  1. Ice hasn't even pulled away from shore or the boat ramp at Temagami Marine as of today. My neighbour was sledding down the lake as of last night..... that said, it will be gone by the 17th. Probably a few bergs floating around.. but it will be gone.
  2. I had the Glastron 17' Fish n ski... 2 seasons before I dumped that as it was a PITA to fish out of. As noted above.. buy a console fishing boat and just ski behind it.
  3. The channel at the Delawana was opening way back the last time I went flying.. so yah it could very well be open all through there in the current from the Squash..
  4. Midland Harbour was still full of ice yesterday.. even after the icebreaker left.
  5. Great outing Paul... the fish are a wonderful bonus!
  6. Diamond and Diamond adds bug me to no end as well... ... 80K zone.. dark and rainy, it's a crap shoot and yes I'm sure the husband help move the situation along for her that night... but hard to lay blame. That said... 60K zone on Friday night.. light rain and Leah almost tagged a guy on a bike right in front of Sargents cement factory on 93, returning from Toronto after dropping Jen off. Guy had no lights or reflectors, riding down the center of the lane... wearing camouflage... and when she went to swerve around him there was a guy walking in the other direction on the opposite side in dark clothes. She could have EASILY got them both. Was still shaking when she got home..
  7. Love that matching truck!! ..doesn't help when Citys/Townships build ramps on too shallow an angle either!
  8. And apparently with Cabelas .. any visible tattoos is an immediate NO thank you.. if I can believe facebook.
  9. Ok Brian.. just let me know when you're coming up to be sure I'm here.. ...and you've got that right Pete! lol
  10. Or you could bring it to me Brian and Leah can drop it in May when we head for the lake. Bernie would probably rather see her... just sayin...
  11. Here's the only "open water" in front of my dock, as of yesterday! What was our ice road is now a long swimming pool.. allowing folks to see how their sleds run on open water, just so they know if they ever get into trouble. Great opportunity ...with a built in 25" ice security blanket underneath!!
  12. They sure do.. .. and while I read this thread I printed out Zone's 11, 13/14, 15 and 16.. the only zones I'm likely to fish this season.
  13. Ice breaker finally made it to Midland Harbour... only took them 2 weeks !! lol
  14. Yep... I've got 19 years on my Steel Tile roof (simulated clay tile) come October and other than needing to get up and tighten a few screws up this summer I'd never do shingles again (especially on a 12/12 pitch.. why I did steel in the first place!). It's gonna outlive me... even if I make it to 90!
  15. A good camera man would have kept shooting.. just saying!!! Great day out for the brothers... well other than one trying to get hypothermia!
  16. Indeed... we even have a member here circulating the petition..
  17. I know where he lost his lock as well.... nice shot!
  18. If you've ever wondered why the ground floor rooms at the Holiday Inn always smell a little musty... Not good... should be about a foot shy of going over the street and into the houses on the South shore.
  19. Someone will appreciate you breaking the trail Dave!! The prop, that's another thing. How much does that make them perchies per pound...
  20. That stone fence reminds me of just about every settler cleared field in Ontario Terrance! lol... looks a lot like Gramma's "yard" in the Highlands! As for my parents and sister, yes they're in Hillcrest in Smiths Falls Now ..what my Mother was thinking when she had the stone inscribed, we still laugh about that one, especially now that I know the story behind it all these years later. (only person she ever told was my wife apparently)
  21. I'll be happy anywhere in between these two, as I have lots left to live for but not much more to prove. Dad died on April 18th.. just after his 59th birthday.. Mom just after her 83rd. I already beat my sister, that's name is on the back of this stone... she was 49.
  22. I thought I knew what pain was... then I stuck a TIG filler rod up my nostril and tried to find my brain. Anyone got a spare pint of blood..... Stop laughing misfish..

Don't think I'd be drinking while welding aircraft motor mounts...

  23. I know what Dax is pointing too.. and I guess most missed that there was no slur in the first reply... he was referring to Bill's Imperal Angler status, nothing else... and then it went to hell in a handbasket...
  24. Generally they will tighten up into place and retain that shape... allowing you to remove the bolts and reinstall them. There are different types.. some are all metal.. some are heavy rubber. The ones I use in aircraft, when I have no choice, are called rivnuts and you put them in place with a rivet gun style puller. Then you have a captive nut after that. The link I grabbed for Well Nuts above are Neoprene.. so they may just straighten back out once loosened like the drain plug in your boat. Loosen.. push the bolt down and lift up by the well nut collar.
  25. Yes.. you need to know the thickess as they have a head on them that stops them from falling thru. The "nut" end has to make it beyond the material thickness so when you tighten it up it expands to form a locking head below the material you're bolting to. So you need to know the overall material thickness and then pick a Well Nut of the appropriate "Grip Range". They expand below the hole.. not in it... for retention, although in some applications you can use them in a blind hole. This use wouldn't be a good time to try that...
