Raf! Sorry Brian, no idea what's killin the carp, just couldn't stop laughing! HH
  13. I have three off the top of my head: 1. put you cooler in your chest freezer, the day and night before you load it up for you weekend. Your ice will last a lot longer as it will not be melted, trying to cool off your cooler! 2. When fishing in cold weather, using your float suit, if you are coming ashore for any length of time, take the suit off and turn it inside out to dry... the perspiration build up while your wearing it, will make you cold quickly once you go back out into the elements. 3. Again a cold weather tip... when done fishing for the day, take the liner out of your boots to dry off the in-soles... or you will be in for cold feet the next day! Good thread and I'm lookin forward others tips as well! HH
  14. I've only had time to listen to the first on so far, but it seems to my ear anyway, to have a real Goo Goo Dolls influence in the vocal stylings and phrasing. I'm sure you know that that is a compliment, the Dolls have had a very successful career.I hope to get some time to listen to the others soon, but a definite congrats to you and the band for such a professional sounding EP! HH
  15. Hey Will! I always have a good time fishing with you! I seriously could not believe that I had to hit three Timmies to find one that had any donuts! As FnS is good enough to take me out on his boat, the least I can do is bring some vittells! Glad it wasn't an overly difficult fix, but it sure was an eye opener to see that water creeping up the boat floor... I believe that the conversation went something like this... me - ahh, Will there seems to be water coming up through the floor Will - uhmm... that's not a good thing.... hmmm, you know what that means Joe? We're sinking... well I didn't panic as we were on the Bog and really, could have probably walked back to shore and only got my lower half wet!LOL Always have a good time fishin with FnS and if you ever get a chance to get out with him, DO IT! He has some very good skills, always catches fish and is a dam good guy to shoot the dung with! Thanks again Will and yah, you know we will do it again! HH
  16. Number 11 with a bullet! HH
  17. WTG Jim and crew! The smiles say it all! Thanks, HH
  18. Sounds good brother! A little Goo Goo Dolls influence perhaps? HH
  19. Well, I'm in... thanks Gerritt! HH
  20. I'm with TG on this one... and in my business, we are deemed by many in our industry as the "canaries in a coal mine" when it comes to economic slow down... we tend to feel it first. I can say that I'm as busy now as I was at any time in the last 5 years... hey, maybe I got lucky and picked a "recession proof" business vertical. HH
  21. You could call Cranberry Resort in Collingwood and have them remove you from their list... I get those calls as well as my wife and I played a round of golf there 10 years ago!!!!! Hope that helps! HH
  22. Ant Be Gone comes in a tube that looks like Dristan Mist... just squeeze some in the area they are thick, they will lick the stuff up and take it back to the nest... has not failed me yet! Available at yer finer CTC stores. HH
  23. Apparently Rogers "has no plans at this time" to charge their customers for in coming text messages... Bell on the other hand, as well as Telus... claim that their trying to "recoup" infrastructure costs" as the number of text messages has far exceeded their current capabilities and expectations. So, in a nut shell, they are asking their customers to pay for their poor planning skills! HH
  24. I'm pretty sure you can get an off the shelf cover for it, by checking out some of the boutique type BBQ shops. They may not be customized to your Q, but they will have sizes that will properly cover the Q. Look for shops in your area that carry Vermont Castings or Napoleon BBQ's and you should be able to find one. HH
