  1. Never ceases to amaze me. Thank you folks,
  2. You are correct and that is the water that catches everyone's, but when coming back from Guelph on Saturday I seen a body of water across the 401 from the park. I know of one or two other well hidden holes in that area. I have a strong hunch about this one, but would love to know if anyone else has ventured back there. With the price of gas......may not need to finish,
  3. On the weekend I barely noticed some water across from what I think is either Forest Estates or a place we called Lockheart as kids. I may have been there as a kid I may have not been, it's been that long. Is anyone familiar with that water? Something tells me there is nothing or if it is fish able it is a treasure chest filled with bass and maybe pike. Directions to it would be appreciated also,
  4. Carma has a lovely way of working, I would like to know what comes the author's direction in the near future.
  5. I just had a positive brain wave and checked to see if there was a chart on line. He measures 30', the two charts I viewed said he should weigh 7.5 lbs. I know he may not be the fattest but I am happy knowing he weighs between 5 and 7 pounds. I honestly thought he weighed more but this is a good gauge just for the sake of knowing.
  6. This is my first pike ever, I have never fished for them but this guy bit on a top water Rapala when I was fishing for bass today. The fight was amazing, it was almost getting to the point where I was going to start yelling and ask a stranger to run to my van and grab the net I forgot and help me land him. I have 8 lbs line on and was getting worried it was going to snap. This fish made my day ten times over!!! Any guesses on the weight? Thank you for looking!!!
  7. This is my biggest fear Irish, I have never owned a canoe, I helped people load them before but that usually consisted of trying to look like I knew what I was doing as opposed to learning how to......properly Thank you all,
  8. Hello friends, I am driving a 04 Dodge Caravan. I just have the standard roof racks on, I don't have a trailer hitch and there is no place to tie ropes to hold a canoe on the back end. I am wondering if anyone knows a way to safely secure a canoe just using those racks or perhaps recommend a inexpensive system that will allow me to throw a canoe on top that is also safe. Thank you,
  9. Thank you for all the suggestions, I think I am going to go with Ron's suggestion for now and try Emily. I can't find the page I was on last night but there was about 8 sites left. Thnx again,
  10. Hello all, I am hoping to get some recommendations to take the kids camping next week. We are looking for: Shade, peace and quite awesome swimming/nice sandy beach, at worst, easy shore fishing for the kids at best decent bass fishing for all of us. I would like to keep the drive under 4 hours any direction from Hamilton. Thank you,
  11. If you have some black walnuts from last fall you could always try this.....................
  12. Roy if you can show me any post I asked about transporting fish caught from a private fishery then I do apologize. I'm not going through all of my posts but I believe I did ask if my girlfriend needs a license to fish in a private fishery, as that was always her excuse not to fish with me........in a playful manor. Please take the time to correct me if I am incorrect though. And yuppers, I would have called the Ministry at that time for clarification if they were open at 11:19 P.M. Beagle Dad, your experience is pretty much what I had in mind when my girl and I where having the "what if" conversation. Thank you for sharing. I guess everyone's comprehension, perception, and experiences are different,
  13. My girlfriend and I engaged in a very confusing conversation after she asked me to pick up my fishing license off the coffee table and suggested I put it in my tackle box. One point led to another, Hence the question I posted on here. I'm not so sure I am any less confused. Hats off to the Ministry for all the work they do,
  14. I am a catch and release guy so my own question doesn't apply to me I am just asking for the sake of knowing, although I do understand the assumptions that some people may get from the question. Here it goes: If someone fishes in a 100% private body of water; because it is private water the fisherman doesn't take his license with him. (I know the easy answer is always have your license on you but this really is a hypothetical question) He catches fish that are in season and privately owned, keeps them. He gets pulled over by law enforcement miles away from the privately owned fishery. He has no license to fish but fish is his vehicle. My question, would he automatically be found guilty for fishing without a license? It seems to me the fisherman couldn't prove where he caught the fish and the Ministry could not prove they are Crown fish. Ministry wins by default?,
  15. The members here never cease to amaze me, Thank you everyone for all of the replies and great suggestions. I really wish I could expand on the incredible story of this family but I believe I would be getting close to breaching confidentiality. Ultimately what my goal is to find a caregiver for a day to look after his boys and try to take him on a fishing trip of his life. This man is literally at his boys side 24/7 365 days a year with the phone at his side and 911 on speed dial. If I can not find a caregiver for the day we will have to take his kids and fish from shore somewhere close to medical assistance if needed. The kids will not be fishing in any capacity at all, the very best we could do is to make sure they are comfortable and happy enjoying the fresh air. I feel finding a caregiver may end up unsuccessful so I thought I better begin planning early. I know how much this means to me and I seen the tears in this man's eyes when I told him I want to treat him to a good day out fishing, so I can only imagine how much a simple thing I take for granted means to him :-) Thank you once again,
