  1. I'd fish with him Gord!
  2. I guess that's why my 250 Bravo disappeared from the horse farm in Orr Lake... swapped Leah's old man my Bravo for his Skidoo 500, so that his step daughter could make trails for horse riding. Asked him where it was since she's not there anymore.. and he told me it disappeared. Now I know why if they're getting that kinda money for them. Love it.. get stuck.. lift it up with one arm and throw it sideways...
  3. Scares me considerably when a non fisherperson wants to stop those that do..... is how Zone 11 came up with a one month laker season. Only Lake Temagami had this Feb 15th to March 15th Laker season in the entire area and it was only brought upon from pressure from a cottage association that didn't want people fishing in front of their cottages when they weren't around to guard them. Said association had the ear of an MNR employee that happened to have a brother in the association and they changed the regulations without any scientific validation. When they combined a few zones into the new Zone 11 they made all the natural population lakes this same 1 month season, again without any science to back it up.
  4. A whole new meaning to Water Street there Raf !
  5. Guess my touring 500 would still be there!! LOL.. thanks for sharing the story Jason!
  6. At least use the canal as a reservoir to fill during the day.. and drain when it's cooler at night..
  7. Guess we all need to back off on the pedals a bit... I did 800 km to the valley and back on Saturday and averaged 10.2l/100km with my 5.0 x F150. Cruise was set at 102.. yah in an 80.. don't worry I've had 52 years experience (36 driving.. 16 watching my dad do it) playing cat and mouse on hwy 7. My usual average is about 12.8 l / 100km and I just stayed out of the throttle leaving lights and such... either that or I was in no hurry to get to a funeral.
  8. Yep.. them old guys always know more about spawning !
  9. Drove by there yesterday.. river is so swollen and flooded you'd think Parks Canada would crack the slushes open on the locks to eaze some flow / flooding.
  10. You sure that's a creek and not just melt runoff... kinda looks like each side of my runway...
  11. Saw from $1.219 to $1.399 yesterday travelling hwy 7 400 km in each direction. Price fixing at it's finest, but I knew where to fill up on the way back PERTH!
  12. The Narrows at 9am this morning.. and the bay the launch is in..
  13. 3 more days to play.. then what yah gonna do! lol
  14. Had one pecking on the back door this morning... guess the snow was hurting his feet!
  15. There are no Pickeral under the tree that's in the water beside my airplane! Those are called Bass... as I've told hundreds before that camp at the park. I'd imagine, considering ice out will probably be the first week of May.. maybe even the second... that they'll still be very close to the streams they spawned in. That I'll let you do your homework on reading some Topo maps. Pike will probably be in the shallow bays up the North East Arm. Now as for camping at the park.... do you have a significant other that needs a comfort station.. hot water (and that might even be questionable in May.. check the park opening). If you are just boating, fishing and camping via tent... save the $26 a night and just launch your boat and go camp on one of the Crown Land camp sites.
  16. He's just making sure people respect his fishing spot! What's the issue...
  17. Fuel cost... just better than being in the shop! lol Got a bunch of still shots as well.. just need to downsize them.
  18. Well Terry.. you know, if you're stuck, where the sled and trailer can go for the summer.
  19. Not sure why they'd be easy picking for the 'yotes.... they do fly and sit in trees.
  20. Guess none of you guys have alarm systems... can't imagine the false alarms.
  21. They've been waking me up every morning for the past week... clucking away and tearing up the grass on top of my septic tank!
  22. That was this morning by the way... -2 allowed me to get across the mud to the 14 to 16" of snow still on the runway. Think it was my last slide on snow for the season though...
  23. Didn't make it to Simcoe.. but Georgian Bay is turning white.. shoals, sandbars and normal current areas are open. Nottawasaga Bay is still locked up, other than the West shore has an open stretch along it and there is an open patch from the Western Islands down past the side of Christian Island to the gap between lighthouse point and the mainland. Still gonna be awhile yet, but if we get some high winds that starts some wave action in the open spots she'll be toast pretty quickly.
  24. A LOT of white ice out there lads.. sandbars and shoals starting to open up and any current areas. Still lots of ice.. but be careful where you step. Time to put away the machines and go back to walking with picks!
