  2. I went out on Sunday to Simcoe with some friends for perch. Perch were just everywhere They were sketchy at times. Coming up for a sniff, just laying there for 20 mins, but after a while they all started biting. I ended the day with 5 nice jumbos, kept 1 that I thought was bigger(batter additive was the influence) but many were pulled out. Guy in the hut next to me was pulling pike out(no jumbos for him though .) I didn't see a Herring, thank God. I forgot most of my lures at home accidentally. It worked out though, they didnt take my girlfriends minnows on a swedish pimple but they were attacking reg jig heads(with minnows obviously) and minnows on bait hooks. Some kept trying to eat my weights lol. Im done with perch though. Next trip is going to be either lakers/whitefish or walleye. PS. How can I post pics? I tried through imgur but the site wont allow me to use it. What else can I use?
  3. Dont bother doing anything. He has 48 hrs to go through insurance. Once that time has passed, out of sight out of mind
  4. Steel bunny, You might as well have walked into an army base. What happens when fisherMEN see you on the water pullin fish? lol... Do they give you all of their secret spots?? I've always wanted to try for steelies but never knew any spots. I just found a spot veeerrryyy close to my area in the west end of the city. Gonna try to hammer some come season
  5. We threw the block back in . Dont want to be responsible for a snowmobile accident or someone falling in. Just because I'm pretty new to the community doesnt mean I'm new to life lol
  6. I just got the PiranhaMax 175PT. Used it last Sunday for the first time and works fine.... Drilll a hole, drop it in and its done. Its my first finder and its easy to use, easy to read. Dont need an ice adapter(I think... I hope lol) I never used anything else so I cant compare it to the X-4
  7. Most definitely. By landmarks, GPS, and a piece of wood
  8. The finder said 26 ft. I got into the batter additive a little early on so upsizing didnt click in until the last 2 hours, thats when we got the bigger ones on a bigger lure. We tried that too. Had a spreader with minnows 5-7ft from the surface. Brought a lot of them up but the only biters were the little ones and herring stealing the bait. Im trying to upload pics but wont allow imgur. Any suggestions on how to upload?
  9. Me and a few friends went out for the first time yesterday to go for some perch off Snake Island. There was a lot of slush and water, my right foot got wet first thing in the morning. We checked the depth, chainsawed a sexy block, threw up the tent n dropped a line. First 5 mins there was not a single fish in sight. Then it started.... We couldnt stop pulling perch out. Most of them got thrown back in(keep in mind well over 100 made it out the water.) For about 5-6 hours it was constant action. Seen quite a few down there with some serious shoulders. Couldnt get all the big guys to bite since they were sketchy and the smaller ones were contantly going for the offerings, but we did pull nice ones out(size of and bigger then a "fish juice" bottle.) The herring showed up. All they did was harass our ammo.. Me and another guy caught 1 each accidentally(Keep your waders on, we tossed em back in.) Almost wish we could catch em, they have attitude. Either way, left with about 15 8''+ perch. Was a good time
  10. I've done Guelph once, was quite an irritating day. I've worked through mountsberg on a canoe quite a few times. If you can find the right spots at the right times of the day, you can pull sexy pike and good bass... May not be the biggest you'll ever pull, but my pb there is a 28" pike and a 3.5 lb largemouth. Never done kelso. Just by the looks of it, it looks like someone tried turning a thrown out mattress into a couch.
  11. I didnt believe it either. I doubted if I really seen it,b ut the way my lure was mangled, I have no choice but to believe. I almost didnt want to tell that story and be "that guy" lol. Burnt Island isnt supposed to have brooks either but... I got one. I've been reading abour Bonnechere. Seems like the fishing out there is better the BP. I'm going to give it a shot
  12. For the fourth year in a row I'm heading out to Algonquin for some portages. The only lake I've fished was Burnt Island Lake last year (caught some smallies, perch and one single brookie. Also had a musky crash my buzzbait... Destroyed it completely) For the July trip I plan on going to Tom Thomson Lake and in August - Big Porcupine. I've been to both lakes but never fished them. I remember some sexy spots on the way to these lakes but I havent scoped out the lake themselves. If anyone here has fished them before, I'm accepting pointers. Pretty sure I know what Im bringing with me, but any suggestions would be lovely also. I get skunked 45 mins from home, not trying to get skunked all the way out there. I will drown my sorrows in room temperature brews. Thanks Brohams
  13. Bare Foot knows what I'm talking about. I'm not scared to lose bait I've lost already and will most likely lose lots more. Instead of getting into it more, I'm going to trust your experience with them. I got 2.75 inch tubes. Most wide gaps are way too big for them and someone suggested them. Havent tried closing the gap since I'm not sure what its going to do to the lock. But, might as well give it a shot.
  14. Towards the end of bass season, I started messing with tubes and trying out different methods of fishing them. As I was going through my box today i found a pack Eagle Claw Grigsby HP hooks. Totally forgot I had them, didnt even use them. Upon closer inspection of the hooks, I noticed that the tie loop doesnt fully close. Theres a lock wire on the loop that digs into the tube but i can slip it right out of the loop. Does anyone know if that wire is strong enough that if I have a fish on, it will not break or slip off?
  15. you guys have no idea how much of this goes on. I live in a rougher part of Toronto and I grew seeing stuff like this and have also experienced it
