  1. Sad to see that old Don washed his airplane today... hope he has some good help to get it out tomorrow even if it's a tinny tied under each wing.

Just a good thing Don knows how to swim and that he could get a door open!

  2. Bernie said they were browsing Powassan last week.... Unless they have a warrant..... they ain't coming in!
  3. Nothing like revisiting a 2 year old thread after the OP already bought himself a boat.... ... as for trolling with an electric Bill.. nothing hilarious about it, I do it regularily with my 2150 Baron ON CALM DAYS on Temagami. I troll for Lakers, with two 12lb balls at 80 to 100 feet @ 1.7 mph for well over 6 hours at a time and love the silence and the steering from a key fob on my Motorguide with 70" shaft! Now the other 90% of the time... yes the kicker is running good back there!
  4. She can hack out a pretty mean Happy Birthday so far Roger!
  5. First script Cliff or a repeat.. the pill shape never changes, unless they screw up of course! Terry's got your link...
  6. Even talks the same dialect Joey!
  7. Probably my last opportunity to get out on snow... was cold enough this morning to get across the mud (frozen) from hangar to runway that still has 20" of hard packed snow on it. Probably a month+ before I get out again and it will be on floats (I hope!), but who knows the weather man's been wrong MANY times before! lol ..oh and M or S ...start planning to fish the Sound !
  8. But does it cut grass...
  9. Let me give that some thought for a minute.... If 6 mile and the pool are still this tight.. not a hope in hell.
  10. When she starts to smoke.. and you can't unplug it, I hope the cutters are close by!
  11. I've scouted it out as well Gord... and I think University and Gerrard would be a better corner for us! The "young" lady already has the parking lot pay spot on Murray taken! It ain't perfect, but it works.
  12. The best deal this week is the electric impact gun 54-1216-4 for only $40 vs $140 and the 38pc impact socket set 58-9190-6 to go with it for only $50 vs $190. I was skeptical the last time these went for sale, but I haven't picked up my air impact gun since buying the electric. This electric is more powerful than my Campbell air one..
  13. Man..someone is jonesin for open water...
  14. I asked Ford if it was missing a seal Lew and they told me there isn't supposed to be one there.... maybe it's only because I tow an enclosed trailer which causes a high pressure area behind the truck.
  15. "Too small a job".. someone's head's getting too large! Jeff Brain's just South of Orillia... You exit on the 14th Line, he's on the West side of 11 up the side road off the 14th. 705-327-7889
  16. John the most important thing on an F150, I've found, is to buy some weather stripping before putting anything of value in the box. The tailgate does not seal.. and the box will fill full of dust.. or snow! You need to weather strip across the bottom of the box where the tail gate swings "shut" against. All I do is put a ratchet strap across the back two cargo hooks.. and it retains everything I ever put back there (other than when I totally fill the box of course).
  17. Dara, Dan... guess it depends how nice the camp is! My 960 square feet is risk assessed to cost over 300k to replace if it burns down and it ain't no palace. Remote debris and new material hauling costs... workers in / out by boat etc. Not paying insurance is a great way to save money, if you never need it. $2200/yr goes into 300k, or even 100k, for more years than most of us will be alive for. Get someone to take the WETT course... "inspect and certify" and shove that paperwork up their . Even tagged and inspected wood stoves have chimney fires, so if the place burns down there'd be no recourse to the "certifier"!
  18. Then supply the guys with a different gun that works or change their ammo.... now back to the subject of the OP.... or not.
  19. Not much water moving in the Severn system that flows "West". Here's a shot of the Severn Locks this morning... it's usually open well beyond what it is towards the Green Islands, in the middle of most past winters let alone April!
  20. It'll be a bit before you're standing in the mouth of the Notty lads.... ...as of 11am !
  21. Metrology is how you measure the strength.. Metallurgy is how you make the bolt. Thought about that for a bit before I hit post! lol
  22. Anyone that thinks a grade 8 bolt is a better application than a grade 5 bolt might want to go back to metrology or strength of materials class! The 5 will bend before failure and give you a warning sign (if you're paying attention and doing maintenance)... the 8 will just snap.
  23. To control the weather... and UV protection. A perfectly sunny day will go from just that to totally overcast in 30 to 45 minutes. I guess being a pilot I look up more than most here.... Oh and I've been called on the picture... ... That shot very well could be just a ballast test on a new aircraft model, or it could be spray tanks based on the hazmat box on the bulkhead wall, I'll let you decide. Trust me it's going on lads. Our own CANFOR has spread more tinfoil from Trenton to Kenora than you'd want to know and cloud spraying has been going on since the 60's trying to make it rain. The latest and greatest in large cargo tankers for the past decade + making cloud cover to block the UV... all part of the $ game.
